Day 1.4 Plan for Growth with 90 Day Plans 2016Planathon.com

A guide to breaking yearly goals into 90-day plans for small business owners. The speaker explains how shorter planning cycles keep momentum going and let you adapt as things change, with practical steps to get started.
All right, so now we are at the point in the day where we are going to talk about the framework and the structure to lay out your plan so you can get the most done and not get to the end of next year and think, oh my gosh, I did not do anything in my plan. The secret to getting the maximum momentum in 2016 is to work with smaller periods of time. This is why it is so important to create 90 day plans instead of one year plans. 90 day plans give you an opportunity of time to focus very clearly in a short amount of time and then change course much faster. It's better than waiting to the end of the year thinking, oh my gosh, this didn't work. Now what? You will get to the end of a 90 day plan and identify opportunities to pivot or make adjustments or change course. And you can make those changes of course throughout the year instead of waiting till you get to the end of the year. So you can get a lot done faster and you can really harness the momentum and the nimbleness that we as small business owners have. I definitely recommend thinking big picture about the whole year and having some overarching milestones. But when you're going deep into the plans and identifying step by step what you're going to accomplish, it serves you better if you create a 90 day plan because that creates room for change and it allows you to harness your as a small business owner. So especially with kids, we gotta roll with it around here and we're constantly adjusting based on the demands that life brings on us, things that we identify from our customer audience and even feedback that we get from prospects or things that we see in the marketplace. Adios. So with that, I want to encourage you to think about your 2016 in 90 day increments. So don't worry now about creating a detailed plan for the entire year. Just worry about the first 90 days and think about milestones for the rest of the year. And with that, we have also prepared a 90 day plan template for you to use. We'll link those up in this post and I can't wait to see in the comments below what your areas of focus are going to be for your first 90 days. See you in the comments. Bye guys.
