Alexander Lorenzo argues that traditional degrees are becoming obsolete as AI advances. Instead of memorization and credentials, he says teach kids prompt engineering, adaptability, and how to learn on their own. AI tools like Claude Code matter more than formal schooling.

Don't you think it's crazy that we send our kids to school to memorize random facts, random definitions, random things that they'll probably never use in their life when they can recall that fact or definition in 3 seconds with AI? The entire education system was literally made to keep people bound. Same thing with finances. We know this. It's older. I don't think it's by default. I don't think these people are purposely like, I'm gonna force someone to not learn the truth. I think it's just so old and archaic that you can't even keep up with what's happening in today's day and age, right? Think about your kids. Think about how they're truly experiencing reality in comparison to how you currently live yours now, right? AI is replacing everything. And so for my kids, my goal is to get them involved. Not only that, but I want to learn the real skills. What is the real skills? Prompt engineering, understanding how AI works. This is way better to understand than understanding a random factor definition. This is so important for people to grasp. You need to understand this. You need to change and adapt. If you're not changing and adapting, how could you expect your kid to to have a bright future, right? You're telling them to get a degree, but they can't even get a job after they got a degree. I just talked to somebody who's been looking for a job for 2 years and he has 2 degrees, right? These things are old. I don't care if I hire a new employee. I do not care what's on his resume or his degree. I care how much tokens he can use in 1 day to solve a problem. I care about what's his prompt engineering look like. I care about how does he use Claude Code. That's the only thing I care about, 'cause quite frankly, I don't care about his skills. I can get that in 3.5 seconds. His skills are irrelevant. Adaptability is everything. Autodidacts, which is the ability to learn anything at will, is the skill you and your children need to adopt, not how to randomly memorize facts and information, adapt with the times, or get left behind like always.
