Kevin Ray Ward argues that 90% of real estate success comes from mental certainty, not strategy or skills. He uses Tom Brady's seventh-round draft pick to show how belief shapes outcomes. When agents cultivate absolute confidence through self-talk, prospects find it hard to say no.

I am the best decision this organization has ever made. Those are the words of Tom Brady when he was selected in the 7th round of the 2000 draft. He was the 200th player picked, way down the road, not a great start. And my friend, it was the belief that overcame all the adversity, overcame all the obstacles, everything that he had to go through from being benched his senior year to not even knowing he was going to be drafted when his expectations were high and they never lived up to his expectations. And he just said, "I knew I wasn't going to have any chances. And when I got my chance, I was going to be ready." The most important thing that he was ready with was his mind. So, while you're working on your strategies, while you're working on your skills, while you're working on your marketing, while you're working on everything else in your business, the one thing that you must constantly be working on is programming your mind, programming your story with the belief in your own greatness, the belief in your ability to succeed, your belief in your ability to deliver results for your clients. Your story, my friend, the story that you tell yourself over and over every day, that self-talk, that is the difference above everything else between winning and losing. 90% of your success is the mental game. It's that you don't get beat by their agents because of their stats or because of their track record or because of how long they've been doing real estate or how many homes they've sold in the market. You get beat because of the mental game. When your mind is right and your certainty is absolute, there's an energy of certainty that makes it almost impossible for people to tell you no. So get your story right. You're the greatest.
