Pinnacle Global Network Helped Me Finally Overcome My Fears and Make a Difference

A general contractor shares how joining Pinnacle Global Network after meeting Allison Maslan at a NAWBO meeting helped him overcome his fears and grow his business. He credits the program with giving him the tools to empower his team and improve his clients' lives.
I'm a general contractor who started my company 13 years ago. Wow. It's so hard to believe it's been that long. I absolutely love what I do, but it's not always fun when you're working long hours every day. Plus the strain and the pressure of being a business owner in a very tough field. There has to be a smarter way. We've done many things, both commercial and residential, but I want something more. I want to really make a difference in the lives of my clients who put their trust in me. I want them to live with independence and purpose every day. I met Allison last year at a NAWBO meeting. She invited us all to our annual Blast off event in San Diego. I'm so happy I took her up on it. It was like nothing I had seen before. Full of energy, hope, promise, and the resources that I was missing. What made me join Pinnacle was the fear of returning home to Florida and not having the confidence to make the right decisions. I had to make a change. Others in the group had stories just like mine, but the Pinnacle group was making a difference for them. No longer were they letting the fear hold them back. Those stories were replaced with new, positive ones of how they moved past those challenges. That the Pinnacle program could do this for them, I certainly had to try. I knew right away that I need a loyal team to grow. Like Allison, I want to hire smart people and empower them to make decisions and work together as a team. What does my team look like? Remember the Smurfs? The Smurfs were always positive and represented the good in the world. What worked best for them is they each had something unique and they worked well together. There was an episode, I remember, where the Smurfs found a crystal ball in the woods and had to be reminded that the actions that we take determine how the future will turn out. That crystal ball represents JS1 Construction's growth opportunity, and our future is looking very bright. Our sales are already equal to what they were last year, and we still have several months to go. Thanks to the Pinnacle program, we have our first contract to produce a series of webinars. I'm excited and nervous, but I know we can do it.
Improving quality of life at home for my clients is my goal. It's important for their well being and good health. Remember Maya Angelou said, people will forget what you said and they will forget what you did, but they'll never forget how you made them feel. And that's the JS1 construction experience.
