In this podcast, we'll be going through quick reframes that can help you get your mind right so you can truly live the life that you've always dreamed of. That being said, let's hop into this episode.
Welcome back to another episode. In this episode, we are going to go off on a little bit different topic than we previously discussed. I'm usually, you know, I'm a smart girl, I'm strategic. I like talking about tactics, I like talking about mindset. But today we're gonna go a little woo woo and we are gonna talk about the upper limiting issue that you might be facing. So the topic of today's episode is why you're really hitting a wall. I've experienced this inside of my business too many times to call it a coincidence. So we're gonna break it down a little bit more into why you might be hitting this wall, maybe what that looks like for you, and what kind of symptoms you might be having of this upper limit problem. If you're not familiar with this concept, I know it's been talked about widely by some well known people. I think Marie Forleo has talked about this and probably I think Gabby Bernstein has as well. But it originated in a book by Guy Hendricks that was all about hitting that upper limit. And the principle is that there's this element of self sabotage that starts happening when you are ready to expand beyond your current level. So whether that's when I say unintentional, I mean it could be appliances at your house going on the fritz. Like maybe your washing machine goes out, maybe your dryer goes out like mine did this morning. It could be, you know, getting in a car accident. It could be falling off of the curb and spraining your ankle. It could be a child breaking their arm. And these are all oddly specific examples because all of these things happened to me. The car, the falling off of a curb and hurting my ankle, my son breaking his arm. All of these happened within a span of one or two different weeks where it was too many negative things happening in a row to just be coincidence or at least that's how it felt. So I remember telling one of my friends at the time, like, oh, man, I'm just having the worst week. Here are all the horrible things that are happening to me. And I'm supposed to be launching this new program, and, like, all of this stuff is happening and I can't even. I can't even focus on what I'm supposed to be doing because all of this chaos is, like, going on behind the scenes. And I remember her just nonchalantly being like, oh, well, you're hitting an upper limit. You're just having an upper limiting problem. You just gotta get through it and then everything will be fantastic. And I remember, like, what the heck is an upper limiting problem? And why. Why is this happening to me right now? So she went on to explain. I went on to read the book. Essentially, if you believe that there are forces at play greater than us, whether, whether you call it the universe, whether you call it God, whether you're spiritual, whether you're religious, whatever that looks like for you, sometimes, if you think of the big picture of the universe, that's how I'll refer to it in this video. If you think about the universe, there are things that can happen while you're trying to experience into your greatest good. There are tests where it feels like you're being tested and you're being pushed into continuing to play small, into not expanding. It's our. It's our egos or something trying to keep us in a safe place where if we're tested and we continue to push through and keep expanding and keep challenging ourselves and keep moving beyond our comfort zones, that's where you'll hit a whole new level inside of your lives and your businesses. So every single time I'm about to launch a new program or, you know, speak at a new event, I will get congested. I have lost my voice. The night before webinars, I have had these challenges where it is. It is so obvious that it's related to the thing that I'm about to launch, that there's no way in my mind that there can't be a force greater than ourselves. So whether you believe in this stuff or not, I have a friend that I talked to, and she was having a really bad week, and I was trying to encourage her. I was like, hey, you know, you're just hitting the upper limit. Just keep pushing through. And even if it's a placebo effect, even if it only gives you a piece of encouragement or something fun to believe in to keep yourself moving forward when Things are really, really hard. That's enough for me. So if you've ever noticed that this happens when you're up leveling, it could be physical, like, it could be congestion, it could be losing your voice, it could be getting a rash on your arm like I have right now. There are things in our physicality, in our biology that we can't always explain the interaction between our human selves and the spiritual world or what's beyond our physical presence on this earth. So I showed you some ways that this has shown up in my life and some ways that you can start moving past this is first of all, just recognizing it and giving yourself permission to lean into the suck and be like you. Yes, things feel hard right now. Yes, I might be hitting the upper limit. But recognize that this is you hitting the edges of your comfort zone and you're about to blow right past that comfort zone, right? So when you start to feel like everything's going wrong, start looking at what you're doing in your business, what your brain is doing for your beliefs. Like, where are you growing? Where are you expanding? Where are you trying to be contracted? Where are you trying to be pulled back in? And then just keep sprinting forward as fast as you can past those comfort zones. So when you notice that the problem has started, just take a moment and recognize that this is where your upper limit is and you're about to expand and grow and things are about to explode in the best way possible if you can just continue pushing it through. So just feel, take that gut check moment of what, what is happening when you've gone past your limit, like, do you want to withdraw situation. Say you have an interview coming up that you're really nervous about and you're trying to think of every reason possible to cancel it. When you go on that interview and you've given yourself evidence that, okay, I can do this, I didn't die, it was actually great. Now you have a new comfort level. Now you have a new zone of which you can exist in. So be gentle with yourself. If you're feeling that resistance, if you're feeling like this is too much, too many things are going wrong. I can't do this. I wasn't cut out for this. Just give yourself again. I always talk about giving ourselves grace, but really, really having that self compassion of looking at where you're at and just being patient and just giving yourself that moment of graciousness and self compassion and, you know, giving yourself that pat on the back and recognition. You know what? This is really freaking Hard and you are doing something brand new, but you're doing great, you're doing a great job and just keep putting one foot in front of the next and just keep moving forward. So then look at where can you build momentum, where can you build habits, where can you keep yourself accountable beyond what your willpower alone can do for yourself? When you create consistency and you create that momentum and you have the habits built in to just keep moving forward, if you have a support team that keeps pushing you forward, if you have hacks that you have figured out to, you know, get yourself to do things. For me, it's public accountability. So if I say I'm going to launch this thing and I get people to start showing up, and even if as it gets closer to that date, I'm like, oh, I really don't wanna do this, this is outta my comfort zone. I'm not ready for this. If I've committed to people, I will keep pushing through my own limits just to make sure that I'm honoring the commitments that I've made with other people. So those are the few different things that you can do. If you feel like everything's going wrong and your world is crumbling. These are ways that you can keep pushing forward and have that belief that things are about to get so much better and be so much more beautiful in your life that it's worth continuing to embrace the suck. As my mindset coach, my mindset coach is Tracy Litt. She's absolutely amazing. You should follow her shout out to Tracy. Just keep moving forward and realizing that things are about to get better. And if you have that belief, if you honestly feel that in your soul, it becomes that self fulfilling prophecy where you're gonna see the best in things, you're gonna be looking for the good. So therefore you're gonna see the good. Hope you're having a fantastic day. Thank you so much for being here. As a reminder, I want to tell you that with these episodes primarily on Apple itunes, as a podcast, we do a monthly drawing. Our December one is going to be coming up in the next couple weeks where if you leave a review on the podcast on Apple itunes, we choose the best review every single month and we give them access to my signature program which is currently. It's a 2k self paced version of the course is what we're promoting right now and you get access to that for free. So the best review, we comb through all the reviews we get every single month and we pick the one that we vote on as a team, the one that you know, has the most detail, has the best story, has the most connection. And we give the winner access to my signature program, which is a $2,000 value. Last month, our winner, Libby. Super excited to be in the program. She's already making great strides going through the content, getting things created, and it's been really, really fun to watch. So you could have that same experience if you just leave a review on Apple itunes on the Rich Life Lab pod. If you are here in YouTube format, please leave me a comment.
