Setting Expectations Care for Others

Coach Ambereen uses her child's observation of her evening frustration to explain why clear expectations and presence matter in families. She offers a three-month coaching program built on five habits: clarity, energy, productivity, influence, and courage. Cameras stay on during sessions so families actually show up for each other.

One of the things that I think is really important is to recognize my own self, right. My kiddo said to me last night, she said, hey, mama, like what happens at night time? Because that's when you, like get frustrated. And I thought I was doing pretty well on the control, the energy and give off good vibes. But she's like a wise little one, right? And she can feel it. She can feel the pressure underneath my, my band aid. And I said, well, at the end of the day, you know, I've kind of begun my day really early into the morning hours. And I've done, done, done, done, done. And now the end of the day is my time to unwind, is to focus on me, for me to reflect, to journal, to read, to meditate, to pray, whatever it is that I want to do. But if you guys are not going to sleep on time every single day, that's cutting my time shorter or putting me into a sleeping at a time that's later. So I think that's why you feel some frustration. But what a beautiful way that she just set an expectation to let me know how to better care for her. Right? And I think it's these simple examples and simple moments when we listen to people that we can actually understand what it is that they need. Right. And some of the chat mentioned that my spouse vocalize my appreciation for his personal every passion and his connection to my kids. Yeah. I think it is so bold of us to actually celebrate and appreciate the people inside our homes because quite often over the people that we're giving lack to, even though those should be the highest people, it's not always the case. Right. A great way, you know, to show appreciation is just to be fully present. And when you're fully present, you will feel someone caring for you. It's. It's just, it's gonna happen, right? When you feel cared for by others is when you'll notice that they're very present with you, that they're intentional with you. So I wanna talk to you guys a little bit, just a quick moment on, you know, what it is that I offer families and why I think I'm a great coach. I think I'm a great coach because I am somebody who is present, who is the biggest cheerleader. Like, that's my intention when I'm coaching someone is like, I want to cheer you on because if I see a potential that you can't, that you haven't even tapped into yet, if I can see it, I can make you believe it. Right. And the only way for us as family members to get on this journey together, where we unite, we create a bond that is centered around growth and acceptance and shared value. Right. And we're engaging and deeply connecting through love, through respect. Right. And I think the most important thing here, like through fun, we, I think, as humans have forgotten how to have fun. And fun for me is this like literally very fun conversation for me. But I had to make the intention to bring the joy, to make it something that was lighthearted, not to overthink it. Right. And so why I work with families one on one to kind of take them through this journey of high performance habits. And there is a three month program where I work with the family every single week and coach them. And then I build upon these habits of high performance. And those are clarity, you know, energy. Talked about that a little bit. The need to have productivity increased. You want to make sure you're focusing on influence and courage. Right. And those five are the high performance habits that we'll focus on during this coaching journey. And we also have a very different structure where in these conversations you're going to be engaging with your family too. Not just only me. The intentionality is to create and unify all of you, to feel like you're one compact unit, right. That you're all charging forth. And so that happens one on one. And then the youth program of it is making sure that I'm working with adolescents. And the reason why adolescents is so important for me is it'll make me better understand little people. And if I can somehow serve these people and make them know and recognize that there are people just like you in this age. Because people feel really lonely at that time. They're trying to discover who they are. They don't know right from wrong sometimes. Social influences, they've been taught something, but they're seeing something else. But if I can tap into that youth and if they can see the community that we're building and know that our challenges are the same, then what a profound way of taking your life to the next level. Because you're not going to actually dip down. You're going to stay afloat. You might dip a little bit, but you'll come right back up because you have community supporting you through these high performance habits. And every single week we'll touch upon a topic, all engaged. And in those sessions, the expectation is for everyone to have their cameras on. Right? Because for us to feel one another, you might say something, but you might do something else. And that doing is so critical and understanding that we all behave in a way we're not sometimes congruent with ourselves. We can say, oh, I like that. And you're like, whoa, doesn't seem like you liked it. But that's the only way that we can actually make and build social change, right? So as we're kind of wrapping up this session, I really do want to open the floor.
