How much does one life cost? And two? This question should be unnecessary, but unfortunately it still needs to be asked because for some companies, a person's life is worth less than the production line. This week we learned about the absurd case of an employee of a large food industry who, pregnant with twins, asked what would cost less, stopping the production line for a few minutes or burying two babies. This story is brutal, inhumane and shows what happens when pain that doesn't bleed is treated seen as a whim, when Prophet speaks louder and the obvious needs to be explained. The company tried to claim that they offered help, but the security cameras disproved it. And then the company fired the woman for abandoning her job. The court ordered the company to pay R $150,000 in compensation. Tell me, is R $150,000 worth two lives? That's the math. What would cost less? Stop.
