Empower Your Mind: Take Control of Your Thoughts

This is a YouTube video titled "Empower Your Mind: Take Control of Your Thoughts" created in December 2022. It features a conversational interview between Allison Maslan and Joe Stump discussing personal growth, leadership, and a self-coaching method called Private Work. Allison Maslan hosts the discussion, sharing insights on scaling business and life, while Joe Stump explains the methodology and benefits of Private Work, a daily introspective practice involving meditation, journaling, and contemplation to cultivate insightfulness and transform thinking patterns. The conversation also covers the importance of self-awareness, intentional thinking, and integrating learning for personal and business growth.
Is that if you want to grow your business by 50%, you got to grow yourself by 100% just to hold the extra weight in the responsibility of the business. That's what private work is. It's growing yourself so you can actually hold the increase in the size of the business and the team.
And yeah, I think a lot of people don't realize they want to jump right into strategy. And the truth is, is that if you don't grow yourself, you're going to sabotage your company. Hi everyone. Too many business owners are stuck trying to do everything themselves and their businesses are suffering as a result. And I don't want you to be one of those people. I am Alison Maslin and my company, Pinnacle Global Network has helped thousands of business owners scale their companies using our framework, the Scale it method. All business owners face similar challenges when it comes to growth. So on this podcast we're delivering the tactics you need to finally reach that next level in business. Build your dream team and scale beyond eight figures. So today I'm super excited about helping you scale your business and your life because I have my dear, dear friend for many years, Joe stump on here with me. And Joe has been in the coaching business for 39 years over 10, 10,000 hours of one on one coaching sessions. He's the founder of by referral only and today it is one of the top three coaching companies in the real estate space and lending space. And five years ago he started really, I think this is his legacy work but we'll talk about that more where he began teaching his self coaching model private work to his clients. And then this past summer, August 2022 he published we're going to talk about today Private work which is a transformational book and process is the art and science of cultivating insightfulness. Quickly his real estate agents began referring their clients to the platform he build called private work.com and he's got already over 1500 people on there using this daily. And Joe's really making this process available to the world for free. And so I wanted you all to experience it. Joe has taught this to our clients and many of them are practicing this on a daily basis. Joe, welcome to the scale it method.
Oh, I'm so excited. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. You know I want to you you gave me a quote many years ago. He said if you want to grow your business by 50%. You got to grow yourself by 100% just to hold the extra weight in responsibility of the business. And I. I tether to that thought a lot because that's what private work is. It's growing yourself so you can actually hold the increase in the size of the business and the team and. And what you envision as your grandest possibility. You gotta be able to hold that. And that's the personal development side.
Yeah. I think a lot of people don't realize they want to jump right into strategy. And the truth is, is that if you don't grow yourself, you're going to sabotage your company. But I want to go back a little bit, Jo, because, you know, if we're talking about evolving as a leader and I look at myself from when I met you, you know, when we met and, you know, Joe and I worked at the gym together in my past business together, and, you know, it really was. I just have to let people know, you've heard me tell this a million times, that Joe really is responsible for or inspired me to start this company that I'm running now, Pinnacle Global Network. Fourteen years ago, we sat at a restaurant and talk about vision. He kind of penciled it out for me on a napkin, and here we are today. And so, you know, the opportunity to learn from this man. So you want to stay on this entire podcast today because it's going to be riveting. But when we talk about leadership and growth, Joe, the amount of work you've done and I've done over these 14 years. Right. Or a lifetime, really, on ourselves, that's really what creates the dynamic growth in a business.
Yeah. I. We can only attract people into our lives that are at our level of awareness or slightly below or slightly above. So, you know, when we find people trying to grow their business and they can't attract the right people, it's really a reflection of where they're at. So when you grow yourself, you're able to resonate at a higher level of consciousness or whatever that, you know, frequency would be to, like, where the. It's. The air gets rare, you know, the higher you grow yourself. And that's the beautiful part about, is you just start attracting a much higher quality coach, in your case, your. Your leadership team and people that can take you to where you want to go. And that's what's happened for you over the years, is the quality of your team has. Is exponential from where you want to. Remember when we're first getting started and we're trying to hire people and yes, the level of consciousness they were at was where you were pretty, like, trying to figure it out. And, you know.
Yeah.
As you got certainty, you attracted people who had that level of certainty to get you to where you're at. So that's the value, you know.
