Day 3.5 Plan to Launch 2016Planathon.com

Faraday, a launch strategist and musician, explains why you should schedule one to three product launches per year to boost sales and brand exposure. Recorded in a Calgary hotel lobby, he shares practical planning tips for timing launches throughout the year.
Hey, planethoners. My name is Faraday and I'm a launch strategist and a musician. I'm currently on tour launching my record with my band, Rosie and the Riveters. And so you're joining me in a fabulous hotel room in Calgary. My daughter's asleep in her bed in our bedroom, in our room. And so I'm doing this video from a hotel lobby. So you've probably heard about launching. Maybe you've heard of people who launch movies or albums or courses, those kinds of things. And one of the things I want to talk to you about is putting some launches in your year coming up. So why do we launch? Launching is a way for you to increase sales and increase exposure for your brand, for your business. So it's really important, give people a reason to talk about you and to buy. Launches come in various sizes. I mean, really, every time you release a blog, you're launching in some way, you know, you're putting it out on social media, you're telling your newsletter those kinds of things. So there's kind of multiple dimensions to a launch. And just because you have services, maybe you don't even have new products every year, doesn't make you, you don't have an excuse to get out of launching here because say photographers, they launch with seasons, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, you know, summer photographs of the family, school photos. Every single time they do a launch, you know, they launch the same package but with a different theme. What I'd like you to do for your plan is to look at your calendar and think about one to three launches you'd like to have. For instance, here's some other examples. A launch could be a sale. You could be doing something like Amber's doing, like a plan. A thon is a launch for her that reaches her exposure. You know, it's not. Doesn't directly lead to sales right now in this, this week, but it helps people know about Amber. Keep her talking, show how amazing and fantastic she is. I love that Amber. Yeah. So I want you to map it out for me. I know that I have an album launch of video content, important video content. I put out discounts. I put out when I add elements to my courses. I will say I've just done that last chance to get it at this price. The price is to going up. Those are all launches. Now what I want you to do is not get too mired in the details. It's really easy to say, okay, I'm gonna put my launch here for February and June and September. And what you're gonna want to do a natural progression to start working backwards thinking. Okay, then I need to have this media placement, this, these ads, this person in my team and just start. And you're just gonna put way too many planning right now for this week. What we're going to do is just start thinking, how can I make sure to add some buzz around my business? So I want you to take your Calendar and add 1 to 3. Only 1 to 3 launches in your next year because lunches are hard, lunches are big. And I don't want you to put anything else in your calendar. That awkward moment when you're in a hotel lobby and somebody comes off the elevator. I'm so glad you and I could share that together. So, yes, just put one to three. Let me just check my notes, make sure I didn't miss anything else. Hold back. Oh. A very important element is if you are. Yeah. If you are worried about, you know, if you forget any of the details. I do have a kind of a launch your course checklists about like the things you might want to do. And it's even if you're a service business or this, you know, you're not launching a course, it's worth checking out to see other ideas for your checklist for later. Not to be putting in your calendar now because you have a lot of planning to do in this plan a thon. So just put those one to three in your calendar. And it was really great to be part of this with you and I'm really having fun planning my own business here. Thank you again. I'm Faraday from Faraday.com.
