A short reflective YouTube vlog by Coach and Brain (Coach Ambereen) about communicating needs to children and practicing self-care during busy morning routines. The speaker recounts an anecdote where a child repeatedly asked questions while she was trying to prepare to leave; she calmly asked for a brief quiet period ('I'm in a place right now where I just need to stay a little bit quiet. Is it okay?'), which produced immediate silence. The piece illustrates how clear, kind requests help parents protect focus and model compassionate boundaries.

Radiant day to you. Today is a day filled with just brightness, really amazing moments, moments that are going to be uplifting for you, for me, and for all of us. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Coach and Brain. And as a family driven coach, I show up here consistently to serve you to write some tools and strategies as to how we can live better and more holistically as a family. So welcome, welcome. Today's topic is a reflection. And I'm doing this super late because I did not get around to doing it in the morning time, which is when I mostly do it. And it's this understanding of when our kids are constantly asking us questions and we are in a place where we don't want to answer them, or we are having thoughts in our minds that are preoccupying our, our brains and we don't want to just keep getting going back and forth. What do we do? I feel like it was always this understanding that I have to answer them. I have to answer them right away so I can make them feel like they understand and they're feeling validated and they're feeling heard. But I tried something different today. So in the a.m. hours, they ask a lot of questions, like simple things like, oh, where's my backpack? Oh, where's my iPad? Oh, did you pack my lunch? Oh, what's for lunch? Oh, what are we gonna have for dinner? Oh, what time is it? Oh, what's the weather? The list goes on and on. And the more that we as parents engage with our little ones or even other people in the morning, the more they start to converse with us. And I was in this place today where I wanted to get a few things done before I left the house to drop my kid off and then go work out. So he's asking me some questions. I answered one, I answered two, I answered three. And I'm trying to be in the state where I can organize my mind before heading out the door to know what it is I need to keep, where everything is that I that I need and how quickly can I grab and go. And I also had to pack my own breakfast on the go, so I'm thinking about that as well. While all this is happening in my mind, I look at the kitchen and I'm like, man, this needs some love. Like, I gotta work on this right now. I don't want to leave the house like this and come back to chaos. And they usually are pretty good about, you know, cleaning up after themselves, but today the dishwasher was fully loaded. And so they just kind of kept the dishes by the sink. So here I am as a mom, trying to figure out what to do. I look at the table and there's some things that are left there, right? And you're like, okay, gotta pick that up too. And I'm just in this zone. I'm like, just washing dishes, cleaning up, and he's asking questions. And I. And I'm like, hey, bud. He's like, huh? I'm like, I'm in a place right now where I just need to stay a little bit quiet. Is it okay? Is that okay? He's like, oh, okay. After that, it was pin drop silence. He didn't ask me anything. He didn't keep prying. He didn't keep wanting more. Not attention, not questions. Nothing came. And it was this really beautiful, simple moment. I was like, oh, if I communicate with him what I want and do it with just kindness and gentle compassion, it works. It sounds like such a simple thing. And so I told myself, you've done it before, now apply it consistently. Ask them and tell them what you need. Because nobody's in my mind. Nobody's in your mind. So if we start to communicate with our loved ones, what it is that we need, you'll understand just a little bit better. With that said, sending you a whole lot of umbergy. Take good care of yourself. This is X Mom signing out. Bye.
