A crypto investor claims he made $8 million by treating blockchain like a Gold Rush, betting on the underlying chain rather than individual projects. He uses Base, a Coinbase-backed layer-2, as his example, arguing the chain's credibility matters more than any single app built on it.

So this investment strategy made me $8 million online. I treat investing like finding a new territory, literally like the Gold Rush. So when people see a new part of the world that has untapped potential, essentially what they do is they go over there and they extract the resources from the ground. I look for the concept you call zero-to-one innovation, true innovation, not things that are copies of others, but real innovation. The ability to identify value in rare places is a very, very lucrative and rare skill. The ability to take the future and attach it to something that works right now, again, a very rare skill that will get you very rich. The good news is you can learn it. So like I said, we extract resources and value. So once we see something that we know the world is going to adopt before everybody else, we go there first and we wait for people to catch up. So the way I look at one of my recent investments in Base, Base is a layer 2 to blockchain, has the biggest credibility in all crypto, and it's very small. It's like going to a new land with untapped potential. The resources of it is the credibility of Coinbase and everything that they're doing to get people onto that new land. So the first thing that's usually built is like the town square and like the marketplace, as well as individual houses. Like literally think about a settlement like right now. Like you probably have a couple of houses, people built their own houses. And what happens is we need trade. The reason we need trade is because everybody has their own individual skill to contribute to the overall cause of the creation of the town. This is where the marketplace comes into play. So what I'm saying is the marketplace getting built out is very important, and all the individual projects on the marketplace are really, really important. Now here's the part that most people make a mistake in crypto. The entire land is the most important variable. Why? No matter how good the projects are on the marketplace, if the land is truly valuable It's like a lot of people are looking for like really good teams in crypto. They're like, yeah, the team has to be amazing. But it's like, was the team amazing for the people that went to go get the gold rush? Or they just— were they just there first, right? They were there first. They extracted gold from the land. And the fact that the gold was there was probably the main reason why they did well, right? It's the same thing with picking a chain in crypto. Base is going to do well because it's from Coinbase. And the marketplace of all the individual coins, regardless how good they are or not, are going to go up in value because the overall land is rich with value. Does that make sense? Obviously, with good research, you can find the best ones within the land, but in general, you need to understand the land. So I've been telling people to get onto the Coinbase app, and I put a link in my story. I put it everywhere, bro. Just find the Coinbase Base app and get onto it. This has made me a lot of money. I keep repeating it, and I'm doing it again.
