HOW TO TURN A BAD DAY INTO A GOOD ONE | Kevin Ray Ward

Kevin Ray Ward argues that bad days contain good moments too. He offers three moves: focus on the good parts, take small controllable wins, and keep your commitments, like finishing 300 pushups, to shift momentum.
While the masses spend their days dominated by doubt, distraction, and dead ends, the masters go through their day on fire. My friend, welcome to the Fire zone.
So yesterday, I had a bad day. Hey, there. It's coach Kevin Ray Ward at the fire Zone. Message of the day. And the question is, how do you turn a bad day into a good day? Because let's face it, we all have days that we look at them and we feel like it's a bad day. And yet does that really mean it's a bad day? Does it mean it has to be a bad day? Does it mean it's out of your control whether it's a good day or a bad day? And so I was having this conversation with Rochelle, and I was just telling her, I'm like, I'm just frustrated. This was yesterday evening. I'm like, I'm just. I feel frustrated because I felt like I did not get the things I need to get done, and some things didn't go the way I wanted them to, and I just felt like it was a bad day. And then I'm listening to myself, and I'm like, okay, so how do you turn a bad day into a good day? So first is, understand that you don't have good days and bad days. You have good things happen and bad things happen. And you think about any day you've ever lived. Have you ever had a day that every single thing in that day went perfect and you call it a good day? Have you ever had a day that every single thing in your day went bad and that was a bad day? Because I'm gonna tell you right now, you've never had a day that everything was ever. Every single thing that could have gone bad went bad. You just haven't had that day that you've never had a day that everything in the everything went bad. That when you woke up in the morning, you opened your eyes and you could not see and you were blind, and then you realized you couldn't hear and you were deaf. And then you realized when you went to the bathroom that you were pissing blood. And when you turn the water on, it didn't come on. I mean, like, every single day, things happen. There are good and bad and things happen, and there's bad things that do happen almost every day. But you get to choose whether I'm going to focus on the good things or I'm going to focus on the bad things. So number one is where we focus. So when bad things happen, am I going to get fixated on the bad thing? Or am I going to go like, oh, that just happened, But I'm going to still be grateful for the great things that happen and go like, okay, I'm going to focus on the good things, not the bad things. Number one, number two set. Number one is focus. Number two is, here's how you turn a bad day into a good day. In other words, a day that feels like a bad day. The way I was feeling yesterday, here's how I shifted it. I just said, I'm going to do some good things right now to make my day better, to feel better. So I did two or three things last night that it's just like when I'm done, I'm like, I feel better, made my day better. Okay. Part of it was I kept my commitments to finish my 300 pushups for the day. I could control that. Can I control everything that happened yesterday? No, I couldn't happen. But I just decided I'm gonna do good even when I feel bad. And here's the thing. When I feel bad, do good anyway. When you feel bad or you feel like things aren't going well and you feel bad about how things are going, or you feel like it's a bad day, just say, I'm going to do something good right now. And so we change the reality by doing something different than the way we are feeling in the moment. So focus on the good, no matter what happens with the bad. And number two, do good. Even when you feel like everything is going bad, it shifts today. It shifts the trajectory of your life. Three, two, one. Off you go.
