Saber a hora de parar é tão importante quanto saber a hora de começar!

William Bonner left his career after 29 years. The video explores why knowing when to stop matters as much as knowing when to start, touching on courage, fulfillment, and how society views people who walk away.
William Bond asked to leave.
Look, my decision to change careers is already five years old. And I felt like my days only had room for the things I needed to do. But things I also wanted to do were left out. The math wasn't adding up.
He dedicated 29 years to his career at Giornal Nacional, and yesterday he announced he was leaving. Do you know what people's reaction was on social media? Look at the comments. Did you notice? Instead of being inspired, they victimized themselves? And do you know what this says about us? That we've normalized unhappiness, that we romanticize suffering. And then when someone has the courage to change, we go and belittle them, saying it was luck, but it wasn't luck. It's called courage. Because the truth is, the gilded cage is still a cage. No matter how much stability, recognition, money you have, you still feel like you're lacking water inside. And Boner didn't just give up everything and realized something was wrong. And so what he started doing was planning. He realized that while his children were present, he wasn't. How many of us are too busy building the future and forgetting to live in the present? The difference is that he recognized it, he was aware and did something to change. And we prefer to justify it, saying it's different, that he doesn't live our life because it's easier to diminish someone else's courage than to admit our own lack of awareness. But look, you don't need millions to be aware. You don't need guarantees to plan, and much less do you need to wait for the right time to have courage. You only need three recognize that something is wrong, make a plan for what you want, and act even when you're afraid. So are you going to sit on the sidelines of life pretending everything is fine, or are you going to admit you deserve so much more? If that makes sense, comment here. Are you part of the team that thinks only the rich can change? Or part of the team that courage is priceless? And share this with someone who needs to stop playing the victim and start planning?
