A short coaching conversation (Coach Ambereen with Izzy) about productivity and staying focused. Izzy describes frequent task-switching and inconsistent pre-task rituals; the coach emphasizes scheduling/blocking time, using timers, and setting explicit reminders. Concrete tactics discussed include writing tasks down, using a timer, pre-task anchoring (tapping/deep breathing), and phone reminders as accountability to prioritize work.

Sure, I'll go. Something that I think kind of I, I struggle with a little bit is like, I, I, I, I tell myself I'm not staying focused enough, and I'm switching tasks, like, too often, and it's not keeping me, like, it's not maximizing my productivity, and I'm, like, getting frustrated with that.
Yeah, Sounds like a bandwagon. Most of us are on the whole day. Okay, so let me ask you, Izzy, like, what are you doing right now to set an intention to stay focused on that one task?
I usually. I'll try and write it down. I'll write it, I'll write it down. That's what I do. Or I said, that's really good. That helps me.
Yeah. Set a timer or set time.
Set time. Sorry. Yes. Set, like, yeah.
Okay, so let's say Izzy is working on her podcast, which she does, actually, and she's like, you know what 1pm is when that podcast time is. We're gonna sit there and edit the podcast and make sure it's, like, delightful for my, for my users. It's exactly what I want it to be. It's on the books. One of the most important things we have to recognize is in order for things to move, you have to schedule time. You don't want to block the time out. The day will run you by. And yes, you will be on Netflix all day, and you will know, oh, my God, it is 8:30 at night. Okay. What a great day. Block the time. And that's what you're doing, which I love. But as you block the time before you start that activity, how are you telling your mind, your body, your soul, your heart, it's all in. This is all that matters right now. This, we talked about this for you is priority. How are you doing that?
I'm not doing that consistently. Like, sometimes I will do that, and I'll do tapping and deep breathing and get locked in, but I'm not doing that every time, so.
All right. Yeah, yeah. How do we ensure you do that every time?
Accountability, maybe.
Okay. And how are you holding yourself accountable?
I don't know.
This bad boy here, right?
Yeah.
This is a is, It's a tool. Right. With any tool, you abuse it or you use it. This thing just went off at 10, you know, like, for me, 1155, saying it's time to dance reminds me things. Right. It resets my intention. Okay, so how would, how would your day shift? How would you prioritize that task? How will you be fully committed to making sure that you get that done if you were to able. If you were able to use your phone as a tool to help you get there.
Just setting reminders. I think setting reminders would be key. Yeah. Yeah.
All right, well, that's what I'm going to hold you to. Are you setting a reminder to set the intention that this is priority?
