The conversation includes multiple speakers and technical difficulties typical of a live broadcast.
Hello, everyone. Welcome to the first episode of NiceOps Live. We are so glad you're here. Just to give you a little bit of background, Nice OPS Live is the first in a series of sort of television talk shows type web show where we will have guests on a regular basis. Our inaugural episode is brought to you live from. I'm at Spark and hustle actually in D.C. and then Victoria and Allison are actually both in Madison at their respective locations. We are so excited you're here and the way this is sort of going to flow, it's going to be very informal. We do not have a script that we're going through for you to present to you. We just want to have some fun and talk business at the same time. So we definitely want to make sure you get some tangible tips, some tangible results that you can bring forward and go forward in your business with. We actually also just had a guest pop up. Jill Schultz is on my team as an operations manager and I'm wondering if there's some sort of issue that she's popping up to share with us. Jill? Oh, we can't hear you, Jill. Are you on mute or am I on mute? Oh, maybe that was an accident. Okay, we will definitely keep an eye on the chat. So if you have any questions, definitely feel free to post them here in the chat. We'll keep an eye on that. We're going to stay engaged on the line. Jill might pop in periodically as well and she's asking now if everyone can hear me. I hope so. Can't hear anything. Oh, no, it's not broadcasting, Amber. It is broadcasting on my end.
Yeah, it says on air for me too.
Oh, and for me, technical difficulties.
Okay, I'll refresh.
Okay, let me give you the embed just in case that doesn't work. I'll give you the embed code again. Hopefully the refresh works. All right, so definitely we expect bloopers because this is live. So that's part of the fun of it, in my opinion. And so definitely post your questions, post any feedback that you've got. In addition, we're going to go about 20 minutes. You are busy business owners, so we are about getting you the information fun in a fun way and as quickly as possible. And then if you have follow up questions, definitely ping me on email. We'll keep an eye on the chats and we can also tweet with the hashtag Nice OPS Live later as well. So with that, we're going to open it up and I'm going to introduce in more detail Our fabulous guest, Victoria, who designed my new website, niceops.com and she actually did more than design it. She is responsible for the name niceops.com which is how I originally came to know Victoria through her naming and super luxe naming experience, talked her in and twisted her arm into doing some design. She'll tell you a little bit more about that. She partnered with Allison, who did all of the development over at Tiny Blue Orange. Amazing. Not only were they working on my websites and then I'm going to turn it over to them, but Victoria was also designing her website and Allison was developing all three of our websites. So we all have fresh websites and we are here to celebrate that as well. So thank you, ladies, for being here. Yay. Victoria, since I started with you in the overview, tell us. And I said I was going to give them three words or less, but I can't do that to you. I'm sorry. I took a note. Tell us about your business and tell us about this whole experience.
Okay. Well, my business in a nutshell is branding. What I've been doing in the last year is really focusing on helping people develop brand names, taglines for both their whole big brand and their offerings in particular. I come to it in a sort of roundabout way because I do have a background as a designer. And so I feel like even though what I focus on with my clients is this idea of the language itself, I really bring a lot of experience kind of into the back end of it because I'm a visual communicator as well. When I work with my clients, I try to keep the whole brand in mind. Even though we're starting from a place of language, then the new direction I'm going to be taking with my business is customer experience. That is a very broad topic and is a very broad phrase, but in essence, it's sort of the macro view of your business through your customer's eyes. Every place that your business and your client customers touch, you need to really have an awareness and bring a definite point of view and a design to that. And when I say design, I don't necessarily mean visual design. I mean an awareness that you're making decisions on purpose and not letting things default. So brand and customer experience.
There's your three words, awareness on purpose, not default. I would tweet that if I had default, no good. Accessible right now. That was good, Allison.
Yay.
As far as three words I would choose. Yeah, no, design, development and security is my focus. So I have a background in graphic design, but got roped into the Internet and website design when I was still in college and after working on e commerce websites, decided that I really wanted to help small business owners grow their business online and their online presence. So for me, it's about making the systems work online, making the website do the work for them. So I love working with clients and saying, did you know you could automate this? Or did you know we can get Google to automatically do that for you? And kind of saving them time and in the end, money, because we all know that time is money. And then lately, I've been focusing a lot on site security because I've been hearing a few too many horror stories. And I've been on the other end of those horror stories where entire sites have gone down, data's been lost, products have been lost, and I just. I hate seeing that. I hate reading about it. And I want to do my part to help ladies avoid that stress and that headache. So that's kind of my end of the deal. Did we lose Amber?
I think she's frozen so well. Okay, well, I'm going to step in since, you know.
