Deposit Love Daily: The Practice That Prevents Family Disconnection | coach Ambereen

Coach Ambereen says families drift apart when you stop actively depositing love daily. She describes love as building an emotional bank account through hugs, play, and presence, not just discipline. She challenges you to spend one week adding joy tailored to what lights each person up.

Deposit love as a challenge. I often talk about the need to actually practice love or to say you love somebody. Your family knows you love them. Do they feel love? Is the actual question. And this is the thing that I want every single parent to understand, every single family member to understand, that unless and until you actually deposit, daily deposit the things that make your family feel loved, you start to actually get disconnected. So what are we going to learn today? We're actually going to learn how to deposit love versus depositing discipline, how to add joy and fun versus being strict and rigid. How to actually build a deeper connection by expressing love. All right, so let's dive in. How do you actually deposit joy to practice love? When was the last time that you paused? Build an intentionality to create more joy. Joy is an energy that you and I get to exchange. You and your kiddo gets to exchange. You and your husband or your wife gets to exchange. How often are you actually practicing showing up with the intentionality of joy, of presence, of really, really, really making sure that you're uplifting them. And if you're not, then don't be sad when you feel like everything is mundane. The second thing that I said is so important, which is this idea of adding fun. And fun is such a great love language that people don't leverage enough. Okay. Even in my own house, I'm gonna be completely honest with you. I really force myself to have fun, to do goofy things, to be spontaneous with my kids. Like today, what I did to my son is I sat next to him on the same couch and said, give me some love. He's like, mom. Mom, move back. Mom, get away. Mom. What are you doing, woman? What do you want? All I said is, give me some love. And I intentionally, forcefully gave my son kisses, took hugs from him. And then that is something that's being seen by the other kiddos, by the other family members. That simple way of connecting, building fun into our lives. Besides just being so strict and rigid and mundane, like, get this done, do this thing, eat this food, stop the tech, bro. Sis, come on, let's add more fun to life. Why? Because that's how you actually pour in daily, intentionally, to really shift and build that emotional bank account for your family. The last thing that I said is, let's really dive in and connect intentionally to express the love that they want you to express. Oftentimes, what we will do as brothers and sisters, as husband and wives, as mom and kiddos, as dad and kiddos, even as siblings, we give people the love that we think we want. So someone asked me today on a call. They said, how is it that you operate? And what is your lovely ujambreen? So I said, you know what? I loved acts of kindness. I love it when somebody serves me. When I get to serve somebody, that's my love language. But I didn't really know that until recently. So when people would give me gifts, people would kind of give me validation, I didn't really feel loved. So what is your job today? Your job today is to intentionally practice love. Why? Because this is a challenge that I'm giving you, and I'm not playing games.
