Hi friends, today we've got a very special episode of the Dance Principals United podcast. This episode was recorded live on stage at Dance Teacher Expo. It was a session I presented around AI tools that you use in your studio. Obviously it was recorded live. There's a couple of audio things, but hopefully you can make do. Obviously you're missing the slides too, but you know what? Hopefully you still get a lot of value from it. If you want the special guide that accompanies this with all the links to the tools and a few more details, make sure you jump over to our Instagram, um, and comment Robots to get it all, and this will be a really great, uh, guide to go along with the podcast. Enjoy the episode. Hello friends, I'm Amanda Barr and I'm Rebecca Lou Brennan, and welcome to Dance Principles United, the podcast. Together we are passionate about helping studio owners with the business of running their studio. Join us as we talk everything from marketing, systems, studio culture, motherhood, life and everything in between. This is the Dance Principles United podcast. How are you? How's your morning been? Good? Amazing? Feeling a bit exhausted today? Are you all right? Not too brain dead? Not too many ideas? I feel like sometimes we come to these things and there's so many ideas and so many things and you're like, oh my God, I can't even remember the first one. What happened? But I hope that I'm going to inspire you today. I want to start by telling you that I'm going to give you all this stuff afterwards, so don't feel like you have to write notes, okay? So don't stress out. I'm going to give you that all afterwards. But I'm excited to talk AI. Are we ready to do this? Amazing. Okay. I didn't get an introduction, but hi, I'm Amanda Barr, and I, I Along with Nathan Beck, own Dance Principles United, we obviously run this event and we're so excited to be here. I'm an ex-studio owner. I sold my studio 3 years ago. I keep— time flies, right? And I've been in these rooms, I've done all the things, and I love to be able to bring what I've learned to you guys. But most of you know that story. Here's a story you probably don't know about me. AI image number one. I also don't own that top. Um, so the story you don't know about me is obviously I'm a dance teacher, obviously I'm a speaker and do all those things, but you might not know that I'm also a massive tech nerd and I always have been. I opened my studio at 16, and when I was 16, my dad was helping me. He worked in IT as well, and we couldn't find the right studio software because it was a long time ago. I don't even know if those, you know, amazing Studio Pro, Jackrabbit— I don't even think they were a thing at the time. So we wrote our own software. I wrote a software with my dad, with support from him, and back in the days where you had to do it all by hand. It was on FileMaker Pro. I don't know if anyone else is that old, but we wrote all of our studio software. There's a couple of chairs down here, please feel free to come and join us, and a few there next to Miss Lee. But I did that when I was between sort of like 16, 17, so that my first studio software could run, so that I could do the invoicing really easily and do all those things because it was a long time ago and those things weren't available to us. So, I didn't do invoices by hand. You know, we're talking year 2000 when most people were still doing invoices by hand and taking payments by hand. I wrote the software then. I then also had a bit of a, let's go with a lesson, not a failure. Nathan and I started another software company in, well, you were my children born, maybe 2002. 12, that was 4 studios, that was basically Band. Who uses Band? And Band is an incredible app. It didn't exist at the time. I tried to create it. It was a lesson. We spent a lot of money. It was a lesson. Probably some of you don't know that story, but I guess my point is I've always loved tech. I've always loved new things. I wanted to be a graphic designer. I have always been obsessed with that, and that's why I'm so obsessed obsessed with AI. I'm that person that stays up all night watching AI videos and scrolling on it all the time. But it can be super, super overwhelming, right? Anyone feeling a bit overwhelmed by AI at the moment? And there's a lot of shit out there. There's some really good stuff, but there's also a lot of shit. And there's a lot of time-consuming stuff that you're like, ah, Is this actually quicker than me doing it myself? Have you felt like that sometimes? And you're like, oh, like, it was cool and everything, but I don't know, did it actually save time? And that's what I'm excited to tell you about today. Today I'm just going to go through my top AI tools that I think are helpful for you guys in a studio. This is kind of a very quick overview. I do teach how to use these tools, but today I just want to, like, jump in and go through the tools. As I said, I've got a bit of a giveaway for you guys at the end, and you can get all them written down, so don't stress about writing anything down. All right, so let's go into tool number one. You've all heard of it, it's ChatGPT, number one tool, probably where most of you have started. Who's using ChatGPT most days? Absolutely. And ChatGPT was an incredible starting point But AI is evolving so, so quickly. Like, holy crap, what we can do today that you could not do 6 weeks ago is amazing. Like, I'm literally talking 6 weeks ago. Like, things are happening so, so quickly. And ChatGPT, god, a couple of years ago was the most incredible AI tool. And it still is because for a lot of us, we've been using it for a long time. So it knows us really well, right? Anyone's chat know you quite well and you have quite an intimate relationship with your ChatGPT? Yes. And so I, whilst it's no longer my go-to tool and I don't think that it is necessarily the best, I still use it every day because it knows me really well. And so I wanted to start with this saying, don't get rid of ChatGPT. I'm going to talk about other ones. But still have it there because it is incredible. You know, probably most of you have used ChatGPT for caption writing. Is that right? Yeah, it can be a bit bland and a bit generic. Yeah, but as with everything, you know, I like to think