Short YouTube commentary by Andrea Jones (8th question in the Executagility® Assessment) emphasizing that each prioritized project should have a clearly designated Project Manager who handles day-to-day organizational activities. Jones warns that lack of a designated Project Manager causes role confusion, sporadic work, frustration or animosity, or inappropriate involvement of sponsors/leadership.
It is clear who the Project Manager is for each prioritized project. Project Manager is the day to day team member who handles the organizational activities for the project. Probably can guess. This is one of my favorites. If there's no one who's designated to be the project Manager, someone might step into the role but then either they're not sure if they should be doing it. Is that really their job? And the other people are like is that really their job? Why are they following up like this? And it's confusing. It can lead to some frustration and maybe even animosity. That's not what you want. And if nobody steps up the project either falls through the cracks or it gets worked on sporadically or unfortunately. Sometimes the sponsor on the leadership team steps in to manage it and then they're in the weeds instead of looking into the future. None of these are great situations. What I usually see here is strongly disagree.
