Welcome to the Start Tiny podcast. I'm your host Ali bjork and in 2019 I launched my first ever tiny offer for $27 and have since generated over $5 million in revenue. After starting an industry wide low ticket revolution, I've been helping other entrepreneurs launch and scale their own tiny and on this podcast we pull back the curtain on exactly how they're doing it so that you can do it too.
What is up everybody? Welcome back to another episode of the Start Tiny Show. I am recording this one in my car so the audio is not going to be as fantastic as usual, but sometimes when you got to talk about something, you've got to talk about it. And I think what we are talking about today is a really important subject for everyone. So I'm super excited to dive into that conversation with you guys. But I am on my way to the airport to hop on a plane and go to an event in Calgary. I am going to be speaking about Facebook ads at Dipesh Mondalia's Facebook ad mastermind that he's hosting this week on Thursday and Friday. And this is another very full circle moment for me. I admired Depeche's business from afar for a very long time and I always wished that I could be as good at ads as he was. And then I bought his course and like I learned so much from his course and then we became friends because we were in the same mastermind and it's just like online business is wild, you guys. Like sometimes you don't even know what friendships you're going to form or where you're going to meet people and what's going to happen. So just a reminder to always be putting yourself out there, always be friendly to people because you never know who is a potential friend or business contact or like the opportunities to network are endless and you just never know what's going to come from it. So that being said, today I got to host one of our weekly strategy calls, Inside of My Mastermind which is called the Seven Figure Year. It is for coaches and experts who want to grow a seven figure year business. And it's a lot of people who are coaching others in their expertise. So you know, it's email marketers who are teaching other people email marketing or people who are ad strategists teaching ads or you know, bookkeepers teaching bookkeepers. So it's people who are in like the expert field right the expert industry, where they're sharing what they've learned in their entire lifespan of their businesses, and now they're sharing that with other people. So it's really cool to be in a group like that where they're truly stepping into their next level. They are building group programs and memberships and, of course, tiny offers that are helping feed all of those things so that they can grow further faster. But I was coming up with a plan. It's a Q A format every single week. So the one of the girls submitted a question this week, and it came with a Google Doc, and the Google Doc that she submitted was called Get Shit Done, Get Shit Figured Out, I think is what it said. Something like that. So I knew we were getting down to business today. And she wanted to map out all of the different offers that she had and she wanted. I know from coaching her for the last two years that she's got a very specific financial goal in mind. And what she had on this document for, you know, how much she wanted to make per month was not in alignment with what she's previously told me she wants to make. So right away, I was like, why are we setting the goals in this document so low compared to what I know you really want? Like, why are you limiting yourself? Why are you not making a plan to hit the ultimate goal? Why is this the smaller goal? So right away, we got to see some of the things that were not in alignment for her, some of the things that she's saying out loud that she wants, but then subconsciously not allowing herself to have for one reason or another. She had just recently launched a program, and she set the limit at 12 on how many people she wanted to be in this program. So program's 3K. She wanted 12 people in it at a time. So again, we're coming up to some points of resistance that, you know, I. I told her you can't see the label inside of the bottle. And that's why you get a coach who can point some of these things out to you where there's inconsistencies and there's some limiting beliefs that are showing up that you might not even know are there. So I. About this program that she was selling for 3K and limiting to 12 people, I said, what would it be like to serve a hundred people all at the same time inside of this program? Who would you need to be to be able to serve 100 people all at one time? And I could see the reaction of, like, oh, my gosh, I don't think I could do that. And I know I have. I've felt that same way. I have been in that exact scenario. And I know what it feels like to have 130 people sitting in a zoom room waiting for an answer from you and the stress that you can feel if you're not going get to answer everyone's questions. And it's like the people pleaser in me just is terrified of that scenario. And like, what if people leave the call and they're mad at me because I didn't get to answer their question because there's too many people here and what if this and what if that and like, what if they quit the program or they want a refund because I didn't answer their question? Or what if they don't get enough time with me and they feel like they didn't get the answer they need? Or what if I can't solve their problem? Or what if, what if, what if, what if, what if? So all these questions that when you are leading a group coaching program or when you're selling a course and like, these ideas keep coming up of like some iteration of I'm not enough, I'm not doing enough, my answers aren't enough. And this is so common, especially among female entrepreneurs, that we feel like even if we give it our best, it's still not enough for one reason or another. So I would really encourage you to think about this conversation. Look at where you're subconsciously sabotaging what you're allowing inside of your business and what you're saying that you want versus how you're actually showing up for yourself. Because I've, I bet you a lot of money that there are some discrepancies between what you're saying you want and how you're acting. So when you can start figuring out, if you think about, okay, say my goal is $100,000 a month, how many people do I need in this program? So we did the math for her, right? It was like 60 people a month joining her program, paying in full, not even a payment plan to hit her goal. So sitting with that feeling of like, what if 60 people came in? What would that look like? How do I show up like that online and being willing to attract enough people to have 60 people joining