Every industry will change because of AI

Allison Maslan argues AI will reshape every industry and urges founders to proactively identify which parts of their business could become obsolete. Rather than wait for pressure, she says entrepreneurs should reinvent their models before competitors do, using seasonal check-ins to stay ahead.

Every industry will change. For many, AI creates uncertainty. People see AI writing software, generating images, driving cars, and naturally wonder what happens next. Will jobs disappear? Will people be left behind? Will this technology become too powerful? Every major technological revolution in history created fear alongside opportunity. When society engages technology openly, responsibly, and optimistically, we expand human potential far more than we diminish it. So first and above all, we must be clear-eyed. Artificial intelligence, the automation of understanding, reasoning, and problem solving, is one of the most powerful technologies humanity has ever created.
Remember the pandemic when overnight every business was forced to pivot or die? This is the same moment. The only difference is that nobody is forcing you yet. So most founders are going to wait, and the waiting is a risk. So don't just ask yourself, how to use AI inside your business, ask what part of your business AI could make obsolete. Because if you can see it, someone else can see it too, and they may build it before you get to it. And the bravest founders right now are looking at their own model and asking, if I were to start today with these tools, how would I solve my customer's problem completely differently? And how would I reach my ideal customer in a way that didn't exist 2 years ago? That's not a threat to run from. It's an invitation to reinvent invent before the market forces you to do so? Now, during COVID pivoting was a survival. Now it's a strategy. And the founders that win keep asking that question in every single season, not just when the world is catching on fire. So this week, sit with 2 questions. What could AI disrupt in my business? And what new version could I build before somebody else does? The future belongs to founders who keep moving before I'm Allison Maslan, and I've built 10 of my own companies over the last few decades. And for the last 17 years, my team and I have been running the world's leading women-owned scaling advisory for 7 and 8-figure CEOs. So hit that follow button for direction on scaling your business and your life.