of ChatGPT as a 17-year-old assistant. I think that's the best way to think of it. A 17-year-old assistant can do great things. For you. But if you give them shitty instructions, they're not gonna know what you're talking about. If you say to your 17-year-old assistant, hey, write me some captions, or do some social media for me for a dance studio, they're gonna give you something pretty shit. They haven't learnt what the offer is. They don't know how to make sure there's a proper call to action. They don't know your tone of voice. You know what I mean? There's a lot in there that they don't know as a 17-year-old. ChatGPT is the same, okay? So good instructions give good output. The more you explain in the first prompt what you're asking for, the better output— sorry, input— the better output you will receive. So look, we're going to talk about captions later because I actually don't think ChatGPT is very good for that, But what I am still using ChatGPT for every single day is brainstorming. I do think it's the best tool for brainstorming. Brainstorming ideas, you know, like, what should I call my holiday workshop? Give me some cool names about K-pop demon hunters that isn't K-pop Demon Hunters. You know, that kind of idea. For that, great tool. But the most effective use for ChatGPT and where it is better than everything else is its voice functionality. Does anyone use it for voice functionality? Yeah, absolutely. I connect it to my car as I'm driving, safely of course, and what I do is whilst I'm driving, I actually just have it on the whole time listening to me and I talk to it. And sometimes I'll sit there in silence for 10 minutes, but I just leave it on, it's fine. But I'm like, ah, you know when those ideas come to you when you're driving? Anyone else do that? When you have some quiet So I get it to record my ideas. I'm like, hey, remind me about this, you know. Hey, what do you think about this idea? I also am very clear to ask ChatGPT to push back. ChatGPT is a yes man. Have you heard that? It tells you all your ideas. Oh my God, what a great angle to take. You are amazing. Congratulations. Which is lovely. We all need a hype girl sometimes. However, sometimes your ideas are not amazing, let's be honest, and what you just asked it for is not great. So if it isn't great, you know, you need to ask for it to push back. Okay, so voice mode number one, I use it for brainstorming. That's the main reason to me that you should be using ChatGPT. I also wanted to show you, I'm going to give you this prompt. One of the greatest things I think you can do with it is have proper conversations. You know, if you went to Bex's Actually, it wasn't Bec's session yesterday. It was something we spoke about the other day. You know, we talk about the power of upselling, you know, the power of having difficult conversations, the power of selling that student into the class. And it's hard, right? Bec teaches what she calls Jump In, which is like a game where you like roleplay, right? So that you can practice those conversations. And sometimes you feel like an absolute dickhead. Having a, you know, conversation with someone else going, "Hey Dee, would you like to enroll in classes?" You know what I mean? I'm playing that. So I use ChatGPT for that reason. You know, for example, this first video is recorded yesterday because we had a few issues. No, the day before. But I use it as a sales coach to practice hard conversations and I tell it to play somebody. So I wanted to show you this. Hey Jessica, is Amanda here? Hi, Amanda. I just wanted to give you a call to see how Susie's been enjoying her ballet class. Oh, hey, Amanda. Yeah, Susie's been loving it. She's twirling around at home. What's on your mind today? I was just calling you because there's an additional ballet class that's straight after. It's more of an advanced class, and I've been watching Susie in class. She's doing so, so well with her technique, and I think it would be a great addition to her weekly timetable. It sounds interesting, but I'm wondering what's the cost? I'm always cautious before adding something new. Look, totally understand. You know, the class is an additional $18 a week, which would be amazing for her, but you know, if she wants to just give it a try for free, we'd love to have her next week. A free trial does sound fair. Let me chat with my husband tonight and I'll see if we can give it a go. Yeah, amazing. Well, how about I give you a call tomorrow morning? And just confirm that so I can make sure I have a spot for her this week in class. Yeah, tomorrow morning's fine. I'll have an answer by then. Talk to you tomorrow. Thanks. Now change back to coach mode. All right, back to coaching. You did better this time. You led with rapport and eased into the offer. You were clear on the price and offered the trial naturally. What could be stronger? So what I love from this It's helping us— as I'm finishing that— it's helping us practice these things because it's hard sometimes. And like, obviously it's not perfect. That's not exactly what a parent would say, but you can have those practice conversations. You know, who's like felt nervous about a practice— you know, sorry, about a hard, difficult conversation you have to have with a staff member? Yeah, practicing it in your car with ChatGPT, having it play somebody is really, really valuable. And then asking it to coach you and give you feedback and tell you what you should do better. That is the number one thing that I'm using ChatGPT for at the moment and might be something for you to try. But let's jump into tool number 2, productivity tools that I want to talk about because that is the purpose of AI, right? Like I said to you before, sometimes AI, you're like, is this actually faster? I'm not sure. Some of these tools do make your life better. Now, the first tool I want to talk about doesn't sound super sexy. It is not nearly as sexy as some of these other things. However, it is my absolute favorite tool and an absolute life changer for me. It's called Whisperflow. What it allows you to do, it is actually a good voice-to-text program, and I no longer write any emails. I no longer write any, anything on my computer. It automatically, you know, you click one button and it records. It