The “Course-Correct” Method for Parents Who Lose Their Patience

In this solo coaching video, Ambereen Hameed addresses parents, partners, and caregivers who experience irritability after a rough night of sleep loss or stress. She opens with a relatable scenario of waking up short‑tempered, then shares a client story about an executive whose poor sleep led to rude interactions at home and work. Hameed explains that the first step to "course‑correcting" is recognizing our humanity and the cascade of reactions that follow. She outlines how coaching provides real‑time, customized tools for managing boundaries, communication, and role‑modeling with children, emphasizing that without conscious correction, patterns can lead to long‑term relational damage. The video concludes with a call to action to join a group coaching program designed for parents and couples at various life stages, promising community support and lasting transformation.

Hey, so what I want to ask you today is a question where, have you ever had a night where you just did not get good sleep? You tried, you were tossing, you were turning, or maybe your kiddo was sick, or maybe your spouse needed some help, and you just had a really late night. You woke up and you were irritated, pissed off, and just not on a high vibration. Can you relate? Oh yeah. Hey, if we never met, my name is Ambereen, and my intention as a family-driven coach is to make your family development a priority. Let's continue the story and find out how it all unwraps when we take on the journey of coaching, where you can have a tough night, you can be irritated, but still finish the day strong. You ready for it? Say ready down below. And we'll get started. Let's go. Now life has a lot of challenges. As a mother, as a father, as a husband, as a wife, as an employee, as an entrepreneur, the list is endless. You catch my drift? I'm sure you do. Now one of my clients who came to me as an executive said, Ambereen, I just, I cannot believe the way I showed up today. I was not myself. And I said, well, great, let's tackle what was going on. So she said, I had a really rough night, you know, I hardly got any sleep. I woke up and I was already irritated, just in a really bad place. So because I woke up late, The kids woke up late and we're all playing catch-up, and I found myself in this place where I just kept like just being short-circuited. Everything that I was saying was rude, disrespectful. I had this nasty tone, Ambereen. And I said, oh yeah, tell me about that nasty tone. We've all had it, okay? So it's not like it was only a her thing or a him thing. It's a thing we all go through, right? And so I want you to say Me too. In the comments, if you just like us feel what this pain is, as a parent you go back and reflect and you're like, man, I was rude to my kid, man, I was not patient with my husband or my wife, why did I do that? Why did you do it? Because you did not catch yourself, stop yourself, and course correct. Now this space that we have, We're not judging you. We're telling you, me, you, we're all the same. It is the toughest job in the world to raise a family, to be in a marriage, to really try to build this harmony with work and life. And the reason why harmony is so important is because in my eyes, in my world, there's no such thing as a work-life balance, which everyone is striving for. So as we unpack the story for her, we found out that Her manager, you know, was going through a rough patch and kind of, he was in the middle of a divorce. So he was just mad and he wasn't supportive and he needed a lot of time and he kept like falling behind and the whole team kept falling behind because of him. So he's facing his own struggles. The great thing that she did is she signed on coaching. As soon as she felt that she was being compromised as a leader in her home and in her workplace, she was like, okay, What support can I leverage? She hopped on coaching, and as we troubleshooted and workshopped this simple scenario— what happens when you wake up late? How do you catch yourself and then actually create change in life, right? Like, this is happening as life is unfolding, so you're not gonna have a grudge against yourself or feel bad later in the day with your kids. Well, first and foremost, you stop and you say, you know what, I recognize I'm being human. I am being human. Now, if you really understand what I mean by that, I want you to stay until the end and keep listening because this actually can support and help you tremendously. As human beings, we all have very similar challenges. Most of us don't know how to communicate with our kids, so we find ourselves getting caught up, getting frustrated, irritated, mad, screaming, yelling, you know, really trying to leverage that authoritative parenting style. Many of us don't really understand what it is to have healthy boundaries with our spouses, so we overgive and we get underdelivered. We feel like they know the compromise, the sacrifice that we're making, whether it be you as a husband who's working 60 hours to bring home the wealth that you need to create a lifestyle, or you as a mother who's dropping the kids off, running the extracurricular activities after working Praying that he understands. It's all the same. What does coaching do? It really provides you with tools, strategies, custom approaches that work with you and your mindset in real time, where you are in life right now. So if you're somebody who has a newborn, the coaching gets customized to you as a mother of a newborn or as a father of a newborn. If you've got a teenager, oh yeah, folks, time to level up. Unless and until your kids see you role modeling the way, they will never ever ever do what you're saying. It's called monkey see, monkey do. That's why we are social animals. So if you want to teach your kids, if you want to actually have an amazing marriage with your spouse, I'm going to encourage you to click on the link in the description and learn more about our group coaching program. Where we take parents and couples just like you on a journey together in a community so all of you level up to see that the similar challenges are happening in homes where there are vice presidents working, where they're just, you know, the average Joes, and we're all trying our best to really carve out and create moments where we stop and we course correct sooner than having regrets 10 years, 20 years later when the kids leave the home and they want nothing to do with you, or when the partner says, I'm out and I'm done, and you find yourself filing for divorce. Don't be that person. Say yes to coaching right now and truly transform your life so that, like my client's manager, you're not really filing for divorce. Until next time, sending you a ton of UmberGee and a whole lot of goodness. Bye!