Yeah. And it really ties into what you're doing here. And, you know, I always talk about vision. Vision, vision. Like, everything starts with vision. But the truth is there's a step beyond that because it's hard, hard to have a clear vision if you don't have that insight within yourself of what you really want and what you're truly capable of. Now, I know this process, the private work. You took many of our clients through this process. You came in to pinnacle and taught this. And like I said, many of them are working through. Can you just, you know, share what is private work?
Explain that it's a little like ice cream, you know, it's hard to explain what it tastes like until you taste. Then you taste and go, oh, that's what it is to me. So I think to me for what it is. It's like a yoga class where I go and stretch my. My muscles. It's like a CrossFit class where I, you know, build endurance and speed. It's. You go to Marcus, you know, and Marcus, you know, you go there to get high and tight, as he would.
Say, you know, in your trainer for over 20 years, 25 years, I think.
Right. And he pushes you to the. To the limit, you know, like, he. When you go in and work with Marcus, he's interested in taking it to the edge of your current potential, you know, and maybe slightly beyond. And then when you're done, you're like. And you grew a little more. And same with all the other domains. If it's crossing or. Yoga and private work is a combination of meditation, contemplation, or introspection and journaling. So when we put those three together, what we want to do is what Cal Newport talks about in his book Deep Work, is take our cognitive capacity to its limit. Like, and grow your concentration muscles, you know, developing your imagination muscles. And it's a practice just like yoga's practice. Crossfits are practiced. Trapeze. When you're out on the trapeze, that's practice. And so private work is that practice to develop the. The concentration, the imagination and, you know, get you to a place where you can see what are those inner conflicts that hold you back? Because we all have. We have a wish, we have a desire, but then we have to confront the inner conflict and wherever that came from, you know, early development or some trauma in your life, you know, we have to work through that stuff. And when we do, you know, we can get more of a glimpse of what we really want. Because isn't that true? You can get anything you want if you really know what you want. And that's always evolving. Like what we want.
Yes.
The more we experience life, the more we go, oh, I think I'd like to add this to my life. Like you just added Mexico to your life. You know, you keep growing externally and internally. So work is a methodology to accelerate all that.
And, you know, I love it. I also love that it kind of forces you, well, if you commit to it, to stop and give yourself the space to think. Because I think sometimes we avoid these things because we don't really want to look at them. Right. And it's easier to stay busy. But then the busyness really isn't getting us anywhere. It's just, you're just running on that hamster wheel. Whereas if you can stop, which often feels for so many business owners is, I don't have time, I can't stop. Well, if you stop and do the introspective work, you'll actually move forward faster because you're not wasting time and energy on this old stuff that's holding you back. What are your thoughts on that?
You know, and we have so many different parts of our personality. The one you're speaking to is the one, the pusher, that all of our entrepreneurs experience. They push, push, push. It's a to do list, next thing to do, next thing to do, next thing to do. And, you know, we get very, very associated with our pusher. Like, that defines us. It's our achieving self.
Yeah, it's beautiful.
Part of us, and some of us, like Lance Armstrong, it's not the bike, you know, it's. It's his relationship with his father that was driving him, you know, but he. Driving, driving. Anything to achieve, anything to achieve. And the opposite of that self is do nothing. And even those words, do nothing, the push yourself has no way to even identify with do nothing. But it's a. It's the part that actually brings equilibrium to the pusher. It's the part that makes pushing even more enjoyable when you have a part of you that does nothing. And I mean, do nothing, like sit, putter and ponder, Go to Mexico for three months and just look at the beauty of life. And with no cell phone. No, no, no, no distraction. But it's just being and that, you know, takes. I think you get to that place, Allison, where after you've become successful, you got your money and you got your vision. You're clear. We call it survival, stability. Stability to success, to significance. As you're going from building something successful to really making something significant, it requires more time doing nothing.
Yeah. Because that's where the breakthroughs happen.
Isn't that true?
It's been interesting for me probably at least for the last four years. I started taking off one week a month, and then in this last year, year and a half, I've been taking two weeks off a month. Which, you know, for most people, it just seems absurd. But the interesting thing is we've grown the, you know, faster than ever. Because what I'm able to bring to the table, number one, I feel like more energy than I've had in years. And just the clarity and the, you know, that 30,000 foot view where you can really zoom out and you get the one aha. That solves all the other things that you're running all over the place that's taking you days and days and days to complete.
