Kevin Ray Ward identifies four reasons real estate agents feel stuck: lack of power and mastery, no consistent process, chasing work-life balance instead of integrating work into life, and missing purpose. He offers concrete fixes like mastering your craft, adopting a daily system, and clarifying your life purpose.

Hey, if you're a real estate agent and you're stuck, listen up, because being stuck is one of the worst places to be in. And yet it's a place that almost every real estate agent finds themself over and over and over again. Right now, real estate agents are drowning. So if you're feeling stuck, you're not alone. And in this video, I'm going to help you get past that. Because what's happening is, is we're blaming the wrong things. We're trying to figure out why am I stuck? Why am I stuck? It's not the market. It's not— interest rates. It's not your broker. It's not your CRM. It's not your location. I've coached agents for over 15 years and I've coached tens of thousands of them. And in every market, every cycle, the pattern is the same. There are 4 pits that get agents stuck that it's so hard to get out of. And I'm going to walk you through those 4 right now. And it's coming from my brand new book, More Yes, More Success. You can go to moreyesbook.com to get your free copy of that. Just pay shipping and handling. We just dropped it last week. And I want to say thank you To those of you that have already got your copy, because of you on Amazon, we became a number one bestseller internationally across all real estate categories. So thank you for doing that. Now, here's what happened to me. When I first started real estate, I started out stuck. I mean, I came in, I was like, I don't know what to do. And I sucked. I mean, this was the biggest problem is I sucked. I didn't know what to say. I didn't know how to say it. And so I remember my mentor had told me, if you want to really get business and You need to go out and knock doors and go knock doors for for sale by owners. And so that's what I did. And the very first time I went door knocking, the very first for sale by owner that I walked up on his porch, he yelled at me from inside the door. There was a— the front door was open. There was a screen door or storm door. And I just remember him going like, get the fudge off my porch. And it wasn't fudge that he said. And it freaked me out. I didn't know how to deal with it. And I remember going back to my car. I remember sitting in my car. And feeling like, what do I do? I don't know what to do here. And after that, I stopped knocking doors for over a year. I just didn't want to knock doors. Fortunately, I had a couple of things going for me. So one, my first broker, Mike Bowman, always told me listings are the name of the game. So if you want to get unstuck, know this, that what gets you unstuck is finding motivated sellers and getting listings. Okay? Now it's not the easy path, but it is the path that will get you into momentum and get you making money. Money. So it's like listings, the name of the game. Listings are the name of the game. And so what I did do is I didn't quit. Okay, this is the first thing. If you want to ever get unstuck when you're stuck, the most important thing is don't quit. Don't quit no matter what. Don't quit. And then you just got to identify why am I stuck? Like, what's going on? And it always comes down to these 4 things that keep us stuck. And I'm going to share these with you directly from my book. This is from chapter 1 of my new book, More Yes, More Success, and the chapter is called Facing the Shame because that's how I felt. I was ashamed. I didn't know what to do. I was ashamed of being stuck, right? But the only way you're going to get unstuck is you've got to face it. Okay, so here are the 4 reasons and the 4 things that keep agents stuck. Number 1 is a lack of power. You're not powerful. Like, I want to do this and I want to be powerful, but I don't feel powerful. So I'm just going to kind of read to you and I'm going to give you these 4 things. I'm going to give you what it solves and how to solve it. Okay? Because this lack of power, the biggest reason you're stuck is you're showing up without power. You're making the calls, you're going on the appointments, but people aren't hiring you. Why? Because you don't exude the certainty they need to trust you. When you lack presence, when you walk into a room unsure of your own value, people feel that. And when they feel it, they're already saying no before you've even said a word. If you're not getting results, it's not because the market is bad. It's because you're not showing up as someone they can believe in. So how do you get power? One word, mastery. Mastery creates certainty, certainty creates trust, and trust is what gets you hired. And this book is what will help you figure out how do I get powerful, how do I get certainty. This is what they need from you more than anything else, more than scripts, more than what you say, is you have to show up like you actually have certainty about how to help them get the result they want, whether you're dealing with a seller or dealing with a buyer. And this right here, Getting Power is what cures fear, okay? Because this is the biggest thing that stops agents, is fear, right? So when I get power, all of a sudden I cure my fear, okay? Here's the second thing that keeps agents stuck, is a lack of process. To put it really simple, I don't know what to do. Now, once you figure out a process, it cures all the chaos. It cures the I don't know what to do thing. So I'm just going to share with you and read from the book on this, having a lack of process. Most agents wake up every day and they just wing it. They chase every lead, they dabble in every shiny new strategy, and they burn out from the chaos. When you don't have a clear, proven process, you live in a constant state of reaction. You can't grow, you can't scale, you can't even think straight. You know