Embracing Communication for Family Growth

Coach Ambreen shares how her son complained that Grandma wakes him differently than she does. Instead of fixing it herself, she coached him to tell Grandma his preference. The lesson: people expect others to know their needs without saying them out loud.

Hey, synergy feels day to you. What does that mean to have a day filled with synergy? It just basically means a day where everything is lining up or you feel good, your energy is amazing, and whatever you want to accomplish in life is kind of getting done. So I'm challenging myself every single day to kind of push beyond and create intentions that are going to really up level who I am and where I want to go. With that said, for those of you who don't know me, my name is Coach Ambreen. I show up here every single day to provide some insights as a family driven coach as to how we can live better lives and how we can provide some tools and strategies to really be the best parent that we can be. Best parents, best aunt, best uncle, brother, sister, you name it. And today's operation was. I'm usually not somebody who sleeps in late or kind of lets other people take care of responsibilities, but this week's been pretty exhausting for me back to back, like from the time that I wake up, something's going on and partaking in a workshop to really up level my game as a coach. And so my mom was generous enough to kind of take care of the morning routine for me as I completely was like passed out. Woke up, passed out. And I was like, I don't have it in me today. And my son came to me before going, before going off to the bus stop and he came to me and he just like, he's like, hey Momo. Like, just like a very sad face. But the energy that he carried was just so pure, just so good. And he just hugged me, I hugged him back and he started talking about, hey, like, mom, grandma doesn't wake me on this the way that you do. Is it like she just literally taps my back like this? And I don't like that, I don't like this. And I was thinking in my head, how do I get him out of this mindset? He's about to go to school in a funk. And I said, hey, how about you just tell her what you want her to do? How would you like to for her to wake you up? And he listened to me and he heard me. And just the fact that he paused and didn't continue complaining made me realize that, yes, he's understood what I'm asking. So quite often in our lives, we expect something from other people, yet we never express it. It's in our minds, it's in our hearts. And they don't know what they don't know. So take the bold move and really tell people how you want to be treated. The things that you like, your viewpoints, what you feel about them, what you feel about yourself, how they really make you level up, or how they might bring you down. It doesn't really matter. Take that next step. Be bold, be respectful, and let them know what you're thinking. With that said, this is X Mom signing out with giving you a whole lot of umbergy. Take good care of yourself now. Bye.