Yeah.
It's just. But you can't. You know, for me, I know I needed to step away to clear my brain so that I could think, what does this company really need? Right. Or what do I really want? Or how can we do better for our clients? How can we help them become successful faster? You know, all that happens when I'm away. And so I believe that's what private work really gives people an opportunity to tap into. Can you. Are there some examples? Can you share, like maybe some of the people you've worked with? You don't have to share names if you don't want to. But what have been some of the experiences?
I just want to piggyback on what you just said, because when you have that space, you ask different questions, and it really is the quality of the question. We've heard that a million times. Is the quality of the question your direction? Yeah, but when you just said, how do I grow my company? You know, how do I, you know, create more possibilities for this division of my unit? You know, being able to take. Get away from the doing part and do the contemplation. I call introspection, not reflection so much, but introspect, like go within and really sit with the question. Leonardo da Vinci, the guy named Michael Gelp, wrote a book called how to Think Like Leonardo da Vinci, and he was my source for this. This is when started crafting private work. You know, I'VE been a big fan of Leonardo da Vinci and he's like this incredible Renaissance man who had so many domains and, and it was his amazing human being, probably the most creative guy that ever lived. And he started every day with a question and then he would just keep asking that question in dozens of different ways and just like let it sit in his unconscious mind. Yeah. And so private work is doing that daily. I call it the work before you go to work. So we go out into the world to do our work, but before we do our work, we do our work. So we work on us anywhere from 10 minutes to 45 minutes, depending on what you have. And the, the more you do it, the more spent time you want to spend in it because the, the results are directly proportional to what you put in is what you get out. So, you know, if I, you know, I can have 10 minutes first thing in the morning before you engage in any outside stimulus to give you a question for the day and take that question and just work with it through the course of the day. And if you compound that over weeks and months and years, what you're doing is creating fresh thought worms. There's some very research out of the University of Toronto where these scientists discover that a thought worm is a string of thoughts that come together and they run in our mind for about 90 seconds. They say it's about 6 to 100 thought worms a day. You've heard the thought that maybe a 50,000 thoughts a day. But they broke it down to the beginning of a thought and the end of a thought. They called it a thought worm. And the thought worm is something that we feed or we starve. And usually when we are doing reflective work, we can write something down, we can go, oh, that keeps coming back. Well, that's a thought worm that has been fed over and over again. And so private work is first helping you see what is repetitive. Like you start to notice the pattern appearing and then from there you can actually make some choices. That's self awareness. I'm making a choice and notice that that thought keeps appearing. What can I do to either strengthen it, lengthen it, or starve it and replace it with something else? Because we don't really get rid of of thinking. We replace thinking with something fresh and absent of, you know, deliberately every day saying, I'm going to put a fresh thought in. And imagine doing that over the course of five or six years. You've got 6200 fresh thought worms. And that's where transformation takes place, is it's Fresh thinking. And I love that. Private work is a platform for people who are interested in that idea that they want to. They want to transform from the inside out. Because we, you know, we are a product of, you know, the formless. Like whatever we're thinking about, we're eventually bringing about consciously or unconsciously.
Yeah.
So private work is giving you a platform where you could work it out before you act it out. And so we've built the whole, the whole structure for that. And I'd love to show a little bit of the structure and how it all works.
Yeah, I. I would love to see that. I want to, like, you know, as you're sharing here, I'm thinking basically what you're doing. Because so much of our repetitive thoughts are unconscious. They just pop up. Right. And it's our old beliefs, if they could come from so many different things, from trauma, from genetics, from, you know, just whatever. Right. Beliefs that you were raised with and so forth. And so they just creep up. And so I believe what you're doing here with private work, this just hit me, Jo, is that you're. You're shifting, you're taking the power back with your thinking. And your intention to. With the fresh thoughts is replacing that programmed thinking into intentional conscious thinking and intention. And when you do that, not only will you have more uplifting thoughts, more reflective thoughts, more powerful thoughts in a positive way, but because of that, because, you know, everything starts with your thoughts, creates your feelings, your actions and your results.
Right.
And so, yeah, I mean, just think of the momentum of this on a regular basis, not to mention just, you know, starting your day this way where you take control of your day, in.
