Trevor shares three things that made his startup attractive to buyers: product building, organic growth, and operational efficiency. These are the concrete moves that signal to acquirers you've built something real.
I guess my last question on the acquisition would be if you had to give another founder three pieces of advice to achieve something like you did, where they get multiple offers, they really maximize their exit.
One is, you're building the product. I think one of the biggest questions we were getting is kind of like, where was the traffic coming from? And where are these new signups coming from without us having to pay for it? So that was really important for the buyers as they were thinking through. And then from like, building and maintaining standpoint, like, think about how manual it is. Like, one of the nice things about what we built is it was entirely plg. You didn't necessarily need a human involved for it to continue operating. And so the buyers were looking at that and saying, look, like, if you've got new people signing up and connecting, like, that makes it much more attractive for my margins. And then the third piece of advice is just go for it. Like, just build something. Build something. Add a stripe link, get people to start paying, and then you never know where you'll end up.