goes through different apps, it formats it the correct way, which makes a big difference as well. It knows how, if I'm in, you know, have Gmail open, it knows if I have I have a message open, a text message on my phone, it knows if it's a document, it formats it the right way. But we can speak so much faster than we can write. So I no longer write anything. This is my number one tool for productivity. I highly recommend you give it a go. It makes such a huge difference. My number two tool for productivity is a Motion app. Motion app is an incredible tool, and I've just realized that I haven't to fix my next slide, so you're gonna have to forgive me as I'm standing here doing this. But Motion app is an incredible tool that helps you with time blocking. If you were in Beck and I's session yesterday, we spoke about time blocking. And Motion is great because it automatically time blocks your tasks for you. So you put that you're teaching from 3 till 6, so you obviously can't do any tasks during that time, but then you brain dump everything you do have to do. I have to call that parent, that's gonna take me 10 minutes. I need to make sure that I order that costume. I've gotta spend an hour on social media tomorrow. I've gotta make sure I, you know, listen to that call, I do all those things. It slots it in your day for you. And then it comes up going, you should be doing this now. Tick it off, have you completed this task? Good job. It is really, really incredible. It's a paid service. Some of these, I should have said before, some of these are paid, some of these are free. You've got to work out what works for you in your business. We can't pay for everything, yeah? And you've got to see what you'll get the most use out of. But I do love Motion App. This is, oh, look at that. Mel did fix my slides for me. Winner. I have not seen this slide, but I'm like, oh, what is on here? As you can see, it does have tasks. So, you know, for example, if my task was finalize website design, it has a date that I have to do it by. It makes sure that it schedules it by that date. It is a really incredible tool. It is hard to show on a screen like this, but I highly recommend it. Amazing. Let's jump into some more tools, design tools. 'Cause I love design. As I said, I wanted to be a graphic designer at some point in my life. It's always what I wanted to do. And then Canva was around, and Canva is incredible, right? And like, you don't need to know how to use graphic design software because you can do it inside Canva, and it's just, you know, it's not quite as good, but it's 97% there, and it's fantastic. So I love using AI now as the next iteration of this, I guess, for design tools. And I think there's so much power for that. So my favorite design tools that I use for images. Number 1 is called Freepik. Freepik is not free. I don't know what stupid name, don't you think? What Freepik allows you to do is is ask for image prompts, but it works with all the models. So I don't know if you're across it, but you can do images inside ChatGPT, you can do them inside Nanobanana, there's programs called Flux, there's, there's hundreds and hundreds of programs that you can use to create images on AI, but you have to go to every platform, you have to log into everyone. And some are better at different things. Freepik is a platform that brings them all together, so that's why I like it. So it will give you very wildly different results, so you can just toggle which program you're using to create the image. So for example, if you want to create a photorealistic image, you know, I would use a very different model than what I would use to do a text-based image. And you can just try it, and that's why I like— rather than opening heaps of other programs. Does that make sense? It's a really good way to kind of see and try different things, and you can go, oh wow, Flux is better for that one. Oh, actually, the Nanobanana one's heaps better for that. And it can do it all inside the one platform, so I highly recommend that. However, if you do just want one go-to, Nanobanana is DALL-E, which also has a great name, right? As opposed to Freepik. So that's a Google Gemini. So if you have a paid Google account, which most people have, I believe it's free to some sort of level. It kind of changes around, but that would be my go-to if not. I wanted to show you some of the AI images I created. Now I know some people are like, I don't know, I love AI images in some ways, but some people are really anti them, like really, really anti them, um, and I get it. Yeah, they feel like they're being misled, they feel like they're being tricked. However, I guess my thing to that is, how is that different to a movie, you know what I mean, or special effects? It just means that all of us can do it now, right? You know, I think it's just evolving in the world and Like it or not, the reality is, is that we're going to be seeing more AI images every single day. Yeah, as we move forward, whether that's on social media or in everyday life, billboards, you know, on shop fronts. I actually walked past— it's interesting, my daughter noticed— like a little cafe, a very little cafe in Shellharbour Square where I live, like not you know, not big budget, not a franchise, not a brand, not anything. And they had that Punch Monkey— have you seen that? Do you know what I'm talking about? Yeah, like, I don't know, some cute little like TikTok famous monkey or something eating their food and they're sitting in their cafe. They'd done an AI image and they had it up on their screen of that. They were taking the cool thing that was in and creating these incredible AI videos and it was working. There was a little girl sitting next to me, she's like, "Mom, look at the cute monkey." I don't think she knew what it was. "Look at the cute monkey eating that cookie." Like, do you know what I mean? It really took, made attention. So I think there's so much to it and we're gonna be seeing it so much. So some examples on how we could use it in our studio. And some are right for some people, some are right for other people. These were very quick. These took me a couple of seconds to do. They are of the lovely Dancing with the Stars. Studio. And I think there's a lot of benefit to