And it will end. You will go through menopause. And today there's no medication that a person can take to store eggs inside them so that when they want to get pregnant, they still have a good supply. Yeah. Because over time we lose egg quality and quantity. Yeah. What we can do in medicine today is remove and freeze these follicles, these eggs, so that when she wants to get pregnant in the future, we can use them in IVF, for example. So she uses an egg at 48, an egg from her at 33, so there will be more quality, more quantity, because unfortunately, this is determined by our age. Time passes and the eggs are lost anyway. And then the younger girl who's still in this, on again, off again where she is, we can do this ovarian reserve assessment. Great. To see if she's within expectations. Sometimes she can simply wait a little longer to get pregnant later. Or if she is, she needs to worry a little beforehand if her reserve is a little lower than it should be because she smoked, had ovarian surgery, had endometriosis. And these are things that accelerate the loss of these follicles. So there are these tests, both an ultrasound, which is an antral follicle count, which gives this. And a blood test called anti millennial hormone, which shows us how her reserve is.
Yes. I'll give you an image here for you to create in your head. I have a three and a half year old daughter. Then I look at her and say, daughter, did you know my grandchildren are already inside her? It's so cute.
Right?
In other words, girls are born.
With the capacity to reproduce.
Now, I'm a little wary of these criteria because whatever they tell us, if we accept it as the only truth.
You already stamp it. It's good or bad. Why am I saying this? I'm 44 years old. Most people ask me how you got pregnant naturally. And I keep holding back because if I tell the truth, I'm giving someone who can't get pregnant a feeling of incapacity. Wow. But she did it and I didn't. But then again, we all have very different characteristics, even though we're all women. Right. And it's not just the ovaries that age. Our entire body ages.
Yes, that's it.
Dealing with this aging. Aline, I'd like you to bring up how much our mental health needs to be up to date. Because aging is a privilege, not an accident.
Exactly.
But many women can't get pregnant because they've been told their whole lives. Oh, after 35, you won't be able to. After that, it will be more difficult. Then there you go. It will be even more difficult. I've never worked with that hypothesis.
I've always worked with the hypothesis that, well, if I'm going to be a mother, I'll be the way I have to be. Because I. Because we're different, right? And so there's no medicine, psychology. These are sciences that study and give us some patterns of functioning. But people are completely different. So what's important, right, Is for a person to rediscover themselves and get to know themselves physically. So, wow, it's really cool to see me doing it from an early age and see what my ovarian reserve is like at my age. Because it gives me more knowledge about how I function, about what my body is like. Right? And people are different sometimes for me, it will happen later. Right. It's still working. It can be natural. That's not everyone's reality, right? So. And then it's about the person becoming more individualized and knowing themselves. Right? Because everything is self knowledge, people, all health is self knowledge. Right. When we go there and get a check up and look at the blood test, I'm super curious about this. I love seeing it in my blood test because, man, that's me. You know? It's me, right? Too. Yeah. So I think it's an important culture that we have to embrace, right? Which is a culture of self knowledge and decisions based on self knowledge or better decisions. This also applies to aging, right? Because we'll know, well, I'm whiter, my wrinkles will appear sooner. So I already know that. Right? So, okay, this is part of it, right. I prepare for it differently. I don't just look in the mirror. I'm full of wrinkles. It's going to happen.
Exactly. And then I progress from wrinkles to health problems and so on. Right? The interest in self knowledge is in our hands.
That's it.