A sense, there's 24 hours a day, 16 of them were awake. We sleep for some of us, plus or minus, but let's just say 16 hours a day. There are 110 minute blocks of time in a 16 hour day. Are you willing to give 1% of your time to cultivating insightfulness? 1% of your day? And it's different than going to a workshop for a weekend or you're there getting deluged with stuff. But 10 minutes a day over a long period of time has a compounding effect that is like building, nesting, else they're building on top of each other. And that's what practice is. Practice is the commitment to a little bit for a long time. And Allison, I'm going to suggest that's what's missing for most people in this shiny object world that we live in, that we're subject to. Clickbait you know, all the time looking for something new as opposed to going deep into something that is useful.
And yeah, instead of getting caught up on social media and just mindless scrolling and you completely throw away one of those hundred minute time blocks that you just. Yeah, yeah, you've wasted being intentional. Is this something that you can share, you want to show?
Well, I'm gonna, I have a show I can share screen. So I'm going to take you over. This is the private work platform.
Okay. And for those of you that are listening to the podcast, because we have those that are going to see it and some listening, what we're looking at right now is, yeah, you go to private work.com, okay.
It's free sign up. It takes about three to five minutes to sign up. It gives you some guidance on, you know, how to enter into the experience. So private work.com, you just go there, set up an account, you create your own password and then I get it. You get an email from me every day and I give you the question of the day or you can come over to the platform anytime you want. And this is what it looks like. We're looking at this edit and there's, there's rooms in this and they're divided into like, what type of time commitment do you want to give to it? So in the blue room, that's what we refer to this, we have a series of questions. There are 208 direction questions in there right now. And that's, I'm adding to that all the time divided into those 12 sections. So if you said I want to, you know, cultivate a better relationship with my future self or my business self or my big picture, like get a bigger picture of what is going on or if I need to make a really good decision right now, or if I'm struggling with a habit. And right now a lot of people are wrestling with mental wellness or cultivating and creating deeper, more profound relationships, getting in better physical condition, developing a stronger connection spiritually, or you want to look at your productivity or you're looking for more inspiration. And then there's a room called deep personal work. That's really deep work. So you, you kind of look at that and you go, where am I now? Now that is one way to do it. The other is just take question one and then next do question two and like don't over examine it, but we give that. So the blue room, these workouts require that you download the template and there's a little tab called template. And so I click on that, and, and you print this out and you start with a direction question. I'll get into that in a minute. And then there are 20 prompts that I will take you through. So I'm going to give you some stimulus before each prompt, and then I'm going to give you the prompt and you're going to write for one minute. So at the end of a private workout, you've been writing for 20 minutes, one minute at a time. And then.
Oh, I love that, Jo, because otherwise our ADD brain. Yeah, yeah. And that like, forces you, because it's amazing. You know, I've taken our clients through things like, okay, in 60 seconds, I want you to write all the ways that you could generate, you know, another $50,000 or something like that. And it's like, we can't for, you know, we could spend five hours and not come up with one thing. But you say you've got one minute. Like they have 20 things written down. It's amazing.
You know what that is, Alison? That's called the conscious streaming mind. Very different than the thinking mind, the conscious streaming mind. You're right. It might not even make sense. You don't have to spell it correctly. You don't have to get it in order. It's just like get it flowing through you. And when you put a time on got one minute, it bypasses the inner critic and it goes right into the conscious stream. And you don't need to know what it all means. You just have to process it through and then eventually it starts to connect. You know that you do private work long enough, you just go, oh, I can see the dots are starting to connect right now on what my next best step is or my next best move. So that's the blue room when we, when we're operating and we have time to 45 minutes to an hour to do that. And then this is the pink room. This is what we refer to as the one minute workouts. And actually each one of them is anywhere from three to seven minutes long. And this is just where I encourage people to start to develop the ritual of first thing in the morning. Activate the conscious streaming mind. It's where your, your creativity and your imagination works. And do that before you have any outside stimulus, before you look at your text messages, your emails, before you do anything on social media. Because as soon as you go outward and you start to receive unpredictable stimulus, your mind goes down that rabbit hole for the rest of the day. You know, stay away from that as long as you can, or at least for the first 10 minutes of the day.
Yeah. Because when you wake up, you're still in that. It's not alpha, I forget which zone it is, but you're still kind of in that half asleep, half awake where you're not putting a lot of energy to other things where you could actually go deeper. Well, this is incredible. So I have a few questions. What is the difference with the private work coaching that you've created here versus, you know, reflection, practice, you know, doing it just sitting and journaling, for instance.
