Allison Maslan talks about the trap of people-pleasing in business. She argues that leaders need to make decisions aligned with their vision instead of trying to please everyone, and that boldness and momentum matter more than universal approval.
The people pleaser, middle child. I had to learn in business, you're not going to be liked by everyone. And that's actually a good thing. Because those people that will align with your vision, you will attract them. And those that are not in alignment, you will repel them. And you need to make the right decisions for your company, not about pleasing everybody in your company. Because if you're doing that, you're going to be held in the past. You're not going to be moving forward. Yes, you want people to come on and get on board, but you also sometimes have to be brave enough and bold enough to draw the line. And if you're really sticking to your vision, you'll have so much more momentum. Because guess what? They'll jump into and they will respect you.
