Wall Street Just Bent the Knee to Crypto in 10 Days

Alexander Lorenzo breaks down a week in May when the CFTC, SEC, and major exchanges like CME and NYSE approved Bitcoin futures, on-chain custody, and 24/7 trading. He argues Wall Street has permanently shifted toward crypto infrastructure after years of resistance.

The 4 agencies that run all of Wall Street just triggered the biggest crypto shift America has ever seen before. For the past 4 years, Wall Street called it fake money. Then in 10 days, the 4 institutions that run the entirety of the US financial system literally all bent a knee to crypto and created their own blockchain version of their own products. Listen. On May 28th, the CFTC approves Calciex with a Bitcoin perpetual futures, the first U.S. regulation Bitcoin perpetual future ever. And on the same day, the CFTC clears Coinbase to route perps through Bermuda. Perps were the one product that the traditional financial system walled out of America for a decade, and it was completely eliminated in one day. That same day, May 28th, the SEC registers Paxos as a clearing agency under Section 17. This is a blockchain-native company sitting next to the DTCC. The DTCC has owned U.S. Equity clearing for 50 years. Now it has an on-chain brother. Then on May 29th, Jeff Spreckner, the man who owns the New York Stock Exchange, gets on stage at Bernstein Conference and says that Hyperliquid is an offshore decentralized exchange run by 11 people, is bigger than NASDAQ. He told the room he's basically meeting the founders, called them very smart. That is the NYSE owner publicly admitting that an unregulated decentralized exchange outtrades the biggest exchange in America. The same day, May 29th, the CME deletes the weekend trades. 24/7 crypto futures go live at 4 PM Friday. The CME gap, the chart pattern every trader has used for a decade, just stopped existing. The same day, the DTCC plugs its tokenization service into Stellar, a public blockchain, by the way. The DTC custody securities including Russell 1000 names and US Treasuries in scope are heading onto a public chain. The clock is gone. The custody perimeter is gone. I need you to look at the dates: May 27th, May 28th, another thing on May 28th, 2 things on May 29th. 4 institutions, 4 rails, 10 days. Derivatives, Coinbase, clearing, Paxos, the exchange Hyperliquid, and the NYSE owner's own admission. The clock. CME to DTCC, And basically stellar. Nobody said the word surrender, but the receipts said it for them. You cannot unsee this video ever again. Crypto's here.
