In this episode of the Marketing in Your Car podcast, Russell Brunson walks listeners through his newly implemented weekly workflow and accountability system for the ClickFunnels team. He explains that Monday is dedicated to short, focused meetings and a daily "return‑and‑report" voice‑message check‑in where each team member reports what they accomplished, what they’ll work on next, and any blockers. Tuesday and Wednesday are reserved for funnel building, Thursday for sales calls, and Friday for fulfillment of coaching and product creation. Russell shares recent internal collaborations, including brainstorming with the in‑house ad agency and planning a Predictable Revenue‑style front‑end call center. He then unveils a new free‑plus‑shipping product concept—"Funnel Magnets," a magnetic pack of core funnel pages that can be arranged on a refrigerator to visualize a funnel. Throughout, he reflects on his habit of constantly asking “what’s next,” describes a strategic shift from creating new side‑projects to focusing creative energy on marketing ClickFunnels, and encourages listeners to adopt similar compartmentalized schedules and accountability practices.
Hey everyone, this is Russell Brunson and welcome to Marketing in Your Car.
Welcome to the Marketing in Your Car podcast where you can increase your traffic, conversions, and sales in just 10 minutes a day. And now here's your host, Russell Brunson.
Alright everybody, so my last episode of Marketing in Your Car did not make the publication route. I feel bad because it was so funny, but I figured it would probably be best for me not to do it. You know they say if you have nothing, don't, or what is it, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. So what I did is, so if you guys know, Leadpages came out with a new announcement for some of their new things, and I did a whole podcast as if they had hired me to be their consultant, 'cause I wanted to point out just all of the mistakes they made, and I felt so bad, and I was like, so I basically was a consultant and consulted to them. It was really funny, I gotta admit. But before I posted, I sent it to a couple people and they said, while it was hilarious and really actually pretty good, it would've actually hopefully made Paige laugh if she listened to it, we probably shouldn't do that. So I didn't, so I apologize, but just know that it was really funny and you guys should try to consult for your competitors sometimes 'cause it's really, really, really an enjoyable thing to do. But don't publish it live 'cause it's just, somehow it's gonna bite me in the butt, I knew, so anyway, yeah. So if any of you guys have a chance to steal my phone someday, it's archived in here, I've got it, but it's just not gonna make it to the, you know, what do you call it? It's not gonna make it on the, or hit the cutting room floor or whatever, so yeah. Anywho, today what I'm gonna talk about is remember last week or two weeks ago I was talking about compartmentalizing your days and stuff like that? And I did. So yesterday was Monday and I figure like, I wanna make sure that like everybody on my team organization is running the right direction, right? The worst thing is that by Wednesday people are like, so what do you want me doing this week? And you're like, it's Wednesday, like why didn't you ask me on Monday or even Tuesday or even Wednesday morning? 2 and a half days you've been sitting around doing stuff but not like the right stuff. And so I figured like Monday is my day to aim, right? I'm sure you guys have heard the story about Abraham Lincoln, right? Where, I think it was Abraham Lincoln or some dude, maybe someone else, but where it's like if you were gonna be in an axe racing contest with somebody else, what would you do? And it's like, well, I would spend the first 6 hours sharpening my saw and the last hour winning. You know, whatever that is. So I totally screwed that story up, but you guys get the point, right? You can chop with a dull saw, but it's gonna take way longer if you spend time sharpening. So Monday is now my sharpening/meeting day to make sure everyone's pointing in the right direction and trying to do a little more training and consulting to people on my team. So with all my core people that I work directly with, I've set up weekly meetings, not long ones, like 15-minute meetings, and then we've got accountability throughout the day. So each person at the end of the day, they need to vox me with kind of what we call a return and report. They get a return and report what they did throughout the day. So they come back and say, hey Russell, today I did this, tomorrow I'm working on this, and then and they have to tell me any issues they see standing in their way of completing that net, what they're doing tomorrow. Like, hey, but I really need some help from a graphic designer, Russell, I need this, or whatever they need from me, and boom, I can give it to them and help them keep running. So that's kinda nice. We plug that into place and it's going well so far. Yesterday I had more meetings than I've ever wanted to have in my life, but I also learned more about my business than I think I ever knew, and realized some things we're doing right and some things we're doing wrong, and some things that I needed to do to step up and really fill in the gaps. So that was really cool. I really am glad that I did that. We also spent