Alexander Lorenzo reflects on how crises expose what we're really made of, tracing his own journey from investing to yoga, meditation, and ayahuasca before arriving at faith in Jesus. He argues that our hidden motives always surface under pressure.

A lot of people, they don't think about the motives behind what they do. You could even see it in investing. When a storm hits, you really see why you were doing it. Because a lot of people do things for very, very weak reasons, like very weak reasons. They'll do it because they want to get a yacht. They'll do it because they want to get a car or whatever it is. It's very weak. It's not built on a solid foundation. When things hit the fan like COVID or the bear market hits in crypto or whatever the case is, you really find out whose house was built on solid foundation. Like, what is the best foundation? And so at that point, you go on a seeking journey, you go seeking the purpose of life. Okay, is it yoga? Is it, uh, meditation? Is it ayahuasca? Like, there's something spiritual about this world. It's like, how the heck did this just perfectly come together, like nature and the world like this, right? Let's base our reality off of something that's not of ourselves. When you do that, you ultimately find that it's easier to prove that Jesus is alive than to disprove him.
