In this early‑morning monologue recorded at an empty Lifetime Fitness gym, Alexander Lorenzo shares a personal testimony that contrasts reliance on one’s own efforts with reliance on God’s faithfulness. He opens by describing his 2 a.m. prayer and study of Abraham, noting that Scripture says Abraham was justified by faith rather than works. Lorenzo argues that many people set unattainable standards for themselves, making success dependent on personal performance. He recalls his former life as a sales employee who worked late nights before his conversion, emphasizing that true sacrifice requires letting go of self‑attachment. Using the present moment—an empty gym and a volatile market—as a backdrop, he reflects on his own failures (gaining weight after making money) and chooses to trust in God’s goodness instead of his own ability. He pledges not to give up on family, health, friends, or leadership, and commits to documenting his spiritual journey from pre‑conversion to now. Lorenzo urges viewers to make a choice when they fail: either wallow in failure or rise again by trusting God, citing the biblical principle that a righteous person falls seven times and rises eight. He concludes with a motivational call for others to wake up early, act, and place their faith in God rather than themselves.

Good morning. So it's 4 o'clock in the morning. I'm over here at Lifetime Fitness. I look behind me and there's nobody here. And I really got to thinking because this morning has been crazy. I've been up since like 2 o'clock in the morning praying and just in the Word of God. And I was reading about Abraham. And the Bible says that Abraham was justified by faith, not his works. And a lot of times people don't do things or they hold themselves to a standard that's unachievable. They all make it about their works and they make it about what they can do. And so I'm looking at this empty gym where nobody wants to be here. And then God gave me a flashback to when I was in my sales office and I would leave the office, you know, after everybody at 10 o'clock at night. And I wasn't even saved. And he told me, he said, Alex, the difference is that people don't show up. The difference is that people don't— are not willing to make a significant sacrifice because they're too attached to themselves. So as I'm looking in this moment, as I'm facing the bull market that's happening that you guys are witnessing, and things like this, and I look at all my mistakes that I make, I have a choice. I can identify with all my failure and make that my god. Alex fell short here. Alex gained weight when he started making money. I have a lot of things that I can pile up, or I could just meditate and have faith in the goodness of God. The Bible says that Abraham was justified, justified by faith in God, and it was accounted for him through righteousness through God. His faith. His righteousness came from faith in God, not faith in his own ability. And so I choose to not give up. I choose to not give up on my family. I choose to not give up on my health. I choose to not give up on my friends and, you know, all my leaders. I'm not gonna give up. No matter what it takes, I will document everything through the process throughout all of my years when I didn't know God to where I know God now. The entire thing is here. It's right in front of your face, uncompromised. Amen. Go look at the YouTube videos, go look at everything. This is my journey. And so I'm calling you guys to a higher place. If you're watching this video, you have a choice to make when you fail. The Bible says a righteous man falls 7 times, gets back up 8. You can fail and wallow in your failure and believe in your failure more than you believe in the goodness of God. Or you can believe in the goodness of God and know that he's there for you and that you are a child of God. Get back up and move forward. And that's what I'm doing today. I'm getting back up and I'm moving forward. And my past self is not gonna hold me back from what God wants me to be. And it's as simple as that. I hope one day that you'll wake up at 2 o'clock in the morning and make something happen for yourself. And if not, who cares? Who cares?
