The Devil Tried To Buy My Soul

A man marks three years since converting to Christianity, reflecting on how he was tempted by extreme wealth—yachts, a $10 million waterfront house—and aggressive business tactics that left him paranoid and broke. He argues the devil's temptations start small and grow, and that only Christ delivers, not money.

All right, so that building right there, we just looked it up on Zillow, is $9 million. I thought it was like $100 million. This thing is so beautiful out here. Right there, there's the actual private beach. And so I was just sitting here because it's my anniversary for when I came to Christ, 3 years. You know, I got saved August 30th. It's September 1st. We took this trip out here and I was just really thinking about the time period before I came to Christ. I remember on my birthday, August 21st, I was, you know, blowing out a candle. I knew nothing about God and I was just like, I want to get baptized. And so, you know, 9 days later, I'm freaking out, all chaos in my life. They are setting me up right now. I am being set up. I'm being set up by the industry to be sacrificed to the industry. They might kill me. I don't trust anybody. Um, I'm not crazy. I will not be sacrificed by the industry to get somebody else rich. Losing hundreds of thousands of dollars, paranoia, you know, all this madness. And you guys can watch my testimonial video On my brother's channel, but essentially he brought me back to a moment to where I was about to come to Christ and the devil was trying to convince me really, really bad. Some of you might have witnessed it on my YouTube channel, but the devil was kind of trying to convince me with giving me a yacht. Found the yacht, right? I think we found her finally. Yeah, we found the yacht. Found a yacht, Marty. And giving me a really nice house. You know, he put it on my heart. The devil can put things on your heart. The heart is deceitful amongst men if God allows it, right? Of course. But he basically started. Telling me that he'll give me, you know, a $10 million house by the water. He started talking about giving me a yacht. I remember I made yachts and houses my ambition, and that was never my ambition. I never really cared about it too much, but I started really going hard because I was losing a lot of money and just putting— doing extra content. I remember I started just getting very aggressive at making content, trying to make money, doing very aggressive business plays, and all the motivation was to get, you know, like a $5-10 million house and a yacht, a you know, a house with a dock so I could put the boat. And so he brought me back to that moment, and that was right before I got saved. So I tell this to people all the time. The devil doesn't come to you with red horns and doesn't make it super obvious. It comes through small compromise. I talked to another guy the other day and I was like, hey, bro, would you sell your soul for $10 million? And he said, definitely not. But I looked at him and he was a workaholic. He did not seek God. And the busyness of his life took away, you know, time with God. He had no time for God, did not go to church, didn't do anything. So it's through the small actions we compromise our soul. It's through the little things. And it only gets worse when the devil has you in a stronghold. He will tempt you with bigger and bigger gifts or, you know, whatever, bigger prizes. And he never stops. You know, Jesus got tempted with the world, like literally the entire world. The devil said, I will give you everything. That was one of the biggest temptations. And so it's the same thing with business and in life, man. There's no amount of worldly treasures that can save you from this earth and save you from the devil. It's only There's only Jesus Christ, not Satan. And so I gave all this to God, all these aspirations of wanting all these things. I gave it to God. And if it's, if it's his will, he'll give it to me.
