Curious day to you. I pray that today you let your soul's curiosity lead the way. Hey, it's Coach Ambreen here, your family driven coach once again showing up doing these ex mom series, which is just insights that I provide to you. And please feel free to share those with anybody that you know. These are ways that we can actually improve the way that we live, especially with the focus of family. As you know, I love talking about family. I love thinking about teams as families, I love thinking about organizations as families. For me, a family, somebody that you take care of that people that matter to you, those that you want to bring out the best of. And so as a high performance coach, I'm always thinking, what can I do a little bit better? And my kids are a testament to that. All the time they remind me of things that I'm doing well. However, they push me to do things that are even grander. Right. So today in the morning, my son was not able to get up. He just wasn't. I tried once, twice, three times, four times. And I said, hey, buddy, I'm going to let it go. I'm going to let you wake up at your own time. And then there was a point in time where he was just not. He was just not getting out of bed. Finally got up and stood outside the bathroom for a little bit. And I said, hey, bud, you got to go downstairs. And he said, what do you mean? I said, you know, the do the rule. And the deal is that unless you can finish off with the bathroom super fast, you know, it'll be difficult for you to use the upstairs bathroom because that's the common bathroom. And he goes, what does that even mean? Why do I have to follow that rule? I'm not going to follow. And there's like, just like a plethora of emotions coming through because he just did not want to get up and didn't feel like he was well rested and so woke up in a rut. And as a mother, I kind of had to bring my, you know, my stern voice to play, especially in the morning hours. I don't like to do that at all. And I said, hey, I don't need you talking to me like that. And he goes, you're being rude. And I said, you're raising your voice to me. That's not acceptable, let's say, even if I was, you know, better than to raise your voice as your mother, and that's not something we expect from you at all. And the conversation kind of unfolded. But what he reminded me was that If I don't talk to him respectfully, why am I to assume that he will give me respect even if he's in a bad mood, if he's mad? And he literally was in this place of like, you can't make me. And at that time I'm like, hey, I'm just letting you know what I expect. Don't expect me to keep engaging with you. You know what you gotta do. And I gave myself grace while reminding myself to be more respectful towards him. So as a parent, when you're going through these tough times, as a family member, maybe you and your brother's butt head or, you know, you and your mom don't get along as well as you want to, you know, just try to embrace this, this topic of you're just gonna pause and stop talking, realize you don't have to be right, you don't have to be wrong, but your energy and your mental sanity is far more important and far more precious to keep evolving this into something even bigger. But that said, really do let me know what is serving you in these conversations. What do you want me to focus on? What are some difficulty challenges that you're facing in your own families where I can shed some light and even learn a little bit from you? So this is the ex mom, as always, signing up before I do that, sending you a ton of emergee and a whole lot of goodness. Take good care now. Bye.