what I'm talking about? Have you ever felt this way? Like, I just can't think, I don't even know what to do right now. It's because you don't have a clear process that says, oh, here's what you do next, here's what you do now. Every day, every day, to have a process. One day it's social media, the next day it's door knocking, the next day it's open houses. And then the moment it doesn't results, you try something else. You switch again. And every time you do that, you lose confidence and worse, you lose momentum. You don't need more hacks. You need a process that works. A simple proven and then the discipline to master it. Again, I'll give you the whole layout, the entire process right here in the book More Yes More Success to build a high 6-figure or 7-figure business. But this is the thing: When you have a process like what do I do every day that I know is going to work, I know is going to get results. And as I go with through this process of mastery to get power, I I'm also creating a process that I can follow every single day. So I'm not going like, what do I do next? What do I do next? And then we're living in reaction. And you felt this, right? It's like we're just now answering emails, we're answering phone calls, we're going to different classes, we're trying different things, watching different videos on YouTube or whatever. It's like, what do I do? What do I do? Okay. When you have a clear process, you're no longer wondering, walking around in this chaos of like, what do I do? Get the process, trust the process, and follow it every day. Okay, here's the third piece, and this now comes into not just our business but also our life, and that is having a lack of perspective. Okay, now what I mean by that is this idea of work-life balance. In fact, let me just read from the book. It says most agents try to separate work and life. They chase balance, but real estate isn't just your job, it is a big part of your life. So you can't have this thing, work-life balance. It's like it's work and life has to be integrated because work is a part of your life. Now, I'm going to give you a story. This happened just recently to one of my coaching members who is like elite. I mean, this dude is elite. 7-figure business as a real estate agent. He made $1 million his first 25 months in the business as a new agent named Sergio Nazaro. And he had a situation recently where he's got a 4-year-old son and he said, "I just— my son asked me this all the time. So, I'm getting ready to go to work and he says, 'Daddy, can you just stay home and play with me today?'" and he says like, what do I say? How do I— what do I say to leave the house without feeling guilty and not make my son feel neglected and like he's not important? And so here's the answer to that, is it's understanding that what I do is for my family. But it's not just you understanding it, you have to help them understand it. Now, how do you help a 4-year-old understand it? Okay, well, you have to simply have a straightforward 4-year-old level conversation that simply goes something like this. Like, "Son, I know I would love to play with you. Here's what we got to do. I've got to go to work right now. Can I tell you why?" "Why, Daddy?" "This is what I do to take care of us so that we have good— we have nice food to eat, we have clothes to wear, we have a nice home to live in. And all the things you like to do like when we go to Disneyland or we do this or that, all of that is because I go to work and that lets me make the money that lets us have all that stuff." Okay, so I'm doing this for us, and someday you're going to get to come do some of this with me if you want to. Here's what let's do. After dinner tonight, you and I are going to have a play date, and then we schedule the play date. Okay, here's what that does for you is it's giving you a perspective of your business and your life all as a single unit, but it's also giving your son perspective— this, or your daughter, or whoever it is, but in this case Sergio, it's his son— is it gives them a perspective. Okay, Daddy's got to do this, to take care of us. And then he's going to play with me tonight. And then you give him like after dinner, don't say at 7 o'clock tonight because kids, 4-year-old's not going to understand 7 PM. That's just forever away. But he understands, okay, what happens during the day is we do this, this, and this, and we have dinner, right? So they kind of, they know what that pattern looks like. It's like after dinner, you and I are going to have a play date. What would you like to do? We can do this. Okay, let's do that. We're going to go do that. And then you give your son something to look forward to. And so the whole day he's anticipating his playtime. So not only does he get to enjoy the time with you in your playdate that evening, he has to enjoy the anticipation of dad's gonna come home, we're gonna have dinner, and then we're gonna get to play. And so you're not putting your son off, you're integrating the work that you have to do and the life that you are building with you, for you and your family. Okay? So this is having a perspective of how do I manage and how do I integrate work and life so it all works together because it's really, in reality, it's all life, right? Okay, and then number 4, here's the 4th thing that gets agents stuck. It is having a lack of purpose and passion. A lack of purpose and passion. And I'm gonna kind of connect these two. Purpose is why am I doing what I'm doing? And the passion is the burning desire for that purpose. Now, this cures the grind, okay? So I'm gonna just, again, it's very short here, but I'm gonna read this part of the chapter. So when you don't have a compelling purpose driving you toward your dreams, the work becomes torture. The grind becomes unbearable, and you start asking, what's the point? Have you ever felt that? Have you ever had that moment where it's like, what is the point? Why am I doing this? Why am I