different ones of those. That's her uniform, sorry, not her studio. You know, sometimes it's hard to get images. Has anyone ever done, like, spent heaps of money on a photo shoot with a student and then that student's left and you don't want to use it anymore? Trying to get preschoolers to look at the camera and you're like, could you get that 'Get that food off your face.' You know, and they just like— it's hard, right? We don't have unlimited budgets to be spending money on photo shoots every 10 minutes. Every time, you know, we're like, 'Oh yeah, she still didn't look very cute. I just spent a couple of grand getting a photographer out here and they didn't really work out, so we better do them again.' Yeah, so that's why I do love them. And, you know, maybe it's not for all of your images Maybe it's for a portion, but it can tell a story. You know, this first image, for example, and I wanted to show you kind of the different iterations. As I said, these were 2-second images. They're not real people, just so that we're all super clear what that is. The way I did this was I jumped on Marie's website, I took a screenshot from her uniform, sales page. I cut the head of the child off that she had it on because I didn't want it to look like that child. Yeah, and then said, create a 3-year-old walking into a studio. Yeah, and so just so we're all super clear, that's what that is. But that can have an incredible effect, you know, for advertising because the proud mom looking on can make a difference. There's no way you'd get that photo in real life, right? Absolutely not. I know Katya was talking at our Studio Growth Club event about Mum's Morning Off, and you were using an AI image for that, weren't you, to promote it? Yeah. And she was talking about promoting, you know, the parents had a morning off to themselves, basically. So she had a lovely image of a mum sitting outside her studio. It looked like her studio, sipping a coffee. You're never gonna get a mum to agree to pose to a photo of them having a nice relaxing moment in the sun having a coffee, right? So it can be really powerful for those moments and I think that's really, really great. You know, oh, I also wanted to touch on how I got some other things 'cause I know sometimes people struggle. So because the photo I stole from Marie's website was a uniform photo, it didn't have shoes in it. And so it put them in these really ugly jazz shoes. Really ugly jazz shoes. And I was like, wait a second, I don't know what these shoes are and I do not know what's going on here. So I tried it again and I was like, oh, it also had them in horrendous colored tights. I'm like, no, no, no, we want white frill socks. So I changed it, let's put it in white frill socks. Then shoes still weren't right, they look like something from the 1980s. So then I went to the Block website I took a screenshot of a black jazz shoe. Wearing these shoes. Yeah? Because you need to go, firstly, this isn't right. How can I fix it? How can I make it better? Because I don't want your 1980s shoes on my children. I want it to look like real life. And I think you've got to be, you know, watch what you're doing. You know, I was very clear with the age I wanted the students. I was very clear with what I wanted happening with their faces. In the second photo, I was very clear that I wanted children of different ethnicities. Yeah? Because that's what I wanted to represent the studio. So you've got to be very clear with your prompting. The third picture might appeal more to you as well. Maybe you're like, "Hey, I don't actually love these fake people." Yeah? "But I do like a cartoon, a Pixar-style character." Now, I wanted to show you how I took that into the next level. I didn't have a photo when I did this of Marie's studio at the time, but this is my old studio. And I don't think anyone in here has probably actually been in my studio, I don't think. That is exactly my studio. That is 100% the door color. That's where the exit lights are. That's what everything looks like. Yeah, it looks identical. That's exactly where, you know, the fan in the corner is, right? Everything. So I took a blank photo of my studio It actually had some kids in it. It'd be better if it didn't. And I said, put a Pixar-style character wearing Marie's uniform in this studio in beautiful mid-morning light. Yeah, same thing. If you just ask for a photo of a kid standing in a studio, it's not gonna be great. You've gotta give a good input to get a great output, okay? and so that might appeal more to you as well. Other things I'm using it for all the time, mockups. That's last year's expo on the photo on the left wearing this year's t-shirt, right? Because I didn't have a photo of this year's t-shirt, all I did was I actually took the Canva graphic that was created on the back of the lovely shirt that you're wearing and went, put this on a girl standing in this scene. That's not a real person, I just had that photo as a scene, yeah? And that can be great if you're doing uniform sales, especially as like pre-sales when you have, you know, you're like, oh shit, I don't have a good photo of that new uniform coming, you know, whatever. I then put the drink bottle in her hand. I asked her to put the hair a certain way, yeah? Because I wanted the hair a certain way so that you could see the back of the shirt. Yet the same thing with those product mock-ups. Yeah, and I was like, oh look, here's a gift box that we're doing. Yeah, and put all the images in automatically. And that can really, really help if you need to promote something in your studio. Like, I feel like even if the people aren't for you, the product images, absolutely, right? And we know that that's what they're using on most sales, you know, Instagram sales, all the, yeah, Do you know that that's all now AI? Very few people are doing actual product images anymore. It's all AI these days. And it's even doing the incredible— Do you love that it's even got a cord on the LED light? Yeah? It knows what it's doing. These are also created by AI. You think that they're Canva, but they're actually AI, right? So, You know what? That post on the left, if I create it in Canva, it wouldn't look like that. It's not perfect. I would have liked it to be a bit nicer, but