I heard a great quote today that said, if you want to be exceptional, you must be willing to be the exception. You can't be like everybody else. You can't do what the average person does. You can't do what your friends do. When you're hanging out with mediocre people means you have to show up. Unlike other people show up. You got to show up earlier, you got to stay later. While other people are often gallivanting around, making excuses, creatively avoiding procrastinating, you have to be the exception to what most people do. When people do the minimum standard, you have to be the exception. You go above and beyond. That's the way the game is played. It's the difference between winners and losers. You're not going to fit in with most of the people. The more you achieve, the higher you rise, the harder it is. Find people that you can just hang out with and associate. Are you willing to do what it takes to be exceptional? You want an exceptional life. You want exceptional results, but you don't want the exceptional commitment and the exceptional dedication, the exceptional discipline that is required to get there. It doesn't mean you have to be smarter, doesn't mean you have to be bigger, faster. It just means you're willing to do what others want to do. You're willing to be the exception. You want exceptional results. You want an exceptional life. Show up in a way that is the exception.
