Wall Street’s 234-Year Closing Bell is Officially Over

The SEC and CFTC are moving toward 24-hour stock trading, mirroring crypto markets. The SEC chairman said he wants U.S. stocks to trade continuously like crypto already does. Markets only closed historically because settlement was manual; blockchain settlement is automated and never stops.

So the SEC just scheduled a meeting to kill the way that Wall Street has operated for 234 years, and everybody's looking the exact opposite way because it doesn't really make sense to them. The head of the SEC wants American stocks to trade all day and night, just like crypto does. July 23rd, 2026, the SEC announced a roundtable for September 17th. The topic is 24-hour trading in US stocks. Now look at the actual words. That the chairman used, it reveals something important. He said that he looks forward to, quote, aligning US equity markets with markets that already trade continuously. If you didn't know, American stocks only trade 9:30 in the morning to 4:00 in the afternoon, Monday through Friday. So you have to ask the question, what trades right now continuously? And that's crypto. That's the entire list. So the top securities regulator in America just did something that nobody wants to talk about. He described crypto schedule as the standard stocks should be actually moving towards right now. And it's not only the Security Exchange Commission. The CFTC regulates futures and commodities. Back in May, they put out a staff advisory on 24/7 trading, clearing, and settlement. They just extended the comment window on running futures around the clock. It actually closes August 27th. So 2 of the most important federal regulators, same problem, same season. And there's actually a 3rd piece. On July 22nd, Senate Republicans released an updated Clarity Act text, 616 pages. One SEC commissioner put the boundary plainly: moving against activity on a blockchain does not, in her words, place that activity outside of securities laws. So this is not a free-for-all. It's the rules being extended to cover the new plumbing only. Now, here's why this is bigger than convenience. Markets don't close because of technology. They close because settlement is partly manual by humans and people have to actually go home at night. Blockchain settlement doesn't need anybody to be awake. That's the only reason this conversation is even possible. So crypto never had to win an argument. It set a standard, and the standard is being copied by the institutions that used to fight it. Now let me be real with you. This is a roundtable, not a rule. Nobody has voted anything yet. It could take years, but that's exactly why you position yourself completely early. This is going to be the biggest bull market we have ever experienced in cryptocurrency, and it's time to make money. By the way, we actually give away a tool for $1 that automatically researches coins for you, recommends buys and sells, and you could actually execute the trades for $1. Go to the link in my bio.
