This is a YouTube video titled "Anatomy of a Great Seller Listing - Acquire.com Academy" created in February 2023. The content is a tutorial presented by Andrew from Acquire.com, explaining how to properly fill out a startup listing on the Acquire marketplace. Foreign. How's it going? This is Andrew from Acquire, and in this tutorial I'm going to go over the anatomy of a good listing and how to properly fill out all of your information. So we start with some easy items. Date, founded, startup, team size, startup, type your location, state if necessary. I'm in California and this is a headline, so this is kind of the first line that buyers will see when they're browsing the marketplace. And it's also important to state that we do clean this up quite a bit. So we'll come in here and we'll add these items and make your listing look absolutely fantastic. But we just need basic information because we can also pull information from your website. Again, just to give your startup the best description and view to buyers and then asking price here. Definitely recommend going through our multiples report to get a sense of the market. Typically, net profit times four leads to a ton of buyer interest. Also stating things like open to seller financing that increases your buyer pool. Now that's completed. And then we also have questions such as what is your business model? What is your tech stack? These are all questions that buyers are going to ask. So. So just having detailed answers up front can really help speed up the process with buyers. Then right here is a growth opportunity. So essentially, if you were to leave the business, how would you grow it? If you had to spend another million in it or spend another year in the business, like, what would you do? What are the things you haven't done? Because these can be huge selling points. When selling your startup, have you ever raised your pricing? If not, that's a huge opportunity. Just areas of the business that only you know. Because when you're going through an acquisition with buyers, it's really good to to be honest about your startup in terms of sharing what has worked, what hasn't worked, where you think like show your business with warts and all, because that's really what buyers are looking for is what is the growth opportunity to grow this business further. And you as the owner probably have some good insight there and other things that are super important. So I'm going to start with verifying my identity. This is done through a third party called Persona that really gives confidence to buyers of who you actually are. I so have my LinkedIn account created. This is one of the first things that buyers will want to look at is who are you? Is there anyone that we have in common? Can I trust you? Essentially. And you can also connect your metrics to give buyers a real snapshot in the true financial health of your business, which gives you a huge competitive advantage comparative to other listings on the marketplace and really helps you stand out and build that trust with buyers right from the get go. And we connect revenue through Chart Mogul. So you can simply create an account for 90 days for free. Or if you already have an account, you can just easily connect that. And when that's done, and let me show you one more thing, we also allow you to connect financials to essentially build a 36 month P and L. And we have integrations with pretty much every accounting software you can think of. And this will give you some beautiful looking PNLs. Again, buyers, a true sense of the health of your business. And so this is what it looks like when it's all set up. Buyers can see your customers. All of it is anonymized, but again, it just shows a really good snapshot in the health of the business. Business instantly building trust of buyers and really helping your business stand out. And skip a lot of the initial questions they'll have about your revenue. And the more you can give them upfront, the less questions they're going to have. Because their first question is you have a P and L in this example. I do due diligence questions. I've answered them. Essentially. This could be a doc of questions that every buyer asks. And if you need a due diligence checklist, we have one that we can send you. And I highly recommend filling that out. So I hope this was helpful. This is kind of a quick overview, but again, to get started, we just need just basically basic information. We have a team that cleans up your listing, connect your financials, connect your metrics. Also be sure to create a profile of yourself where you verify your identity. Connect LinkedIn and give yourself a description. And then you should see a button here that says submit. And our team will review your listing from there and hopefully get you acquired. Cheers.
