In this brief interview excerpt, Allison Maslan probes a business leader about the difficulty of trusting and delegating within a rapidly scaling organization of about 400 employees. The leader admits ongoing vulnerability and daily struggle with letting go, despite having a strong team. Allison offers to connect the leader with a supportive organization that can help address these delegation challenges.
Most business owners struggle with the trust piece. As a leader, you know, 400 employees, you've been scaling pretty rapidly. How have you been able to learn to let go in that way?
I'll be vulnerable, I have a hard time with it still. That's an area that I'm still struggling with and I still honestly battle with every day. I got an amazing team and—
You know a great organization for you to join? And we can help you with that.
So I struggle with it, but I think it's Letting people and letting individuals let their choices do their talking and then acting fast around those choices. For me, once the trust is broken, it's so hard to repair. I think that, you know, again, finding the people that are smarter than me, building true relationship with the individuals in the business. The comment I make often is I wonder what the conversation is at 8 o'clock at night when that individual's speaking to their spouse about the job or where they work. Mm-hmm. Right. I think about that conversation a lot. Right. And if that conversation feels like I'm in a place with that individual where I know it's positive and good, chances are the trust and relationship is Really strong.
