This is a YouTube video titled "JP MORGAN IS ALLOWING CRYPTO COLLATERAL FOR LOANS" (posted 2025-10-26) containing a multi-speaker discussion about JP Morgan allowing Bitcoin and Ether to be used as collateral. Three speakers (labeled SPEAKER A/B/C) discuss that the change is currently limited to the trading business and acceptance of the IBIT ETF, note demand from hedge funds and asset managers, reference Jamie Dimon’s past remarks, and include a personal anecdote from one speaker about investing heavily in Ethereum in February 2017 and the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance. The speaker argues that crypto-as-collateral could enable loans (houses, cars, etc.) without selling holdings and predicts other banks will follow, with an overall promotional/speculative tone.
The biggest bank in the world, JP Morgan, is now letting Bitcoin and Ether be used as collateral for loans. Are you kidding me?
JP Morgan is allowing clients to pledge Bitcoin and Ether as collateral for loans.
It's still early days, and for now the concept is limited to the firm's trading business. JP Morgan's trading business has for a few months now accepted IBIT, the ETF, as a form of collateral, which it sees as less volatile as the underlying currency. However, I'm told that certain hedge fund managers and asset managers are demanding more of these types of crypto services, although again, I'm told that offering Bitcoin and Ether as collateral for trading is not imminent at the firm. While many remember, as you mentioned, Morgan, Jamie Dimon's comments about Bitcoin being, say, a pet rock, he has moderated his tone recently.
I want you to take a look at this because this is near and dear to me. This is actually what got me rich. This is something called the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance. It's basically a group of people and their whole goal is to get Ethereum adopted. Now this was in 2017, February 28th. 2 days before this, I dumped my entire bank account into Ethereum. And as you can see right here, JP Morgan is part of this community. Now the interesting part about this is that there's a lot of people that claim back in the day JP Morgan in 1908 helped establish the Federal Reserve themselves, the Federal Reserve themselves. Usually people say that it came from JP Morgan. Now, if we look at what happened to Ethereum's price after that, February 28th, 2017, we're up over 10,000%. This is literally where I started accumulating more Ethereum. I was mining Ethereum over here, then I started accumulating it and it went stupid. So the main point is, is that we have JP Morgan accepting Ethereum and Bitcoin as collateral. Now you got to understand that this could be in the future used for collateral on houses, cars and pretty much every loan. So this gives people an opportunity to accumulate Ethereum and Bitcoin without having to sell it and still getting loans against it. People can start putting portions of their net worth in crypto without having to sell it. Do you understand that other banks will follow after this? I, I'm going to leave the video at that. And bro, if you haven't heard me at this point, you just don't want to hear.
