Justine Lackey walks through sales goal tracking spreadsheets for small business owners. She shows how to set up and use these tools to monitor revenue and spot growth opportunities in your business.
Hello, planners. It is Justine Lackey from GoodSenseBookkeeping.com. how are you? I am so excited to be here. I participated in the Plan a Thon in 2015. I participated in a fresh group in 2015, and it rocked my socks. I'm so excited to be on this side of the camera this year, sharing with you something that has been critical to my own success and to the success of my clients. I work with small businesses. I've been a professional bookkeeper for 18 years. I've had my company and my team for eight years. We now work with many, many entrepreneurs all across the country, helping them manage their money and master their money. And one of the techniques that I use, I implemented about five years ago when my business was kind of just like, you know, and I really wanted it to be going like. And so I went back in my work history and I remembered When I was 16, I worked in this national pharmacy chain, and we had this really yucky break room. And every week we would go in the break room and there used to be new sales goals on the wall. And if we didn't make the sales goals, the managers were pretty grumpy. And if we made them, things were cool. I didn't really think one way or the other about it. I was 16. I didn't really care. But when my own business wasn't performing the way that I wanted it to perform, I went back to that and I said, you know what? They're onto something. And I want a sales goal sheet, and I want to know what I need to be doing every week to make the revenue goals that I want to see happen in my business. So I went out and I built this spreadsheet. It's the good send sales sales goal tracking spreadsheet. And we're going to share that with you. I'm so excited for you to have it. And what it does is you can take your annual sales goal and plug it into a cell on the sheet, and then it divides it by 52 weeks, and it will tell you how much money you need to make per week to make that goal. And for example, if you want to make $100,000 a year, you basically have to make just. Just almost $1,900 a week, which breaks out to about $385 a day. And when you start to look at the numbers in compartments like this, it's much easier to metabolize. And some people say, well, I'm going to do a launch. You know, that doesn't really apply to me. Well, yeah, it does actually. If you know, you make, you know you want to, you need to make $385 a day and a launch is happening that month. Well, you're going to multiply 385 times 20 working days in the month to figure out what you need that launch to make in order to make your revenue goal. So I have to tell you, having worked with small businesses and money for so long, absolutely. One of the things that separates what I call hobbyists, like people who are kind of just doing a thing right, they're not like necessarily doing a business. And, and people who are like serious entrepreneurs, job creators, who are like on their trajectory to sell their business or you know, make their business sort of run in the background by themselves is they pay attention to their money and they pay attention to their sales. I can tell you that this year in conjunction with our sales spreadsheet, our sales tracking plan, a THON and some coaching, we've grown our sales by 58.2%. And I can tell you that, cause I track it, I know exactly what I made this time last year. And so I would encourage you to start to incorporate these really serious, smart, proven financial techniques. Like corporations do this for a reason. They do them because they work. So I invite you to look at this spreadsheet. I invite you to use it. If you need any help with it, please post in the plan A thon group and tag me. I'm happy to answer any questions. I encourage you to say it loud, say it proud. When you join your fresh group, state your intention. You know, get serious about what you want in your, your business and your life. So I wish you the best of luck. I hope 2016 is awesome and prosperous for you. I encourage everybody to join the fresh groups. I think they're awesome and thank you for this opportunity. And check us out@goodsense bookkeeping.com Thanks.
