A founder who bootstrapped to $10 million revenue and sold his company shares advice on navigating acquisitions. He started acquire.com to build a founder-friendly marketplace for startup sales, having learned what works and what doesn't from being on both sides of the deal.
I bootstrapped that to about 10 million in annual revenue, had that acquired by a private equity firm with about a hundred thousand raised. But I like to bring this up because I've been on the acquisition side in terms of meeting with buyers, understanding the process, both with financial buyers and strategic buyers. I know what it's like to get acquired. I know the emotions, I know how difficult it is, I know how confusing it can be. And leading just to the next slide. That's why I started acquire.com to really build the world's most founder friendly startup acquisition marketplace in the world and really empower you as a startup founder to maximize your acquisition when you're going to market. And so, with that being said, in terms of progress, we've been in business almost four years.