time, like, John on our team runs our ad agency. It's an internal ad agency and we're the only client. But he runs that, right? And so I had an hour-long meeting with him yesterday and we just had a chance to brainstorm and talk through things and figure out like what funnels can I make to help him better and then what he was doing and just get ideas and it was awesome. Like usually, I know he's amazing and he's doing stuff but it was fun for me to see it and then be able to think like on my side, what can I do to help amplify this and make it better? And yesterday Brent was out of the office but I had a meeting with him today 'cause he's back and we're building out this huge new front-end call center thing based off of the book Predictable Revenue. And today we're gonna meet on that and then start planning. It's just, it's cool. So I really enjoy Monday meeting day. Now today, Tuesday and Wednesday are Russell's funnel building days. So I get to build funnels all day today and tomorrow. I'm so excited. So that's awesome. Then Thursday is the day that I get to sell and then Friday is fulfillment day which is fulfillment of coaching, creation of products, et cetera, et cetera. So far, we're one day into this and I'm really liking it. So I'll report back to you guys as we keep going forward. But so far, I'm really, really liking it. So that's very encouraging. Second off, I had an idea this morning for a new free plus shipping offer that I am so excited for. So you guys are gonna hear it first before anyone else has even heard of it. But we're gonna have it executed here within the next 2 weeks or so and then it'll be live and you guys will see it. But I was just thinking like, I want a cool free plus shipping offer to get people in the ClickFunnels, like what would be a fun, exciting thing? And I was thinking about, one of our Inner Circle members asked me about, some of you guys have seen when we did the big, we blew up the NeuroCell sales letter and had it huge on our office wall and they're like, how did you do that? Like we wanna be able to put our funnels up on the wall. And I was like, what if we made like a magnet pack that had a whole bunch of refrigerator magnets in it that you could go on your refrigerator and it has like, you know, 10 sales pages, 10 upsell pages, 10 webinar, like all the core funnel pages you need, right? And we just have a magnetic pack and then you go in your refrigerator and move things around and build your dream funnel on your refrigerator. How cool would that be? So we're making that. So that's gonna be our next free plus shipping offer to get people into ClickFunnels. But I just thought that was like one of the coolest things ever and if you think that's cool, then it means you've been geeking out with me long enough that we're all on the same page. So we are making that. Funnel magnets is coming soon. I gotta go buy funnelmagnets.com or something like that. But anyway, that is another fun thing that I get to work on. And one thing I wanted to kinda say related to that, I had a lot of interviews during the Christmas/New Year's break. A lot of podcast interviews and stuff. We kinda loaded them up during that time so I could, you know, when working, we're working a little less and just doing more of those. And one question I got consistently a couple times, just like, Russell, what's the next thing you're, like, what's next? And I kinda smiled and said, you know what, like, for the last 10 years of me doing this business, I was looking like, what's next, what's next, what's next? And I realized that's like what was the problem. Like, I kept trying to figure out like what's the next thing to do? Like, we spent all this time and effort and energy building something. Roll it out and I was looking at what's next. And you know, we launched ClickFunnels a year and a half ago and I've talked about this with you guys before. I sat back and said, okay, what can I, I need to try to focus. So we sold the supplement company, we shut down like 10 other side projects we were doing and we started to focus. And I was really nervous, I'm like, my entrepreneurial ADD, you know, I'm a creator, I wanna create things, I wanna figure out, you know, like new funnels, new offers, things like that, that's what gets me excited. And I had a friend, I'm not gonna give him credit for it. Okay, I'll give him credit, his name is BJ. BJ Wright, some of you guys may know him, but BJ said something like, what if you just instead of like use your creativity to create a new product, what if you use your creativity to figure out more ways to market ClickFunnels? And I was like, huh, that's actually a really good idea. And so if you've noticed over the last 12 months, like every funnel we have put out, every offer we've put out, everything including my book, they're all bait to get people into ClickFunnels. Anyway, it's kind of interesting, I just wanna throw that out in case you guys haven't noticed, you probably noticed it, but if not, there it is. That's like this funnel magnet, it's like, that is a cool, creative, awesome idea we can do that'll get people into our, into ClickFunnels, so there you go. Anyway, I'm at the office, I gotta bounce. Have an amazing day today, block out your schedule, you guys, 'cause so far it's been amazing and I think that we all should be doing that. And other than that, I will talk to you guys again soon, bye.