Yeah.
Or, you know, working directly with a coach. What, what's the difference here?
So when somebody comes to you, they're either looking for advice and they're a subject matter expert, you're an advisor, you're an expert on growing a business. There's very specific things that you need to do in a specific sequence. That's high level advice. You pay for that because you're paying for somebody's years and years of experience and able to say, I've done all this parent. I'm just going to shortcut this for you. This is what these are the series of events. You go, so that's one. Some people will come to you because they need a cheerleader. They're not looking for advice, but they're looking for encouragement. I know what to do. I'm just not all that motivated. I need someone to hold me accountable, you know, that's another type. And then there's another type of coaching. It's more of a. I need a friend. I just need you to listen to me. Don't give me any advice. I just need to hear what I'm saying and then just nod and tell me you love me no matter what, you know, and that heals, you know, that type of. And then there's the type of coaching that is more of a catfish. The. There's a metaphor that when they would catch fish on the east coast, the white fish, and they'd ship them across the west coast in trains, they put them in these big containers and they would enter into port and they would be, you know, not very fresh. So they throw a catfish in there and the catfish is the arch enemy and it's chasing it around the entire time and so pulls in the port and fish are fresh. And sometimes we need that, that type of coach that's almost yelling at us. Like we respond better to like in our.
And sometimes we need that in our face. I know for me.
Yeah. And so like when you're, when you're looking for outside, you need to know what you actually need most people kind of lump and go, I need coaching. But what do you need? You need advice, you need a cheerleader, do you need a good friend? Or do you need a catfish? And then, and then if you know what you want, then somebody can actually give you that. Now, private work is, is you. You are coaching your team. You're, you're a team and your team is made up of four members. It's your thinking, it's your emotions, it's your associations, which I call our stories and then your memories. That's all of us. It's like when we sit down, we're generating thoughts through our feelings and our past stories and our memories. And so you're here to upgrade those thoughts, upgrade those feelings, upgrade those stories, upgrade those memories. Because you're the one who's putting the team on the field every day, right? So you're interested in having a world class team that's constantly out in the world, in the outer world, playing at its highest level. And that takes practice. That's what makes the great teams great. They practice harder than they play. And so I'm asking for 10 minutes a day.
Yeah, work with your team. And what have you seen with some of the people that are doing this? Like what, what are they saying that their experience is?
Well, fortunately, we have been beta testing this for five years. And so I have a group of people, about 500 people who figured this formula out with me in small groups and large groups. And then we released it to the our client base by 2300 real estate agents and lenders around the world. And we spent most of COVID going through the process with them, which was really a blessing for them because they had this big stretch of time and so they had a chance to cut off the external stimulus and go inside and just be responsible for their own stimulus. And that was what private work was offering them. And coming out of COVID totally different group of people who stuck with it, who are more inspired about what was possible in the future. Those were the folks that made the pivot and shifted quickly were the others who didn't do the deeper work during COVID They kind of got stuck in, let's go, let's go back to normal. But there's like there was no normal to go back to. So I watched that happen. But I'd say there's a very individual experience that each person has depending on what level of work they've done. So if you've done very little introspection work, you're going to create a relationship with your internal narrative. That can be pretty spooky. You know, like, you start to notice, like, oh, my God. That is a repetitive negative thought. Ah. You know, like.
And you never really get the awareness, like. Right. And that's so such power. Like, change starts with that awareness. You can't change unless you even know what the heck you're doing.
And it sucks. Alison, Awareness really does suck. Meaning that once you know, you can't act like you don't know.
No.
And so, you know, like, for example, if somebody has a really poor morning ritual and they know it, and then they start to do some deeper work on what's that block that is holding them back from being, you know, the very best that they can be in the morning? And they start to notice it's just an old pattern of waking up and that resistance is on the side of the bed ready for them to go. And they can't seem to get a grip on that. And they see it's rooted in there for quite a long time. And it's part of who there are. It's the way they define themselves. And so they start to notice that, and then they actually get a glimpse of, oh, who I would be if I actually put some ritual. Now, you know, now the alarm goes off. Yeah. And it sucks because you can't act like you don't know.
Yeah.
Ignorance is bliss until it's not.
