A crypto trader with eight years of experience rates Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and other cryptocurrencies as overrated or underrated based on risk-to-reward ratio. He argues most coins offer poor odds for profit and traders should focus on rare outlier opportunities instead.
I'm going to go through this entire list and rate it overrated or underrated, all these cryptos. And for the people that's new, I manage millions of dollars worth of capital and I've been trading crypto for 8 years. The first thing that we have to establish is what does overrated versus underrated mean? It doesn't mean the coins are bad if I say it's underrated. It just means that it doesn't have a good risk-to-reward ratio. So it's purely based off of money-making opportunity, not emotions, community, or any of that. It's simply a ratio between the risk to the reward. First one, Bitcoin. I believe this is overrated on a short-term time horizon. In a long-term perspective, it's underrated only because it's 21 million fixed supply. There's nothing on the face of the planet that has that, but it's been hacked twice, so it's not really a fixed supply. I'm not gonna go into too much details. Bitcoin maximalists are gonna get upset about that. Number 2, Ethereum. It's vastly underrated right now. This is the foundational infrastructure of the entire internet. All value capture on the face of the planet will be handled on Ethereum. BNB is overrated on a long-term time horizon. I don't think it's gonna be relevant in 10 years, but on a short-term time horizon, you gotta keep in mind that this was the most You know, active ecosystem just three years, four years ago, and their liquidity is really low. So CZ might make something happen. I believe this altcoin cycle something BNB will do well. If you look at Solana's history, this is severely overrated. I am very surprised it did anything, to be honest with you guys, and it could be one of the best orchestrated pump and dumps in all of cryptocurrency history. I do not believe it's going to be relevant in five to ten years at all. And short term, it already—I'm very surprised it even did anything, to be honest. I don't want to do it to them, but no matter what I say, people are going to be weird about it. But yeah, XRP right now, hype versus Reward. Yeah, I wouldn't. I personally, the ecosystem in the future would do well. I think short term it's probably overrated. Long term it is underrated. I think it will be integrated into the financial system, and I do believe that they will come out with some really cool altcoins that will bring up the price. But right now, I don't know. I don't know. It's too much. The cult, the cultiness is weird. Overrated. We have better meme coins now. It's the cat's out of the bag. It had its cycle. Other meme coins will dominate. Toncoin is probably underrated short term but overrated long term. I don't think they're going to really last. They're just going to probably do well this cycle. Telegram is a really big app, but I don't think it's just gonna take over the system like that. I think it's Ethereum. Very, very overrated in my personal opinion. And trust me, I got Cardano like 6 months after it launched. I've been in this for a while, okay? Overrated. I'm running out of time, I move fast. Overrated. Overrated. Probably the quote-unquote safest meme coin. I would put this like neutral. I'm not sure, it's hard to tell. Don't touch this. Overrated. It's a good project and it's being utilized, but liquidity is way too high. It's, it's the cat's out of the bag. I don't know why you're buying old coins. Buy new coins. You'll make more money. This is a scam. Underrated. Layer 2s in general are underrated. I like Base better, but it is underrated. When projects try to think too big, they die. Overrated. Overrated. Overrated for sure. You guys have to keep in mind that I'm talking about purely risk to reward, so that doesn't mean that the coin project's not going to do well. I'm saying in the context of making money. So some of these projects might go up, it's irrelevant. I'm looking for the projects that go up, up, like the outliers, the big winners, and There's something you'll notice in cryptocurrency. Say no to the vast majority of opportunities. If you have 100 opportunities, say no to 99, and you'll make way more money.
