Embracing Childlike Attitude for Joy

Coach Ambereen and a guest argue that adults can find more joy by acting like kids: unselfconscious, creative, willing to improvise. They share a story about her nephew using a fork backward and suggest trying small weird things to break rigid adult habits.

Faithful day to you. I pray Today is filled with moments.
Where you surrender to know that all that we can do at the end of the day is just have only control of ourselves.
And today's been this theme consistently since I've woken up. And today I want to actually talk.
To you a little bit about what it is to be childlike.
The reason why I'm saying that is my nephew is right here sitting next.
To me eating, and I've been watching.
Him for a little bit, so taking.
Way too long for him to usually eat.
But I keep reminding myself, be.
Be a 3 year old, what would you do? Of course I'm not going to sit down and eat, you know, consistently. So he's gotten up quite a few times and now what he's doing is something super creative. He's actually eating with the back of the fork. First he began eating. He didn't want to. He did not want a spoon or fork, nothing. So he took it and he put it to the side.
Then he started to pick it up and I was like, well, there's a.
Lot of food in here, so you.
Can definitely eat by yourself.
I don't really need to help you. And took the, took it and of course turned it around and with a flat edge, just kind of scooping up the food and putting it in his mouth.
Is that normal?
Yeah.
Could we see ourselves adults doing it?
No.
Why?
Because it's like it's too improper. Right. We only do things that are proper.
However we want to challenge you and.
Myself today to do the things that are abnormal for adults to do. Just to add more fun and even a smile on your own face. Just because. Why not? When we surrender and know that we hardly have control over anything except for the experience that we create for ourselves.
A lot of times that starts with the thoughts that we have. A lot of times that starts with.
Our behaviors and our actions. But each single one of us can do something to really add more joy, more love, more presence, and just more childlike behaviors into our lives to really begin to live a more full and.
Wonderful and hopefully consciously constructed life. With that said, sending you a ton of umbergy and a whole lot of goodness. This is X Mom signing out. Remember, keep being childlike. It's gonna make life so much more fun. I'm celebrating you and cheering you on for being amazing and remarkable and stopping.
By to hear this message.
Bye now.