my program and then actually doing the math behind it, saying, okay, if you want 60 people to join and you want to sell into this program via email, you need to have at least 1,000 qualified leads coming into your email list every single week or not week, month, who are going to See this offer if you want whatever 3% of those people to end up buying. And when you think about it that way, you can feel it in your body where resistance starts coming up, where some of those worthiness things or like the fear factors start showing up. And then you can see where your next block is to start working on. If it's, I can't serve that many people all at once. Okay, fine. Where do you need to put up better boundaries? Where do you need to get clear on context for people and get clear on what's allowed and what's not allowed in the program? Where do you maybe need to pull back the access to you a little bit? Maybe you take away Voxer. Maybe you set rules for yourself around when you're checking slack or when you're communicating with people. I had to put some really strict rules around being tagged in Facebook groups because I couldn't handle was one of the reasons why I scaled my program back for a really long time is because it felt like too much in my nervous system. I went from. I mean, you guys know my story, right? I went from three, maybe $3,000 a month to $100,000 a month in a span of two months. And. And my nervous system didn't catch up for a long time. And then I was managing a team and then Covid hit and like, the. The fact that I survived it all is amazing to me. But there is so much to be said for learning how to regulate your nervous system and learning how to feel where things show up in your body and staying in your body and figuring out what it is for you that's keeping you stuck. If you feel like you're afraid you'd let people down. Okay, let's dig into that. Where does that come from? How do you stop feeling like, how can you flip it and think about how many people you're not able to help because you're still playing small, because you're not showing up to your full capacity, you're not living up to your full potential. How do you flip it so that it's not about not answering all 60 people's questions on the call if that's the thing you're afraid of? That's what I was afraid of. So how do you flip it into like, I'm going to put really good boundaries in place and people are going to be grateful when they get their questions answered, but they're not going to be disappointed because they're still getting everything they need from the group, even if they don't get a Question answered that day. How do you build a program that's not dependent on you? There's no codependency on. Like, I need Ali's blessing to move forward. I need permission from Ali to get my question answered. How do you start answering questions that provide the know how in the strategy to people so they can go and solve their own problems? Because ultimately, I mean, it's like parenting, right? Like, you want to be able to raise clients that can think for themselves, who can solve their own problems because you've provided the guidance, but you're not holding their hand so much that there's codependency issues now. And it gets weird. So that's what my, my big takeaway is for all of you, is to think through some of that, like, how do you really start playing bigger? And how do you align what you're saying you want with how you're showing up? And if you're, if you're only doing a quarterly launch and allowing 15 people into it and you're only charging $3,000, there's some things that are not in alignment with saying that you want to make a million dollars a year. So be okay and safe increasing your prices. Where can you be okay and safe serving way more people all at one time? Where can you put in better boundaries for yourself so that you're not letting people run your life who are in your programs? Or if you're still serving clients one on one, or if you are doing done for you work and you're letting people creep further and further into your life and you're getting further away from what you want, where can you draw some really firm lines in the sand and get back to what you want and have a really clear, a clear boundary and what I call like a velvet rope around you? You need to hire people to support that and protect you. There's a reason why I have someone checking my email and managing my inbox. It's because I need that velvet rope. Because I get super depressed when people ask for. It's not entirely true anymore, but when you work really hard on a digital product and somebody's like, meh, this isn't what I thought it was. I want my money back. Even though you can see that they went through every module and downloaded every worksheet, but you have a no money like or no no questions asked guarantee. I had to remove myself from some of these interactions because it was affecting my energy. So anywhere your energy is being tapped, anywhere you feel like you're not being lit up by your Business. That's also a really great opportunity to start thinking about where you can hire. And I will also add on to say it's really hard to find a safe place to have some of these conversations and to have a team that has your back or have a coach that has your back and a community that has your back. And we'll point some of this stuff out to you lovingly and let you keep growing and expanding or maybe even pivoting into your next level. So takeaway today is journal on what comes up for you when you think about enrolling 100 people all at once. What comes up for you when you think about who you would need to become to show up as people. That if you look at who you think your competitors are in the space and you look at what you think they have that you don't have, feel that too. Like, what if you just woke up tomorrow and decided to show up with that same energy? I had a conversation with a photographer that I work with and I was like, I'm gonna fly out to you and we're gonna have a photo shoot and I'm gonna show up with Marie Forleo energy because that's how I feel. That's what I want represented on my website is this fun alter ego that maybe I haven't always shown up like that in my business. You know, I've been quieter or I've played small or I've played down or I haven't shown up in my full authent in the past. And I. I think it's time for me and for you and for anybody listening, show up as yourself, play bigger. Go all out, stop hiding and downplaying your greatness and just go out and get it. All right? I hope you all have a fantastic day. If you're interested in joining Seven Figure Year, if you want to mastermind an amazing community, we have such fun at retreats that we host in Palm Springs.
