Hey, I hope you are having a day filled with just amazing moments as you realize that captivating ourselves and being in awe and inspired about everything that's going on is such a big blessing. So today I want to actually drop a little bit of insight with my daughter. So last night before she went to bed, she was like, hey, mom, can you wake me up at 6am? And I said to her, 6am for her, rising at her normal time is difficult. She's not an early bird. She loves to stay up at night. And so she said, yeah, yeah, 6:00am and if I don't wake up, like, mom, just put some water on me. And I thought, well, all right, let's explore the options. Let's see what happens. And I tried at 6 o' clock to wake her up. She wouldn't wake up. And I was like, at 605, like, hey, you told me to wake you up to get water on you. She goes, oh, I can't get up right now. And I looked at her and I could feel my energy shifting to be like, oh, God, it's going to be a difficult task. It's going to be so frustrating. And I thought to myself, okay, what do I do? Said, okay, well, what do you want? She goes, I just want to go to sleep. I'm so tired. And I said, okay, what do you need? And she goes, hey, ma yar, which basically means friend in our culture, said, hey, yarn, let me just relax and sleep in and can you drop us off to school? And I love the courage that she has and this persuasion skill that she leverages all the time where until she gets away, she doesn't stop. Right? And we're working on that, where you don't always have to get your way, but just the determination, dedication that she had to say, yeah, you know what, just drop us off. I had to be really mindful of the way that I reacted because I didn't want to drop them off. I had a whole list of things I had to do that that was really important. And in that moment, I asked myself, how would X mom show up? Ex mom would show up to say, okay, let me reshuffle a few things around. Use the time right now to do what I had to do and then wake her up a little bit later. That way she can rest and she can feel better and hopefully have a wonderful day. With all that said, do let me know what it is that resonates with you. What do you do in moments when things are not the way they're planned, Especially even when they're requested. What are some things that you can do differently to make sure that you are rising as a parent friend. With that said, sending you a whole lot of goodness. Ex mom signing out.
