Two speakers discuss finding opportunity in hardship, using the story of a man who lost his job and went on to start a successful business. The conversation centers on resilience and reframing setbacks as chances to move forward.
At all.
Right. So you're talking about seeing the opportunity that sometimes cloaked in what looks like discouragement or a negative set of circumstances, that sometimes you can look back on that and say, that was exactly the point at which my life turned for the better.
Yeah, I mean, there's many examples of that. I mean, even in my family, my brother was working for a company, and, you know, he liked it, but over time, he really outgrew the position. It just wasn't filling him. But I believe he stayed because of security. But I saw in him that he had all this potential to create what he was doing for this company, for himself. And so he lost his job unexpectedly, and it did throw him. So, you know, you have to kind of.
On his butt.
Yeah. You go through the shock, you get up, you dust yourself off, and you have two choices at that point. I mean, you can either try to jump back into the same kind of situation, and a lot of people do that out of fear, will jump back into something, another company doing the same thing that they really don't like. And he took it as an opportunity and built his own Internet marketing company and has become very successful. So there are many stories of that.