And so. Yeah. And then you don't. But. And then when you elevate, you know, when you grow, you become further and further from that person that you were right. That part of you.
Yeah.
And that you. That you do let go of. But I love that you. You know, if you stare it in the face, it's painful, and then you spend time continuing to go back to it for a while, and then it gets to the point where you just can't anymore. Somebody told me once, I thought this was a great analogy. It's like, now I don't eat Big Macs. But it was. He said, you know, it's one of those things where, you know, you. You. You know, the Big Mac at McDonald's is not good for you, but every once in a while it just sounds really good. So then you would.
And.
And then, you know, you become healthier and healthier, and you. And then you're like, oh, I'll just have. I'll just go have another Big Mac. And then you just feel so sick. You just can never eat that thing again because you become more conscious of your health. Right. So I. I kind of liken this to that. And then I love where you talk about. And then where you're going is that I think is what gets people excited.
Yeah, yeah.
You know, and that. That moves mountains. So now let's talk a little bit because you are a big fan of journaling. And I have always kept. I have so many journals, Joe. Like I. And that's one of the things I love doing when I'm in Mexico is. Is journaling. But you, you tell me the difference between like free flowing stream of consciousness writing and journaling.
They're all useful. You know, anything that you take your brain and empty your thoughts out. I have a mentor that gave me a little slogan. I live by that. Your brain is for processing that for storage.
Oh, I love that.
And it is. It's like the more that we take in and we live in a world right now that we're constantly deluged with new information and quality information. Like there are podcasts and there are books and there are. We have unparalleled access to the best courses ever before. I mean, we live in the golden age of information.
Yeah.
We also are deprived tremendously of integration of the int. It. We listen to podcasts like we're at a movie. Like it's just coming and next. Next.
Right. But that integration, right, that's everything.
It's. It's everything and it's everything. If we're going to take what we're receiving, integrate it and make it part of us. Otherwise it truly is edutainment. And we are looking for a dopamine hit more than an expanded level of awareness. And that's what we got to be really careful of around the consumption of information is it becomes an addiction. You know, I've had moments where I go, I can't listen to another TED Talk. I'm so full, you know, because it's not integrated, it's so full. But when I integrate it and I take time. So, you know, I would even be listening to a podcast like this and I would even stop it right now and I would just say, okay, up to this point, what's my first thought? And I would just write down all that I'm thinking about what I've heard so far and then turn the podcast back on. And now I've processed what I've learned so far and, and I may do that four times in an hour, but when the hour is over, I got a lot more out of that one hour of learning than if I just listened to it like it was music.
And that's I do the same thing. I do the same thing. I have. I use Evernote so I can listen to a podcast and be on Evernote at the same time. And so I can go back and forth because if there's something that really struck me, I want to capture that.
Yeah.
And then I go back through it again and listen. I mean, read through my notes the next day because, you know, I can remember it in that moment, but then I'm going to forget. So I need to go through it and then determine what am I going to actually do with this. Is it just something that helps me to evolve or is this something I'm actually going to take action on? But I love and I really feel like that that's what this private work does. It's about the integration. It's about the insightfulness and then how you're going to integrate it. This is the book. First of all, you can get this on Amazon. It is phenomenal. It is a beautiful book. I love the COVID It's awesome. And you know, Jo, this has been really your life's work. You are really one of the most introspective people I know. I remember when I met you so many years ago. I think you put more content out than anybody I know. Like real deep introspective, you know, just where your daily cup of joe remember you were doing that and just so much. I really love how thoughtful you are. And this is really just beautiful legacy work. Why, why did you decide to do this? And why are you doing it for free? Yeah. So let's just share that a moment.