you know what? I was short on time and I didn't know what the fuck to do, so I put it in that and that's what it was. I did the same with that one on the right. Sometimes it also inspires me. You know when you're like sitting at Canva and you're like, I don't know what I want to do, I don't know how I want this announcement to be. I actually changed one of the app photos— sorry, not photos, posts on Instagram, and it is a Canva one, but I like brainstormed it here first, and I was like, oh, I like how it's got the two-color split. I wouldn't have done that, but hey, it looks quite good. You know, I'm like, create an eye-catching graphic. Here's my timetable, yeah, or here's my logo, whatever that is. And I actually think that that's an incredible way to go to kind of get your brain pumping. And sometimes the social posts don't have to be perfect, right? We could spend an hour and a half getting that Canva image right. We could just get it up there and move on with our life, right? It doesn't act— is it gonna change how many people bought the tickets? Probs not. You know what I mean? It's just up there, it's just out there, I guess. Alright, my next design tool that I love is called HeyGen. HeyGen is a video— it does a lot of things actually. Once again, it is a paid service, but you know, you get what you pay for. It does a lot of great things. It creates videos. It actually has heaps of different uses, and when I jumped into it the other day, because I probably hadn't been into it for about 3 or 4 weeks, it actually had all these new features that I hadn't seen before. But it can create videos from photos. Yeah, which is really great, but it can also speak— sorry, let me get these words right— it can also do video animation. I'm going to show you that has a character and a personality. I want to show you this video that I created, and I've got to be honest, I did this very, very quickly, yeah, probably within 10 minutes, and I think this could be a very valuable tool. And if you spent more time on it, You'd probably make it even better, right? But this could be a really valuable tool to send to your students before their first class, you know, as an onboarding. Hey, we can't wait to have you. You know, we all do the reminder texts. How could you take it to the next level? Hi, I'm Gigi, and I'm so excited that you're here. Welcome to the Dancing with Marie Facebook Live. Miss Marie and all the teachers Our teachers are so kind and caring, and they love helping you to learn how to dance. In our classes, you get to move, play, and try lots of new fun things, and along the way, you'll make some really special friends. We laugh, we dance, and we have so much fun together every single week. I can't wait to see you in class! Thank you. Can I use that? Absolutely! Probably 3 hours. So Cute, right? Yeah? Once again, script not perfect. Yeah, it was a quick video, but it was a start. So that voice is my daughter's voice downstairs. Her name's Gigi. That was her voice because sometimes we used to do this a couple of months ago and it gave you a weird American accent and you go, "Change it to an Australian accent," and it still was an American accent. So I used my daughter's voice. So it actually put her voice to obviously that photo that I'd used before. What do you think, Miss Lee? You like it? Mate, I'm blown away. Are you sitting there with your mouth open? I'm just sitting there going, that's incredible. That's the character, the cartoon one. The one that was still on the photo there. And then putting into that. That's her. That's her? Then I made it talk. Incredible. Yes, to be fair, I think I made 2 or 3 of them and I downloaded the wrong one is what I think happened. Yeah. So, yeah, that was— so I did that first. Let's go back just so that we're clear for Miss Lee and anybody else in the room. I did this first. I did this in Freepik. What I do in Freepik, the other thing I didn't say is it's like give you 4 versions. So I did 4 versions of it. I obviously did a different one in different sites. I then took it into HeyGen. I uploaded— oh, sorry, I don't want you to talk again, Gigi. I uploaded it into HeyGen. It was just a still photo. I said, can you change it into a video? And I said, here's Gigi's voice. I uploaded that. I just got her to speak into my computer straight away. No fancy microphones, anything like that. She spoke straight into my computer. I said, please animate this. Yep, does that all automatically. I actually didn't spend more credits. You can do more credits and get the hand gestures right. Wow. I tried it walking. She was doing this a few times, which I didn't love. Um, you can, but we all do do this. Um, I did try her walking towards the camera. That went a bit weird. Okay, so it's like that same thing. It wasn't perfect. She walked towards the camera and then because she couldn't walk any further out of the frame, she then walked back. And then she kept doing this into and out of the frame, and it was weird. So we scrapped that one, and I liked the over-the-top hand movements. But you can spend more money and be like, say hi to start with, then put one hand on your hip, then change to the other direction. You know what I mean? Like something that someone would actually do. How much money? Oh, like $5. Like, we're not talking big amounts of money. Oh, so cheap. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Not big amounts of money. You could also do, they also have an incredible model where it can actually use, so for example, I could have got Gigi, I could have filmed Gigi or myself going, "Hi, I'm Gigi, nice to meet you. We're so excited to have you at the Dancing with Marie family. I am blah, blah, blah," with my hand gestures. And then it could have made the cartoon do the exact same hand gestures as me. Yeah, because then that's a bit more— not that I would actually put my head up, but you know what I mean. Whatever that is, and I think that that could be very powerful. Did Gigi, your daughter, have to say the whole phrase, or she just said a little bit and then you— No, she said the whole phrase. If you're American, you don't need to do that, but the weird accents take over. Okay. Okay, so I would never not do that because it, like, and probably it'll get better. They do have a thing where it can learn your voice, and I have tried that. So what you can do is train it on your voice. So I could like speak for like 2 minutes and then like write out a, and say use my voice. It has a weird twang. We were talking about this, it just, especially I was doing it, I do do a little bit of work for my family's real estate. I live in Kiama. People can't say Kiama, and so every time it gives a really weird Kiama or something a bit weird, it's not quite right. Were you gonna say something? Sorry. I was just gonna ask, it might be a lamest question, but are these available, like, are these all on your desktop? Yeah, no, on my desktop, yep, absolutely. I don't like it working on my phone, just that, yeah, I do it all on my desktop, yeah. And I love presenting, this is my favorite part of Expo, but I've also been really busy organizing Expo. I want to let you know that I, and just to be real, I did these all really quickly late at night the other night. I actually text Marie at like stupid hours of the night. Actually, I did it the next morning because I didn't want to text you at stupid hours of the night. So if I spent more time, I could have made them a lot better, but I wanted to go to bed. So, you know. That's the reality of the situation. Anyway, super cute video, and you can make it do whatever you wanted to do. We had to hire a child to get the voice. We can make it talk in your voice. I'm going, we could. Gigi. Gigi. See, I like Gigi because— Yeah, perfect. There you go. You can all hire Gigi to do voiceovers. Perfect. She's gonna make more money than a sister. Perfect. All right, social media. Let's move on from design because I want to get through all of these quite quickly. Quickly. Let's move on. Social media. God, it's time-consuming, right? We all feel it exhausting. My favourite AI tools— AI, I'm not 100% sure they're fully AI, but I wanted to chat about what I use AI/tech for in social media. So, you've probably all heard of ManyChat. Anyone use ManyChat? No? You have? Great! Amazing! You probably have used it and you don't know you've used it. You've probably been on the receiving end of a ManyChat flow. If you would like to, I was going to do a social media post and I forgot, if you comment on any of my social media posts on Dance Principles United, if you comment "robots" you're going to get a little handout with all this stuff. Okay, so I'll do it in a minute and it will be a ManyChat flow. I'll come back to it, I'll explain. But if you just go onto my Instagram and click 'Write Robots' as your comment, it'll send you something, okay? And you'll get all of the things. Alright, so ManyChat is a great reason to get social media engagement. It is really fantastic because sometimes we know that we should reply to every comment on social media. Who the hell has time for that shit? Like, I got stuff to do, right? So, here's how I use ManyChat for Dance Teacher Expo. I don't know if this is your studio in here. If you started following Dance Teacher Expo, as a thank you, you message, I don't know, is 56 Flowers Academy? I don't know. Yeah. They started following me on the 23rd of March, so they got an automated message saying, "Hey there, thanks for the follow." Yeah? Click the link to buy a ticket. Yeah? Is great. How could you use that in your studio? Obviously, people aren't following a link. Hey there, are you interested in dance classes for your little one or just checking us out? That might be a better thing to say to them. But just as starting the conversation. I also used the code word thing that I used. So if you wrote timetable, did anyone do that on any of our posts? Yeah, you would have got a message that said this: Hi, we're so pumped! Click here for the timetable. And then the next one a couple of minutes later would have gone: It's gonna be awesome! Have you got your tickets? Now it says: Sure have, can't wait. If they clicked not yet, I would have gone: Great, well, if you'd like to buy some tickets. Yeah, you know what I mean? And that can be a really powerful thing as well. Yeah, and super easy because Who has time to message every person with this, right? Here's what else it does. That's me. That's you, look at that. It replies to every comment. I have like 8 different replies. Can't wait, we are so excited, it's gonna be an awesome. So if anyone commented, that was my reply to you because it was automated. Here's what I need to tell you. It's not always right, but you know what? Sometimes it doesn't matter because we know we get more engagement the more we comment on our Instagram posts. I actually got a hate message from someone on one of our posts. It's like, whatever. Someone that was obviously like a breakdancer going, "This isn't real dance." I'm like, "Sure, okay." And it was like, You know, it was a horrible message. And so the reply to it was, "We are so excited! Can't wait to see you there!" Then, as you can see, Chelsea commented, "Wow, let's go!" It replied. Then straight away after that, she got a message that said this, yeah? It said, "We are so excited! Have you got your tickets yet?" So that person that got the hate message, they got that message, and then they like launched into a full full-blown in my DMs with me. Like, why would you write that up? I'm like, yeah, but you know what, I don't care. And sometimes it is— I think it's hilarious. He obviously did not appreciate it. But you know what, sometimes we spend too much time trying to make it perfect, you know. And, you know, I could have gotten them gone, oh my God, That wasn't the right reply, how embarrassing. And like some of them are also, you know, was not a hate message. Some of them was like, hey, can I find out more about tickets? And the reply was, we are so excited. Not the right reply, but any reply is better than nothing. And sometimes it doesn't have to be perfect, yeah? Sometimes good enough is okay. And then obviously I went back to it, went, hey, sorry, you got an automated reply, here's what you need. Yeah, later. So I do think that that can be a really powerful thing for your studio, even just to start conversations. All right, so that is an awesome one. What does my next slide say? All right, how we going for time, Nath? What time am I talking