In this personal, urgent monologue Kevin Ray Ward shares the recent death of his brother‑in‑law from cancer as a stark reminder that most people are financially unprepared for life’s sudden adversities. He describes how a former coaching client, a real‑estate agent, is now drowning in personal debt because his business has stalled and he lacks any financial safety net. Ward argues that the typical mindset—getting a degree, a job, and working to pay monthly bills—fails to protect against health crises, family emergencies, or market downturns. Instead, he urges agents (and anyone) to shift focus from short‑term cash flow to building multiple, resilient streams of income that generate ongoing cash flow and true financial freedom. He outlines daily disciplined actions—making calls, having quality conversations, generating and following up leads, training, role‑playing—that are required not just to meet this month’s expenses but to construct a wealth‑building engine that can sustain a family through any adversity. Ward emphasizes that waiting for perfect conditions is futile; wealth must be created while opportunities exist, and the motivation should be protecting one’s family, not merely accumulating money. The video serves as both a cautionary tale and a motivational blueprint for agents to adopt a proactive, long‑term financial strategy.

Well, this is a very personal video, um, and it's about preparing for life and it's about preparing for eventualities and it's about creating a life where you don't have to worry about money and you don't have to worry about adversity because you built a life and you built a cash flow machine or foundational wealth that will continue to pay you and take care of yourself and you and your family. No matter what happens. Um, just found out this morning that my brother-in-law passed away of cancer, and, um, the family's in chaos. Tough time because they weren't really prepared for it, and we just found out literally 2 or 3 weeks ago that he had cancer. And as he's getting out of bed, his femur literally just snapped. His leg broke just climbing out of bed. And it turned out he had bone cancer, but that was like the final stages because it didn't start in his bones, it started in his lungs. And he never smoked, but it didn't matter. And he wasn't prepared, and he hadn't prepared financially the way that he would have wanted to for his family. I just got a message yesterday from a real estate agent who's a former coaching member who wants to get back into coaching, but they don't have the money. And the reason they don't have the money is because their business has gone down over the last 2 years and they've just not done the stuff they needed to do. And they said, as long as I was in coaching, I was always doing what I was supposed to do and I stand accountable. And now I'm not. And now I'm financially in a bad place. I've got $60,000 in personal debt from friends and family that loaned money just to be able to get them through the hump. And now that money is— those loans are coming due, even though they're personal loans. And the person just went to the emergency room yesterday and was put into the hospital for potentially having a mini stroke and some health issues, and they're not ready. And I just realized we do this in life is we always think everything's gonna be fine and we literally prepare for paying bills. Like, we go to school, get a degree, get a job so you can pay the bills, so you can support yourself, support your family, get a house and all this kind of stuff. But we don't prepare for the eventualities of life. We don't prepare for adversity. We don't prepare for the moment that we find out our spouse has cancer or the moment that we find out that we have a health issue that may take us out of the game. For a week or a month or 6 months or forever. And we're not prepared because we don't think ahead. We don't think life, planning to win the game of life. And so I'm just looking at this as kind of a wake-up call. And I'm giving you this as a wake-up call that today, if you're working today, did you do what was required today to succeed, to reach your goals? Did you make the calls? Did you have the quality conversations? Did you generate the leads? Did you do the lead follow-up? Did you train? Did you practice? Did you role play? Did you do the things that was required today? Not just to make money and pay your bills this month, but to be able to build a life and create cash flow that will eventually give you complete financial freedom. Stop thinking, I got to do this much to make this much money this month to pay my bills and start thinking, what do I have to do to create a life that I never have to worry about money? And I don't ever have to worry about being able to take care of myself and my family and the people that matter to me. Because my friend, that time is coming. It's coming for all of us. It's coming for all of us when, as we get older, there's different issues, there are different challenges. We have more responsibility and we have less time. And it seems like there's always plenty of time, but you gotta prepare while you got time. When I was a kid growing up, they used to say, "Make hay while the sun is shining." Well, I'm going to say this, create wealth while the opportunity is here. And I also know that in the middle of all this right now, that while you're trying to make money and create wealth, that you have drama, that you have stuff happens in your life. We all do. That is never going to stop. There's never going to be a perfect time in your life when everything is going just the way it should. The economy is perfect. Your life is perfect. Your relationships are perfect. Your health is perfect. Everything is perfect in your life. So you can now actually work and be productive and make money and, and and the stock market and crypto, it's all going to do exactly what you need it to do so that you can get wealthy and get ahead. If you're waiting for everything to line up perfectly for all of that to happen, that is never going to happen. That doesn't happen for anyone. And for the people you look at that are multimillionaires and deca-millionaires and centi-millionaires and billionaires, or people that have completely true financial freedom, you don't, you don't look at them and go like, well, they had it easy because they never had adversity. Everything went perfect for them. They got in at the perfect time and all this kind of stuff. And Are there exceptions where some people get really, really lucky and things work out great? Yes, maybe so. But you can't go to the bank on that. So you have to think different, you have to plan different, you have to show up different. And you have to start looking at what do I have to do today, not only pay the bills, but what do I have to do today so that 10 years from now, I don't ever have to worry about money again because I've got so much cash flow and I've got true financial freedom that my financial situation is unbreakable. Because here's the reality, there are some things that I can't really do anything about. Okay, I can do things to protect my health. I can do things to protect my relationship. I can do things to protect my finances. But when you build something that is strong enough and deep enough with cash flow and multiple cash streams of cash flow and just financial depth, every problem that comes along can be handled easier because you have money. So if in your mind you're going like, well, I'm just not motivated by money. Well, you need to wake up. And if you're not motivated by money, get motivated by being able to take care of yourself and your family no matter what happens, because when that time comes, having money will make all the difference in the world. So yeah, it's personal, but I want you to win.
