Fear Leaping Tool

Allison Maslan walks through a coaching tool called Fear Leaping. Imagine yourself acting without fear, identify what you'd do, then write down the cost of staying stuck: money lost, emotional drain, bad decisions. Revisit the list when fear creeps back in.
This one is. And you might even wonder, why is this even a tool? Because it's basically just a question. Do you see the fear leaping? Is that what you see? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, so, but here's the thing. The only reason that most people hold back on something is because they're afraid. And they're afraid of losing something. But the thing is, is that the reason I love this is because they're already losing by staying in the fear. So it's just a tool. People are visual, and when they can see it and they can write it down, they can actively write it down. If fear was no consequence, I would take the big leap of what? Let's just pretend fear is no issue. You have no fear around going after whatever. What would you do? Because then you can get to the real thing that they really want and then say, by what is it costing you to stay stuck in this? And, like, really try to get them to tangibly, you know, just determine what that number is. Like, how much money are they losing over years? See if you can quantify that in some way. And emotionally, oh, my gosh, it's sucking the life out of them in a lot of cases. And it could even be of firing somebody, you know, letting somebody go on the team. It could be staying in a negative situation. It is truly sucking the life out of them. So if you can get them to write this down and write down what it's costing them visually, and sometimes you might need to pull it up again to remind them again, okay, super simple.