to? Okay, cool, my party, I can do whatever I like. Wonderful. Okay, wonderful, thanks. Can I just ask one question? Yes, please. Is that only for particular posts or is that— No, you can do it whatever you like. But if I wrote timetable on another one of your posts, would it— So timetable, for example, is set up that if you, actually I don't remember how I set it up. So when you set it up, it can be, make this for any post or make it for this post. You know what I mean? So you can choose in the backend. So it recognizes a word? Yeah, there's like a keyword. So that's why I like that other Instagram was like, comment timetable. Yeah. Um, how about we all do it? Grab your phone, go to Dance Principals United. Instagram Dance Principals United. Sorry, I really should have had a slide for this and I I did not. Dance Principles United, jump on any post because I was gonna do a post saying comment here and I forgot because I've been busy and write the word robots. Okay, here we go. As you write the word robots, hopefully if it was set up well very late on Friday night from Mel, it works properly and you'll get like a— with all the stuff that we chatted about today. There you go, you got it. You should get a DM with it. Thanks for commenting. Here's the link to download your robots page. Suddenly it uses— I didn't know it was the same one as a million people. Everyone else is going to be looking at our Instagram going— I just got it. You just got it. Yeah, it just sometimes takes a minute. And you can make it take longer. Yeah. Perfect. So I could actually, to Zoe's question, You know, I could say, hey, reply straight away, reply in 5 minutes, reply in 24 hours. Yeah, whatever I like. Yeah, cool. Awesome. Let's move on. But yeah, definitely download that because it's also got all the prompts. You know that sales coach one? It actually says what to put into ChatGPT so that you can practice doing that as well. So that might help. We all good? Can I keep going? Yes. Because I want to show you my favorite. Yes. Does that mean it works for Facebook as well? It sometimes works for Facebook. It's an Instagram company, which is also meant to be a Facebook company, but sometimes not so much. It wasn't anything. Okay, and maybe I only did it for some posts. Yeah, I will double-check it for you. As I said, I've got to be honest, this was a very quick last-minute— I wasn't going to do the extra bit, and I was like, no, no, I want you all to have a guide. So I will come back to it. It might be if you don't follow us. I do now though. There you go. So now maybe try it again. Because there are also settings. There's privacy settings depending on how you have your Instagram. Just so you know, once again about it not being perfect all the time. If you have like a private Instagram and you don't allow— like it can't get through those walls if you've set up privacy things. And there are some people who are like, Don't let people message me. If you've clicked that, it obviously is not gonna, a robot is not gonna magically message you, right? So there's that kind of stuff as well. Alright, let's keep going. I wanna talk pro. I wanna talk about things that are exciting me at the moment that we couldn't do 6 weeks, 8 weeks ago by any stretch of the imagination. My favorite new AI, I just like this cute photo 'cause it's fun. It means nothing. My favorite new AI tool is Claude. Claude, anyone tried it yet? Oh, good. Yeah, it is freaking amazing. It is so much better than ChatGPT. It is absolutely crazy. And like, doesn't mean that's going to be the case in 4 weeks. I've got to be completely honest. Yeah, things keep growing and moving. It keeps changing. But at the moment, this is amazing. Its writing style is heaps better than ChatGPT's. You know when you get shitty captions from ChatGPT? Yeah, Claude does not do that. It actually gives really good writing styles. It actually asks better questions. It asks for better feedback before it gives you the answer, rather than ChatGPT almost just starts giving you what you ask for without going, hey, can I just check, is this what you meant by— this one asks questions before it goes, and it means you get a better answer first, right? So I highly recommend Claude. It is great. Is it perfect? Nope. Is it getting there? Yes, absolutely. So Dionne was horrified to know that I started being the uniform coordinator for Kaimo. She told me to step away from that for my kids' soccer club. Yeah. So I am the uniform coordinator for the soccer club. This is once again an AI image. But that's actually the paper forms that they made Nathan and I hand, yeah, Nate's like standing in the back going, "It was fucking painful." We had to like get each coach to sign a piece of paper agreeing that they took X amount of jerseys in this size and that they agreed to return them on this date and blah blah blah blah. Yeah, they also then just told me I had to make them sign two pieces of paper so that they could take one and I could keep one. This makes no sense whatsoever. I'm like, why do they not sign their own piece of paper? This does not make any sense. I also had to record on there— you can't quite see— but at the top, like, the sizes. And sometimes it was like, hey, you get 20 40 balls, but that one was crossed out and it's like this person actually got 19 balls or whatever it was, right? So I had all these pieces of paper. There was like 65 teams. Yes, Nath? Oh, is that a 5-minute? I thought you were asking a question, sorry. I'm like, why are you asking a question? You were here. There was like, I don't know, 65 teams and we hand wrote in all the details. And I was like, fuck that, I need a better thing. So I took bad photos, bad photos at the soccer club on the grass at night of every single piece of paper. I uploaded them into Claude. I said, "Oh yeah, this is what the pieces of paper looked like." I obviously just blanked out that person's name. But look, it was not pretty. There was handwriting, there were bad photos. As you can see, maybe that it's actually like underground lights there and all of that kind of stuff. I took a photo of all of this. I then quickly uploaded the photos to Claude and said, "Make me a spreadsheet." Within 2 minutes, I'd also like to tell you that I hadn't told Claude