calling strangers? Why am I working so hard? Why am I doing these open houses? What— why am I even doing this? But when you have a mission, when you see the bigger picture, In other words, not just what I'm doing, but why I'm doing what I'm doing. The hard stuff becomes worth it. Your dreams fuel that fire. So what do you got to do? Don't lose sight of the dream. Don't lose sight of why did you get in real estate to begin with. To be able to make more money, to have the life that I want, to be able to have control of my life, control of my time. That's why you were doing it. Now, it may take longer than you want it to take. It may be harder to get there than you thought it was going to be. But it doesn't matter as long as you stay clear on the path. The only way you don't create the life of your dream is if you don't stay on the path, is if you quit, is if you give up. That's the only way you lose. Okay? Because if you keep going, you keep trying, and you keep developing the power, you keep trusting and following a process, you keep that perspective while you're doing it, and you never lose sight of why you were doing it, of the purpose. Now, let's just talk about what does purpose mean? Like, what is my purpose? I'm going to give it to you real simple. What do you want? What is the lifestyle that you want for yourself, for your family? What do you want to feel every day? What do you want to have every day? What do you want to be able to do every day? The lifestyle that I want, the ability to add value to other people, to make a difference in the world, and all of that comes as a result of successfully executing in the business, making the money, which money is not the solution and money is not the end-all be-all. Money is the resource that funds the life that you want. So my purpose is not making money. My purpose is the lifestyle that I want for me and myself, for my family and all the things that are important to me. And I keep that purpose in front of me. Like, that's what we're getting. Those are our dreams. Those are our goals. That's what we're going after. And this is just the process that we have to go to get there. So when you know where you're going, you have this burning desire to get there. You stop procrastinating, you stop drifting, and you stop wasting time on the things that don't matter. Without purpose, you're just clocking in and clocking out. Of your own life and of your dreams. So you gotta have this vision. You gotta have this vision of this is why I'm doing what I'm doing every single day and never lose sight of the goal. Never lose sight of the ultimate target. What I have to do today, why am I doing this? I've gotta make, have 10 quality conversations today. I've gotta do my lead generation. I've gotta do my lead follow-up, blah. That's all that is grind. It's why am I doing that? Well, I'm doing that so I can get 4 deals a month so that I can create and make $40,000, $50,000 a month so I can have $500,000 a year income. Why? So that I can provide for myself, my family, the life that we want, and eventually create financial freedom and have absolute abundance in all areas of my life. It is that purpose and that goal. It's got to be bigger. It's a long game, not the short game. It is the long game that will drive you in the short game. It's like, I'm here to win the championship. I'm not just here to succeed on this play. I'm here to win the whole championship. So I got to keep that perspective. So Let's just kind of review here, and this is so, so important, is that this is not a one-time fix-all. It's like, I've gotta be in this mindset of staying clear every day. Am I building my power? Am I becoming more powerful? Am I mastering the skills and scripts and what with role play and training and practice and doing it over and over again? Am I mastering that? Because when you have power, that cures fear. Number 2 is you gotta have the process. You need a proven process. And again, right here, this is the first time I published this book. It includes the entire business model, the entire business framework, how to build your business. So you have a process of how do I do lead generation? How do I do follow-up? How do I build relationships? How do I handle objections? How do I get listings? The whole process is laid out for you here, and then you just master that process and you implement the process. So every day I'm following a process. I'm not just going like, what do I got to do right now? And just winging it. Okay? So, having a process cures the chaos. Then number 3 is a perspective. Having the perspective of this is integrating all areas of my life and work is just a part of my life. And what this cures, my friend? This cures the guilt. The guilt that we feel of like, "I feel guilty when I'm working. I feel guilty when I'm home. I think I should be working more. When I'm at work, I feel like I should be with my family so I feel guilt." But when you have this integration and you have this agreement that you get with your family with your spouse, with your kids, and all that by helping them understand why you do what you do and the importance of it, and then giving them something to look forward to, a time, a date. All of that is important to your family. It's also important for you because it cures your guilt. And then that fourth piece is having clarity of my purpose and passion. What is the goal that I want? So every day I'm not just grinding. This cures the grind. I'm grinding, I may be working hard, but I'm working hard because I have a big goal, I have a big dream, and I am going to get that dream. When you have that mindset, you absolutely are going to win because you're going to adjust, you're going to adapt, you're going to grow, you're going to learn. And winning becomes automatic. Now, everything that I just share with you comes from, again, from this book. If you can go to moreyesbook.com and get a copy of it, it's going to help you with so many things.
