Back to another episode of Rich Life Reframe. I'm excited to get to chat with you guys.
Today we're talking about direct response copywriting. So the well written sales page gives the ability, gives you the ability to turn words into money. It's amazing. This magic opportunity that we have that there are almost limitless people available on the Internet that you can reach with ads, organic traffic connections, relationships, all sorts of different ways. And you selling info products, you are creating money out of basically thin air. I remember I had an ad running one time and somebody was a troll, so it wasn't a positive comment necessarily, but he said info products are basically the stock market. You're training goods that don't exist. And I was like, I mean, on one hand maybe I should be offended by that, but on the other hand, how cool is that? He's right. We're creating things with our brains that we can sell that are pixel based. People open them on their computers and it turns into money for us as the expert. So I thought it was really cool if you can do it right, if you can learn these skills, because it's definitely learnable. I think that's some. Yep. See, that's my next bullet point. It is learnable. Like you're. It's not like you're either born a writer or you're not born a writer. This is a skill that you can hone in and that you can really figure out how to fill in these formulas and make it work for you. When I was studying direct response copy a couple of years ago, when I was starting to build funnels and write apps for people, I kept seeing similar things. Like if you think about when you go to a website like buzzfeed, if you've ever seen that site and the headlines are written in such a way that you're like, oh, I don't want to Click this. But I have to. That happened to me this morning when I was up getting ready for this presentation. I saw I was stupid. Well, I was curious about what's going on in the world because there's so many crazy things happening in the US right now. So I pulled up a news site and within seconds I was pulled into one of those websites where you have to click and click and click just to get to the little tiny piece of information that grabbed your attention. But there's something about that, that even though I had all this other stuff I wanted to do, that was not my priority. All of a sudden I was being sucked into this headline and I got lost for like 10 minutes on this article. So the ability to learn how to write like that, to take words like, you know, the biggest kept secret, or, you know, this weird hack, or, you know, there's certain ways that increase the dopamine in our brains where we have to know what it is, we have to know what's next. So according to Dan Kennedy, writing is just the skill of recycling and reorganizing ideas, themes, words and phrases. This is the book that I highly recommend from Dan. It's called the Ultimate Sales Letter. It's a little bit old school because it's, it's talking about sales letters, like what you would fold up and put in the mail with the stamp on it and send out to all sorts of different people. But you can take those exact same concepts and turn them into a sales page. What is now the way that we're selling? So we're not writing, if you think about it that way, we're just assembling all these different pieces. So if you have the different segments we're learning about, the things that our brain requires to have an emotional connection to make that decision, to be inspired that we're going to get the same result. We're just picking out these different pieces and putting them together. So one of the exercises that is recommended is to, for one, think about what you would do if this was an in sale or in person sales meeting. So if you were at the head of a boardroom, you've got your PowerPoint up there and you have an opportunity to watch people's faces and you're saying like, oh, well, this product can also do xyz. Like think of yourself as a vacuum salesman who's trying to get into people's homes so you can demonstrate the product. Like, how do we take that same, same experiential thing that you can create when you're in person? When you can actually demonstrate your product, how do we get that same result or that same desire for the product? Just through our written words. So one thing that you can do is actually take note cards, these three by five, you know, index cards, I guess, and start writing things down that you would want to tell people that they would really need to know, that they would really need to understand before purchasing your product. But also remember that we have six seconds. Because it's the Internet. People have sensory input coming at them at all times. Even if you get their attention. Even if we do the A in the Aida, if we get their attention, we have six seconds to capitalize on it to get them to decide. Okay, I'm going to keep scrolling. Oh, I'm going to click off. I'm not interested. This isn't what I thought it was going to be. So we have to nail it in the first six seconds. So no pressure, but this is, this is what we're up against when it comes to digital marketing right now.
All right, thanks so much for being here with me today. I am so excited that you're here. I would love if you would subscribe to this podcast. And also, as just as a reminder, we do have a monthly competition where when you leave a review within the last, you know, 30 days from the giveaway, we will choose the best review and that reviewer will actually win a spot in my tiny Offer Lab signature program where you'll learn all about creating your very own tiny offer front end.
Funnel for your business.
And I'm really, really excited about it. So if you could leave that review and make it really good, because the best one, the best review will win. And we have a team of judges that go through the reviews and we choose them by hand after reading all of them. So it's a really fun competition and it's really cool to see how excited people are when we announce the winner each month. So thank you so much for being here and I look forward to chatting with you on the next podcast.