You know, you teach what you need to learn. You know, you wanted to learn how to scale up a 10, 20 million dollar business. So you started teaching it. You know, and you'll. And all we have to do is be slightly ahead of our student. We don't have to be year light years ahead of them in order to teach. And so I recognized that in my own life the, the way I was going to grow was, is going to do my own personal work is I've figured out strategically what it takes to make money and how to build a business. But where I was up against was how my relationship with myself in the reoccurring patterns in my life that were not really supporting who I wanted to be in a. As a man, especially at my age. I'm 66 right now and it's the, in Eric Erickson's psychosocial development stages. It's the last stage of life. 66 till death. And I have A very strong conviction and, and vision for being a model for what's possible for men physically, mentally, spiritually, socially, relationship wise. And it's absent of my father. I mean, my father didn't play that role. So the gift that he gave me was, is I want, I want to be the role that he didn't give me. And I want to be that for my daughters. I want to do that for the people closest to me. But I've also been able to attract some extraordinary men in my life that I can be a model for what I call finish strong, like finish life strong. So I'm looking at from 66 right now to about 86. So I got 20 years, maybe more, but let's say 20 years of real vital contribution to make to the world. It's the collective wisdom of all that I've done in the first 66 years. Now I can actually package it and give it away for free. Wow. I mean, I've gotten enough resources, enough, you know, security in my life that I don't need the money. I want it, but I don't need it. And if I could give anything away to help the most people would be what I had to learn. And what I'm learning now as I'm going into my last stage of life because Ellison, for men, it's either integrity or despair in these later life, either you get whole and you start to give your gifts away as a teacher and you help the people who have helped you along the way. And it's everybody, meaning. Yeah, you know, and it's, it's like a responsibility that I, that has come to me, like I, that's who I want to be. And so lowering all the barriers, making it free, it's still giving personal development away for free. You have to identify the people who resonate with you and resonate with the message. It's not, you know, okay, the whole world is going to go start doing introspection work. It's free. You know, that's not right. But I do believe that, you know, if they can connect with a messenger, I'm a guide. I'm not a guru. I'm a guide. I'm your guide by your side. I'm giving you stimulus during the private work. It's. But not giving you any suggestion, not telling you what to do. And I'm there every day for you. And that's what I want for me. I want me to be there for me every day. And so I'm modeling for you, for the people who choose to follow this this methodology, what's possible. And I. I built it for me and I'm giving it away for free.
Yeah. That's absolutely incredible. And I know that you will continue to change so many lives. I just saw that a woman that was 95, just one, became the best new artist for in Latin America. She just got a Grammy. So, hey, I think this last stage is gonna go on a little longer than you thought. But that's my intention. But so for people to do this, first of all, you get the book on Amazon. You can go to privatework.com. this is how they get started. Correct.
That's the direct path, like ice cream. Go to the store and taste it and see what you like your flavor. So you go in. I would suggest this. This is where I would take people to when you first go into the. The experience. There is a room down here. It's called the private work it out playlist. And so these are playlists. So I'm gonna just go over here, like creative concentration. So that's. That. That's a particular playlist of all the. All the different sellers. There's four different work IT outs. There's one minute, 239. We call it the more concentrations, less distraction question. And then the next day you do number two. The next day you do number three. Next day you do number four. And so that's a playlist all focused on concentration. So that's where I would encourage people to start is, is go over to the playlist. So make more money, calm, confidence, eating, time, business discipline. So there's. Right now, I think there's 30 different playlists. Just let your intuitive nature just tell you what.
Yeah. Oh, I love that. I love that. This is exciting and fun. Yeah. You know, to be able to tap into your imagination and creativity. I think so many people are just running on autopilot. And so this is really about taking your life back and starting each day with clear intention. So thank you for doing this, Jo. Thank you for being on the scale it method and just excited to share this with as many people as I can and just so grateful for you in my life. I've told you many times, but you continue to inspire me and my husband Mike, as you know and, you know, just excited for what is to come.
For what is to come.
Yeah.
Yeah. It is really a beautiful future that we have ahead of us. Yeah. Thank you. And I'm looking forward to whatever challenges and opportunities that people have when they start to do their work, because it. It does begin a process.
Yeah.
Beautiful. Community. We meet live every Thursday morning at 7:00am oh, wow.
Okay.
A community meeting. We have thousands of people from all over the world that join.
That's amazing. And do it and stick to it. Do it and stick to it. It might not be easy in the beginning and, you know, it's just one of those things that it comes. It gets better and better over time, we would say.
So when they come over to the privatework.com on that sign in page, there's a Facebook link. Hit the Facebook link and become a member of the Facebook group. And then we use these little 30 day challenges. And so imagine like every day you do a little private work and you just cross it off. And so I've grouped them together. Just start out by doing 10 minutes a day for 30 days. It will change your life. I mean, it's just profound.
Well, this is the perfect time of year to do it too. Right? So we're gonna start off or wherever, whatever. Whenever you're listening to this, it's always the perfect time. So anyway, but thanks, Joe.
Okay.
