WIFFM Executagility® Structure

Andrea Jones breaks down an executagility assessment that found only 1 in 10 organizations execute project work reliably. The other 8 in 10 fall somewhere in the middle. She recommends studying what those middle performers do right and standardizing it into a repeatable process.

Hi, I'm Andrea Jones. Today we'll talk about what's in it for you to know whether your team has a good structure to run those projects that grow the business right. Not the things you're doing today, but the growth projects. Here's the exact question we ask in the executagility assessment. What best describes your organization's ability to reliably execute project work in an organized and streamlined manner that minimizes delay, does not waste time or effort, and provides timely and transparent results that you can measure? When we first asked this question, I only gave people a yes or no option and only 1 out of 10 people said yes. They had a good ability to do this. So nine out of ten said no. We don't have the ability. Obviously, that's a bit of a leading question. In fact, I got feedback that it was a leading question, so I added these options in here. Interestingly, now that we have the options and we have a statistically significant data set, 1 out of 10 still say we do this really well. 1 out of 10 say we don't do it well, and it's frustrating. That means 80%, 8 out of 10 people are somewhere in the middle. What would be in it for you to know who says yes, who says no, and who's in the middle? Well, think about it. If there's 8 out of 10 people in the middle, that means you're already doing some things really well, some things not, but some things well. So you can gather the people because you're going to know who said what and say, what are you doing that's working? Get them all together, get all their ideas, create a process or a structure for managing your internal projects that's based on what you already do well now, right? So you can get those ideas. That's what's in it for you. You can create a process to pull in the good ideas and standardize it so everybody uses the same one. Now people can run projects without having to waste time and get started always. And everybody should go to the we do this well. That's what's in it for you to know. If you don't know and 8 out of 10 people are in the middle at best. You're inconsistent, and I think it might be worth your while to find out.
