Minisode 3: The Universe Is Knocking — Will You Answer The Door?

Hey there. I'm Amber McHugh, and I want to welcome you back to another Right on Time minisode. You know, things are truly right on time. And when you start to step into this way of living and this way of thinking, you're going to be amazed at what shows up for you and what happens for you in your life. My family has example after example after example, and we're going to share examples that we have and examples from other people as we move forward through this Right on Time podcast journey with you. But right now, I want to share a story with you about how the message you receive, the signs that you pick up from the universe, the things people say to you, the podcasts you hear, the YouTube videos you listen to, whatever it is, there's probably a reason that you are where you are right now and that you've got the message that you got at any given time. For example, when I arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in the fall of 2018, I saw a sign at a local establishment for a conference, a leadership conference that shared that speakers like Simon Sinek and Danielle Strickland, who my daughter actually interned with back in California, and other leadership experts were going to be at a conference in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. And I don't know if you've never been to Africa, this is like mind blowing that I'm in Addis Ababa and these global experts on leadership were going to be here. I mean, I had just got here. How could it be possible and could it be true? This was actually happening here because it was a small facility. I was probably going to be able to interact with these individuals at this leadership conference. And I saw the sign at first and I thought, you know, that just can't be possible. So I didn't sign up for the event. But the next time I was at the local establishment, I saw the sign again and thought, man, this, this is just too good to be true. I have to step into this experience. Even though I was very busy at the time. We were going through a large marketing campaign and a launch and I didn't necessarily have the time for it, but I had this, this little bit of a nudge that I needed to be there. So I signed up, I got my ticket, and the day got closer and I thought, I don't know if I have space for this. I don't have time for this. In fact, it was a two day event and I had to miss the first day. I was committed to going, though. I was committed to practicing this right on Time way of living. There was a reason I was supposed to be there, seeing these speakers live in Addis Ababa. So I showed up the morning of day two early, really excited. I'd missed day one. I was bummed about that. But I knew I needed to be there for some reason. And I sit down and the screen, the projector rolls down like, okay, good. I'm gonna sit in the back just in case something comes up and I've got to step out. I really want to take this all in, take in this whole experience and be able to see everything. So I was sitting in the back. This is gonna be good. I'm gonna be able to see well on that projector. And as it turns out, the projector was there because the speakers were not there live. Oh, you can imagine my disappointment. You can imagine how I might have felt a little bit duped. I don't know why, what led me to believe it was live, but I was thinking it was live. Oh, man. Well, I'm here and there's a reason I am here. I'm right on time. Because it's impossible to be late for your destiny. So as I'm moving through this experience, I've got my notebook out because I know that there is going to be a nugget in here for me. And I was about halfway through the morning and I was overwhelmed with emotion because there wasn't just one nugget, there were hundreds of nuggets that I was getting from watching these incredible speakers live on the big screen, even though it was pre recorded. And I thought to myself, thank goodness you stayed for this and thank goodness you showed up because there was message after message, lesson after lesson, that seemed like it was only for me. So with that, wherever you are, whatever's going on in your life right now, whatever messages you are receiving, listen, because there is a reason that you are where you are right now and.
