There was a recent article in the Wall Street Journal called, Why Do Companies' IT Projects Fail So Often? And the article actually cited 4 reasons, but the main one, the first one, was they talked about how IT departments are typically a silo. Requests come into them from other areas of the business, and they are left to prioritize on their own what's important to the business. Typically, IT departments in small-medium businesses may have 2 to 5 people. They don't have the resources to do everything. So when they're asked to prioritize what's the most important, where to spend their resources, how do they know what to do that's the most important for the business? At AJC, we have actually solved this problem because we use a prioritization model that looks at impact to the business at the leadership team level. And we can train your team how to do this for yourselves.