that it was for Kyma Junior Football Club, it put it in the right colors for me. Because they're not my brand colors, it knows my brand colors, but these are Kyma Junior Football Club's brand colors. And it actually wrote that the under-12 girls have all these sizes. They actually didn't get cones for some bizarre reason, and they got 8 bibs instead of the recommended 10 for that team, right? And it literally did it while I got home. I uploaded them all, all the photos, and I then went and— I'm gonna say ate dinner, not cooked dinner— and then came back and I was like, that's much nicer, I'll put that up. Yes? Makes so much more sense. Obviously in your studio this could be uniforms, this could be your handwritten notes from your costume cupboard, this could be anything. No, I'm just gonna say, like, it's amazing. Is it accurate? Yes, absolutely, because that was absolutely my question. That was my question too, because some of the photos were bad. It did ask me because they were on clipboards when I took them. Some of them he couldn't quite read, you know, when the clipboard sits over the— it actually checked. There was some of them, it's like, hey, I wanted to check. It looks like it's under 12B, but is that under 12B or is it under 13B? And it actually asked for clarification. I then went and checked it. I wouldn't normally, but I did check it because I was like, I wonder if this is actually— it's right. It's 100% right. Yeah. Cool, right? And so you could use this in your studio, like, because we all know we should be putting things in spreadsheets and not writing it on pieces of paper. We know that, don't we? We've all got hand pieces of paper everywhere. And you can use this to create, yeah? Really, really easily. So much better. Is this like on the free one or on the paid? You probably need a paid one. But you know what? Chelsea's question just then was, do you need the paid one? Um, yes, it times out otherwise. I was having a chat to Kiralee before and it times out. Um, yeah, yeah, it can't do this. You know what though, um, I think I pay $39 a month for Claude. Yeah, it's a very cheap— and someone asked me that, they're like, do you pay ChatGPT? Do you pay Claude? I'm like, yes, because it's much cheaper than a staff member, right? Okay, last thing I want to show you. This is gonna be a quick mind-blowing— I'm teaching all this, our Studio Growth Club members, we're teaching this later. This is what I get every morning on my phone in my brand colors from Claude. 3 days to go till Dance Teacher Expo. I actually, I've got to be honest, I did change this a bit. It also tells me how much I spent on Facebook ads. It also tells me how many sales I got. I thought you might be horrified to see that, so I thought I would not share that. Ah, how many sales. It also jumps into my inbox of any of the emails I got overnight, and it replies to them all and has it sitting in drafts for me at 7:30. Yeah, I know, right? I'm gonna show you. So I want to show you this little video. This is what I get every morning. It's telling me this is what the weather's like, what it's gonna be like on Expo Day. Here are the emails that I got in the last 24 hours since I checked. And P.S., you also still haven't replied to this email down the bottom that you really should have. And also, you know, school fees are due. Also, this is what I've gotta do on my calendar today. But here's the more valuable bit and the bit that I love. I can jump into my email. Let's see if I'm doing this right. Jumping into my email and there's my last couple of emails and it's written a draft. I can go, yep, that's right, send. Or I can go, actually no, I also need, I can't remember what I've written in this video, plus let's add 2 more for Business Room 2. You can see that that's written fast because I've used that WhisperSoft. Yep, sent. Here's the next email. Someone saying, how can I park at Dance Teacher Expo? Here you go, there's the answer, Karen. Karen, there's public transport that you could have found out on Google, but I'll send it to you anyway. Next email. Are tickets still available? Absolutely. 'You should come.' Send. Yeah, so it's doing that every morning for me. Yeah, I also— this is real questions I got, by the way, I just changed the thing. You know, 'Is there anywhere to eat?' And so then I can see that that is all done. I don't know if there's any more of this video. Oh yeah, I should have pressed that, taken that out. Cool. I'm doing that every day. How could you do that in your studio? Number one, in emails? Step 1. As I said, I'm also doing it for Facebook ads, how much I spent, yeah, how well they performed, yeah. What about, what are your student numbers? Yeah, can you report my student numbers? So 7:30 every morning I get this nice pretty little thing, and it's pretty because that makes a big difference to me. We taught this a little while ago at probably 6 months ago, and it wasn't working this well, right? And it was ugly as fuck. And I don't like looking at ugly things. Like, you guys are all creatives like me. I want it to be pink. I want it to have emojis. I want it to be pretty because I'll take more notice of it. Yeah? And so that's actually quite easy to do. It looks hard, but it's actually quite easy. Yeah? And there's so much power to what we can do. And so if we can do that today, what can we do in 6 months' time? What can we do in 2 months' time? My what? Oh, good. If you'd like any of this information, please comment robots on any of my posts and it will be sent to you. I hope you've enjoyed that. I hope it's been able to open your possibilities. The possibilities. If you'd love to chat about what you could do in your studio, please scan the QR code. And book in a meeting with me. But there's so many incredible things that you can do in AI, and I'm so excited. I was spending next month deep diving AI with our members and really going into like what's possible and how to actually do it. And I'll spend all the time working out if it works or not before they— so they don't have to, which I love. But it is incredible. There are so many things. I hope you learned something from today. Thank you so much, guys, for coming along. We hope you enjoyed this episode of the Dance Principals United podcast.
