Leading Children, Not Managing Them

Coach Ambereen argues parents should lead by example rather than manage through control. She shares how her daughter asked her to skip volleyball to talk, then told her to celebrate herself. The shift: model the behavior you want, recognize your child's feelings, and let them guide you back to what matters.

Harmonious day to you. I pray that today we feel a sense of balance and equilibrium, to be in a state of positivity and goodness. Hey, it's your coach. I'm ready to serve you as I provide tips and tricks, solutions, maybe perspectives where you can build strategies to just live a little bit more holistically, harmoniously in your homes with the center and a focus of family. I am super passionate about families and I feel it is the most important relationship in the entire world. I think often we don't spend enough time appreciating, recognizing, and giving the best to our families and they kind of get what's left of us, not the best of us. That's what my. One of my mentors said, and I think it's a brilliant way to put it. So thanks for tuning in. Today I want to focus on just celebration. I'm going to share a small story from yesterday to add that value and impact in of when we really lead with a role model mindset and do things intentionally as parents. Because I really believe that we're leaders. Often at work, you know, when you're thinking about life and you get a promotion, you start to manage people. Managers are managing. However, what if you and I stopped managing our kids and we began to lead our kids? We began to become conscious of the way we speak with them. We recognize their feelings and their process and held them accountable, held them responsible. But even with all of that, we were just consciously leading our families the same way you would lead a team if you were promoted. And so Nuala, on this thought, what's the difference between a manager and a leader? And start to think about the story I'm telling you. And I'm going to do a very great job, hopefully, of connecting the dots because this is all kind of just coming out. Nothing is planned. There's no script, nothing. And my daughter, you know, yesterday messaged me she needed me. And so I was at an event, at a networking event, and I called her back and she was like, oh, you know, when are you coming home? And I said, well, I'm gonna, you know, go play some volleyball after this. And she said, okay. She needed to talk to me. And I tried to speak with over the phone. She wouldn't. She just wouldn't do it. So she was, okay, mom, go have fun in volleyball. I'll talk to you later. And she hangs up. And I sat there and I thought, well, she really needs me. And the more important thing for me is to show her that she matters more than me going to Play a sport. So I messaged her and I said, hey, you know what? I could definitely come back and I can be there with you and we can talk it through, because that's far more important, you know, that you're far more important than me, than any sport. And what she said was, no, mom, good. Go celebrate yourself. And I thought, my daughter is telling me to celebrate myself, which means must have done something right. But at this point in time, it's not that grand like it is right now, where I'm reflected on and processed it with you guys. And then we keep talking about, like, what's going on. And, okay, well, let's kind of let me know what. What is happening a little bit so you can kind of sleep a little bit better. And so she's texting me, and we're kind of going back and forth. And then I said, okay, well, you know, I want to. I think it's more important I come home. Let me come home and we'll talk about it. And she goes, no, no, Mom, I really need you to go and celebrate yourself. I'm okay. We'll be fine. I said, what if we went on a walk in the morning and you and I talked it through? She goes, yeah, that sounds like a great plan. Please have fun. Celebrate yourself. And as a mom, I say that all the time to them. Celebrate life. You know, I'm super energetic, super pumped up. I think it's one of the most. The biggest blessings in our, you know, is to be alive today, to be here, ready to serve, to make an impact, to do something differently. And I really love that what I embodied is what she saw. So I am leading with intentions. I'm leading with a role model mindset. I'm leading with my energy and my emotion and my character and my actions. If you're somebody who wants to learn how to lead your family, who really wants to stop the bickering and the disharmony in the home and the yelling and the screaming and the disrespect and the lack of listening and the horrible communication in your homes. I am the perfect fit for you. What makes me a great coach is I have this ability to courageously celebrate you. What does that mean? It means I will hold you accountable and push you in ways that you never thought was possible. Really allow you to connect and connect dots from your past and really see how they're pouring into your family right now and not serving them. However, when you make those small, incremental moves, I am the first to celebrate you. I will push you and I will celebrate you. I will be your number one champion. Why? Because for me it is so important to leave a world behind where parents are leading their families and do an intentional job of leaving the generations to come in much better mindsets, thought sets, lifestyles and just an elevated way of being. So reach out to me. DM me it's just of course coach and brain. I would love the honor to kind of have that moment with you where we just talk through you know on a, on a complimentary call to talk through and see where you're at in your life and how I can serve you and really allow you to elevate yourself to really celebrate life once again and to pour in the best of who we are to not only ourselves but to all those relationships and the people that we impact on a day to day basis. With that said, sending you a ton of energy filled with positivity, harmony and a beautiful balance. This is X Mom signing out. Take good care folks. Bye now.
